How to move applications to a microSD card

External Storage

If you're running low on storage or your device is running more slowly than usual; moving some Applications (as well as music, images and other files) across to a microSD card may speed things up for you.

Please Note: Not all devices are capable of transferring apps to external storage - and generally speaking, only certain apps will be allowed to move. Any app that has something to do with the Operating System will need to stay on the device to ensure the device runs as normal.

The steps below are divided by Operating System (or Android version). If you're not sure what OS your device is running you can check our page on How to find out what version of Android my device is running?
