Unfortunately 'process com.google.process.gapps has stopped' Error

When you encounter this Error Message: "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped.", this may be due to the Download Manager being disabled. The gapps in the error message refers to Google apps. If there are issues with the Google Apps on your mobile device, this error message may appear. Follow the below guide for more information.

Please follow the below troubleshooting steps to try and resolve the issue:

1 Restart your phone
2 Reset app preferences

Head into Settings > Apps/Application manager > three dots icon > Reset app preferences > Reset.

3 Clear the cache/data for the following apps/services

 Google Play Services, Google Framework, Google Play Store:  Go into the Settings menu > Apps/Application manager > select the App Force stop > Clear Cache > Manage space > Clear all data.

4 Uninstall updates for the Google Play Store.

Go into the Settings menu > Apps/Application manager Google Play Store > Uninstall updates.

5 Check for a software update on your Galaxy device

If all steps have been actioned and issue persists, it is recommended to perform a Factory Data Reset.

2 Tap on three dots > Show system apps.
Tap on 3 dots > Select Show system apps
3 Tap on Magnify glass icon then search for and select Download Manager

6 Restart your device.
