I've had this soundbar for a couple of years now, and it worked fine (bluetooth) for at least 6-12 months. The bass from the sub is great, the audio from the actual soundbar is great, the different modes work well, but in the last 12months it has been garbage. The bluetooth is absolutely useless. It never paired properly (WITH A SAMSUNG TV), and when it actually did it dropped out soon after. I had to manually pair it 90% of the time at least 3-4 times before it worked. The optical cable option for some reason was not as loud as BT. I finally have given up and bought a new one, different brand of course. Even after the software update it still couldn't pair properly!

I use this with my Samsung TV and use the digital optical connection. Randomly comes up Receiver (Optical) and I’m unable to control the volume. Have to turn it on and off multiple times or switch inputs until it says Soundbar R4-Series (Optical). Very unreliable. The sound is ok but what do expect for the money.

We bought this last week to replace an older samsung that also had issues (after 5 years of ownership). However, this had issues from the second time we used it. We use/tried the bluetooth and the optical connection. In both cases, from time to time (about 10-20 minutes in) the main soundbar would either start hissing and distort the sound or go completely silent. We tried connections from our mobile phones (android and apple), and from Google Cast. The subwoofer has no issues which is why we know it is not a connection issue but the soundbar speaker build quality itself. On the plus side, the interface is very intuitive with the remote and the manual is sufficient. We have requested a service call (no reply yet) and are now using another (not Samsung!) Bluetooth speaker without any issues.

The Soundbar has an average sound when it comes to the head unit, but the subwoofer gives it a more premium feel with its loud, deep, and rich bass. I was disappointed though when I found out that the only way you can connect to the TV is either Bluetooth, Optical cord, or an aux. There's no HDMI, which was what I was planning to connect with. I also think that we should be able to control the features through the SmartThings app because the remote is very easy to lose.

hello , for the money & small room you can't beat it ! what i did to fix the rear speakers is up size the speaker wires which made them louder . how to upgrade from a 6 1/2" subwoofer is come off of the speaker wires inside to a connector to a wire to a subwoofer with speaker high level inputs . i put a 12" subwoofer with speaker level inputs and man what a difference . all only was $150 to make the sound system sound like 420w better .

For the price this is a decent setup. I'm a "normal" person who appreciates good sound, but far (far) from a die hard enthusiast. The bass is perfectly acceptable and things are clear. It's an obvious step up from the TVs built in speakers. Lack of HDMI connectivity might be a big deal for some--it really should have one. Things work fine with the optical. Given it's price point the thing is fine.

Soundbar doesn’t support FLAC audio. When I plug my iPhone into the Apple adapter then into my tv the audio coming out of the soundbar is significantly reduced and the volume needs to be turned up to 50 to hear anything. I can confirm this because I also have a k360 and In the same scenario the audio is not impacted. The only difference between the 2 is the FLAC audio support.

I bought my Samsung HW-R450 Soundbar with the wireless rear speakers. While the system does not replicate a multi-speaker upper end sound studio, it is more than adequate for most listers - per my family and friends. Once you have the right bass and trebble settings, the sound quality is very solid. With setting choices for sports, movie, night, music and best voice, I'm satisfied with this unit. We have our linked to a Samsung 65 inch TV, and enjoy nice sound without having to spend allot of money. My only negative is that the wall mounting system requires perfect percision to maintain level. The paper template comes folded, so good luck trying to be precise given the creases in the paper. Despite these challanges, properly leveled wall mounting is possible with careful thought and precise measuring. I took one star off my design rating due to the difficult wall mounting system. Lastly, I've used this sound bar for over one year.

The most important reason why I bought this sound bar was for the "smart" setting that would control the volume when watching a movie. Maybe I have not figured out how to use it correctly but it DOES NOT work as I would like it to. I had to keep putting up the volume to hear people talk and down for action scenes.

When we watch content with dialogs it is hard to hear within 5 feet away from soundbar, had to increase volume from 20 to 35. When music is playing then have to reduce value to 15. We bought it because we could get good movie experience. DRC is on with sound mode set to Smart
