        All About 30" Monitors

        • How do you measure a computer monitor screen size?

Monitor screen sizes are measured diagonally from one corner of the display to the opposite corner, typically in inches - for example, 24", 27", or 32". This measurement includes only the screen area, not the bezels or the frame.
        • Curved monitors are measured diagonally from one corner of the display to the opposite corner, just like flat monitors. However, they also have a curvature rating, such as 1000R or 1500R, which indicates the radius of the curve in millimeters. A smaller number means a more pronounced curve.
        • While monitor sizes vary widely, the most popular standard sizes today range from 22 to 32 inches. For most users, that provides the right level of screen size, without taking up too much space. But one PC monitor size does not fit all. The right size for you largely depends on how you plan to use your monitor. Depending on your work environment or gaming setup, larger or smaller computer monitor screens may be more suitable.
        • Curved monitors are becoming more common thanks to their engaging experience, wider field of view, and reduced distortion. The appeal lies in their ability to create an immersive experience, curving gently around your field of vision for more engaging, comfortable viewing. Flat monitors remain a practical choice for more basic and space-saving setups. Choosing between a curved monitor and a flat monitor comes down to personal preference and usage.
        • OLED stands for “organic light emitting diode.” In traditional LCD monitors using LED (“light emitting diode”) technology, a single backlight illuminates all of the pixels in a screen, creating an image that’s bright but lacking in contrast and color accuracy. In OLED monitors, however, each pixel can autonomously self-light, allowing them to turn off and on completely and individually. Because of their individual pixel lighting, OLED monitors can give users deeper blacks, greater contrast ratios, and more impressive image quality. They also look excellent at any viewing angle, with color and contrast remaining consistent no matter how the screen is tilted or which area of the room you’re watching from.
        • An IPS (In-Plane Switching) monitor is a type of display panel known for its excellent color accuracy, wide viewing angles, and consistent brightness levels compared to VA Panels. IPS monitors are ideal for tasks like photo editing, graphic design, and content creation, where color accuracy is crucial. VA (Vertical Alignment) panels are a type of display technology known for providing deeper blacks and better contrast ratios. These panels are preferable for tasks like watching movies or gaming, where image depth and contrast are important. Ultimately, the choice between an IPS monitor and a VA monitor depends on your priorities.
