Galaxy S10 Cinema Display & Blue Light Protection

Last modified : Feb 25. 2019

Introducing the Samsung Galaxy S10 - with the most impressive Infinity O Display yet. The brightness, colour accuracy and Blue Light emission have all been improved from previous models.

Cinematic 19:9 Display

The Galaxy S10 is the worlds first smartphone with a HDR 10+ display with Dynamic Tone mapping. This means the Galaxy S10 displays colours more accurately and has a colour gamut 36% wider than Standard Dynamic Range. The details and colours displayed on the Galaxy S10 are brighter, more accurate, and feels more like a full cinema experience in the palm of your hand.

Although the Galaxy S10 and S10+ have Quad HD+ Resolutions, the default resolution is set to Full HD out of the box. See the page on Change the Screen Resolution for steps on adjusting the screen resolution of capable models.

Dynamic AMOLED Display

The Galaxy S10 Dynamic AMOLED display is rated to 800 nits; a number that makes the S10 14% brighter than the Galaxy S9. This will mean details on the screen will be sharper and clearer; but also brighter and easier to see when you're outside in bright sunlight. To enable Auto Brightness check out the guide at Enable Auto Brightness on Samsung Devices.

Blue Light Protection

The Galaxy S10’s advanced display decreases the amount of harmful blue light emitted from the screen; all while maintaining the original colour tone of videos and images, without activating a dedicated blue light filter. The Galaxy S10 display is automatically optimised for all scenarios, even learning your routines to the point of automatically enabling a reduced Blue Light filter when it's time for bed. For more information, see our page About the Blue Light FIlter.
