Making the Ringtone Louder on Samsung Phones

Last modified : Nov 05. 2019

If the ringer on your Samsung device is too soft or you're having a hard time hearing when calls are coming in, there are a couple of things to check. Click on the below drop down menus to increase your Ringtone volume.

Please Note: This guide is created for Australian variant devices. Screenshots were captured from a Galaxy A20 operating on Android OS Version 9.0 (Pie), settings and steps available may vary depending on your Galaxy device and Android OS Version.

Try restarting your Galaxy device and starting up in Safe Mode then test your ringtone once more. If it's still not loud enough, you may need to visit a Service Location to run further diagnostics on the physical hardware of your device.

Android OS 5 and earlier:

If you have an older Samsung device that runs Android OS 5 or older, there is an option to increase the Volume of your device when it recognises it is in a pocket or bag.

Open the Settings app, select My Device, and open the Call settings. Scroll down to find the option Increase Volume in Pocket and tick the box next to it to turn this option on.
