Warm water from your refrigerator's dispenser could be a sign that the cold water reservoir has been depleted. This reservoir typically holds about a quart of water, equivalent to 2 - 4 glasses. If the dispensed water is warm, allow some time for the reservoir to cool down again.

Note: During summer months, water enters the refrigerator at a higher temperature, prolonging the cooling time.

In new refrigerators, the first few gallons of water may have an unusual taste or smell. It is recommended to dispense and discard 2 to 3 gallons of water to thoroughly flush the system.

If your refrigerator is not new and there's a sudden change in the taste or smell of the water or ice, consider replacing the water filter. After installing a new filter, dispense 2 to 3 gallons of water.

Should the issue persist even after replacing the filter, the problem might be with your water supply. In such cases, consulting a professional plumber is advisable.
