How do I delete the Application Data on my Galaxy Device?
If you're having trouble with an app on your mobile phone or tablet, say app keeps crashing, or if you're seeing a lot of pop-ups or ads appear all over the screen - one of the first troubleshooting steps is to delete the Cache and Data of the problem app. This is like forcing it to forget the background settings, and in some cases, it will be as though you've never set up the app before. It is worth trying to clear the cache and data when an app is performing in a weird way after a software update or application update. The next step in trying to resolve an application issue is to uninstall the app and reinstall it from the Google Play Store or Galaxy Apps store.
Please Note: Clearing the application Cache and Data does not remove any data that is stored on a server - so if you have an app that requires you to log in with an email address or other account credentials, you will need to speak to the application developer about removing any information from your account.
The steps below are organised by operating system. If you're not sure what OS your device is running you can check out page on What version of Android OS is my device running? Click the dropdowns to see the step-by-step guides.
