Using the Samsung Music App

If you have music files saved within your internal memory you can use Samsung Music to listen to your favourite tunes, create playlists and set favourites. The Samsung Music app supports playback of audio formats like MP3, WMA, AAC and FLAC and is optimised for use with Samsung Android devices and provides a powerful music player functionality.

Please Note: This guide is designed for Australian variant Galaxy devices, if you have an international device and require further support click here to get in touch with your Samsung subsidiary. Screenshots were captured from a Galaxy S10 5G operating on Android OS Version 9.0 (Pie), settings and steps available may vary depending on your Galaxy device and software version.

1 Swipe up to access your Apps Tray and tap on three dots icon
Tap on the three dots in your apps tray
2 Select Galaxy Essentials
Select Galaxy Essentials
3 Tap on three dots icon beside Samsung Music
Tap on download beside Samsung Music

If you are unable to locate Samsung Music within Galaxy Essentials, you are able to search and download directly from the Google PlayStore. Check out our guide How to install apps from the Google Play Store for step-by-step instructions.

4 Allow the application installation to reach 100%

1 Open up Samsung Music app icon Samsung Music within your Apps Tray
Once installed you will be able to find the app within your apps tray
2 Tap on Agree
Tap on AGree
3 Agree to the popup permissions and tap on Start
Agree to the pop up permissions and tap on start
4 You will then be able to choose from a range of categories to view different types of Music, Genres, Artists or Playlists.

Please Note: You will need to sign into or create a Spotify Account to start using the Spotify option. The music stored within your internal storage should automatically populate within the Samsung Music app. If you are unable to find a track within the app, ensure the song can be located via My Files app and either copy or move to your Music folder.

Setting FavouritesClick to Expand
1 Tap on a song you would like to set as a Favourite
Select a song to start playing
2 Select heart icon to set as a Favourite
Tap on the heart icon to set as a favourite
3 If you head back to your Favourites list you will be able to view all your favourite tracks
Head back into Favourites to view Favourite songs
Creating PlaylistsClick to Expand
1 Select the Playlist option and tap on Create Playlist
Head into Playlists and select Create Playlist
2 Type in your new Playlist name then tap on Create
Type in a Playlist name then tap on Create
3 Select the tracks you would like to add into your Playlist then tap on Done once complete
Select the tracks you would like to add in your playlist then tap on Done
4 You should be able to view all the tracks saved within your new playlist
