After only having my new - very expensive dryer for two weeks it smells like dirty wet socks. I am fastidious with keeping the lint filter and water catchment canister clean and empty so couldn't understand why my drier has developed this odour. I looked over my dryer to find the cause and found that the heating element has wet lint stuck to it. I contacted Samsung and a repairer came out last week to view my 3 week old dryer. Verdict - technician could not find any mechanical faults with my dryer, however he said he has never seen a dryer with the same problem. He took photos to send to Samsung. A week later I am still waiting on an answer as to how this issue will be rectified. I am extremely disappointed!!!!

I didn’t even need a new dryer but got talked into this purchase at Harvey Norman after hearing what it can do. But I’m so terribly upset and disappointed in this purchase. It does not dry my clothes, now I struggle trying to stay up to put it on again after it being on for 3hrs and still won’t dry my kids uniforms. How could a company sell such a joke for such a hideous price. I’ve never spent this kind of money on something new, and now I’ve sold my old dryer that was a dream compared to this at 4 times the price. Can I please get a refund? How can this be legal to sell such a thing

I have had this dryer 6 months. It works reasonably well except for doing bed linen. we have tried everything but everytime it ends up tangled and never drys out. I don't know why this happens but we have had el cheapo dryers that do a better job. We now have to take the bed linen to the local laundromat (5 klm away) to get it dried. Not happy Jan!!!! We spent a fortune on this dryer.

I purchased this dryer 3 months ago. From the start, it smelt like mildew if the door was left closed or we didn't remove the clothes within 20 minutes of the dryer finishing. We had a technician come out, he confirmed that we had been keeping the lint filter clean and regularly cleaning the heat pump unit. He stated that this was just how these units are, they are known for stinking. Samsung has closed our case as the technician stated there is no "part" to replace under warranty. We are very unhappy and out of pocket a lot of money. Yes, it takes 3 hours to dry, but we were aware of this and I think it does a good job. Our clothes are dry and soft and not overly hot like other dryers. But a 3-hour drying cycle, then you have to remove the clothes within 20 minutes or rewash them..... not a good product.

We bought this based on higher energy rating out of most of the dryer' s on the market in a similar size. I am yet to be able.to.finish.any of the many options for specifidc cycles with dry clothes. All.of these features are meaningless if they do not work. I suspec this is a venture of marketing invention as suppose to.scientific innovating One was 3 hours long!!!! Totally riduclous. This was the mixed load cycle. 3 hours! Totally inadequated to.perform.to loads back.to back.. . I cannot fathom how this would actually be more.energy efficient when my last dryer ran for never more than one hour, but never had any damp clothes on the dryer has to go all day and the preset or are absolutely useless and don't dry! The towels and bedding get balled up and this also cause inconsistent drying I will be seeing a refund for this from samsung as it clearly is not aable.to.perform as a clothes dryer.

Why in the 21st century can a company not make an appliance that has one job - to dry clothes? After ridiculously long cycles, clothes are still damp and if you put in more than one sheet they are still wet once the cycle finishes. I've tried all the recommendations - less items, more items, different cycles, and settings. At the end of day trying to simply dry your clothes shouldn't be this difficult, and even when doing all the recommended steps this dryer still fails miserably. Will never buy or recommend a Samsung laundry product again. Stick to TVs.

Bought this dryer for almost two years now and we hardly even use it. We thought we would have it for just in case (during winter time when there is less sun). It is a huge disappointment as my mum's dryer can dry better than this pretty but none practical machine. Even put the dry level to 3 and still, our quilt cover came out still damp. Just imagine what our quilt will be like? And this dryer can hold 9kg... i mean how heavy is a cotton quilt cover? If it cant even dry the quilt cover, do you think it can dry a quilt? Whats the point for the 9kg selling point? What is a dryer if it cant even "dry"?! I really wish I could go back to Goodguys and ask them for an exchange to a different machine. Is all the heat pump like that or is it only samsung?! Would highly not recommend this. And we clean the lint filter every single time before we use it. Unbelievable... For that price, this is what we get...

Three weeks after we bought it enthusiastically, it failed, water everywhere. Samsung replaced the pump within a day and it hasn't had a problem since. It works ok, it's quiet even when not using the quietest setting. Good to have it connected to the internet, it keeps you posted on what it's doing. If the "wrinkle prevent" and "Internet connet" buttons were on by default the ease of use score would go up. Other Samsung appliances have lasted reasonably long with frequent use, so I have positive expectations for this one.

If there was a village of bad dryers this one would be their king, doesn't dry without restarting it 10 times and the troubleshooting says if doesn't dry try removing some clothes and if that doesnt work try adding some clothes. I shouldn't have to be adding and removing clothes trying to find the perfect balance for the dryer to work

Purchased to match the Samsung washer, which is great, but wouldn’t have bought the dryer had I known you had to do lots of regular maintenance involving lying prostrate on the floor to access the bottom ‘mesh filter’ whilst holding and torch and getting your hand in with a very small brush (I’m using a razor brush) to clean between each of the millions of delicate filter plates - and if you don’t do this every few months - the dryer will display a fault code, bleep at you and stop working. Honestly, I consider myself to be a fit 55 year old, and it nearly kills me to do this, so anyone less fit or elderly would have no chance! Sorry Samsung but definitely a design flaw! The other filter inside the door/drum is easy to clean and needs to be done after EVERY dry.

We bought a Samsung DV90N8289AW heat pump dryer and were very pleased with it, however after about 1 year it developed a very nasty smell. We talked to Samsung and it was taken away for repair, however it still smelt. Following dozens of emails and phone calls over an 8 month period Samsung finally agreed to replace the dryer however we no longer had confidence in Samsung and eventually they agreed to give us a refund. We would never buy another Samsung product after this very bad experience.

We brought this dryer about a month ago; it’s so much better than we anticipated. It has a much larger capacity than our old dryer ( drying a king size quilt and a couple of bath sheets with no problems), dries effectively ( does its job),and has a quick dry cycle for those early morning emergencies . Just remember to read the instructions and confirm your drying settings - if these are off, you can end up with damp clothes.

We've been using the dryer for a few months now and it is great. It is fairly easy to use, has good features like notifications to your phone when the dryer is finished; the water outlet can be connected to a drain so no hot air blowing around the laundry; and the lint basket is easy to clean. The only down side the heat exchanger needs to be cleaned regularly which involves 2 mins cleaning at floor level.

The double filter in the dryer does not stop lint getting into the heat exchanger resulting in a potential fire hazard. Also the fins on the heat exhanger are easy damaged when trying to remove the lint. It also takes 3+ hours to dry a full load. This is a dangerous product (fire hazard) do not buy.

I bought this last year and from the time I purchased this is not drying well at all. I took some time to read the manual clean the filter cleared the lint and all other instructions yet no hope. Time to chuck this and buy a cheap dryer which would do the job better than this any day

This dryer is great if you won't need to dry sheets or anything that may generate lint. Sheets get tangled within themselves (as does any other washing in the dryer) and the smart sensor thinks they're dry when they're not. You have to use a fixed time setting and even then it can be 4 hours+ of drying to dry the sheets. Lint production is out of control and often there is lint around arond the door and in the hinge which is difficult to remove. We have to vacuum out the lint trap every second load to prevent this from happening. We don't have particularly plush or fluffy stuff so I'm surprised there is so much lint as never had this with a previous dryer. Customer support hasn't been that helpful in solving this (although did send a tech out to replace the door - the tech is lovely and realy helpful). We got this dryer to meet the demands of a family with small kids as we have to wash lots of bedding. It's actually easier to dry sheets hanging over doors than in this dryer. NB, the Samsung washer is great!

I received this tumble dryer from Samsung for product testing purposes and very glad to have got it. It replaced a very old one that we had so this was definitely a big upgrade. It is much quieter than the one it replaced and also does an excellent job of drying things quickly (the main purpose of a tumble dryer!). One of my favourite things about it is the size of the drum which means we can fit loads of clothes in it, which is a very useful when you have 3 children! It has a good amount of programmes you can use depending on the clothes that you are drying and also very helpfully it is integrated with the SmartThings app which will lead you to pick the right programme. Using the same app, you can remotely view how long is left on the cycle which is helpful for us as the tumble dryer is in a utility room/garage so can be difficult to hear. I couldn't think of anything that this tumble dryer could do better, it looks great, it is efficient A+++, has a light in the drum, dries clothes quickly and you can control from your phone. What more could you need from a tumble dryer!

This drier has an automatic reverse function which reduces tangling of your washing. It takes a long time to dry heavy loads but is quiet in operation and economical. So far, I am very pleased with it.

Had the drier for a month all seems well until I had items that require low heat or no heat. This machine didn't appear to have any temperature control?! Am I missing something here?

I received this tumble dryer from Samsung for product testing purposes. When we received our Samsung tumble dryer, I was delighted. Although our previous dryer was still functioning, I found it frustrating that despite whatever setting I used, the temperature always seemed high. It was also noisy, the side of the machine vibrated. Well, this dryer is a star! I can control the temperature! I can dry delicates without worrying about damage, I can dry sheets and shirts quickly. I love the flexibility of the features. One new feature to me is the drying rack. I have used it a number of times and it does a fantastic job. We have even used the mobile phone app to determine the optimum cycle for a load – this is really helping me to get to grips with the settings but is also great for other members of the family who are not so familiar with the machine. It is also super quiet which is fabulous. Now, a few points for possible improvement. As there is flexibility with the temperature, why not make it easier for ‘casual’ users – e.g. our children. If the dial display had different colour lights for the setting, it would give a quick visual indication if they were putting their favourite T-shirts on a high temperature and then find them two sizes too small! Maybe blue for cool, white for medium and orange for high. I would certainly try another Samsung product and I have already raved about this dryer to everyone I meet – even at work!

I received this tumble dryer from Samsung for product testing purposes - and boy I am glad to be using it! Before even using the machine, the first great thing is how it looks. It has a large door and very modern appearance - and brings a touch of class to a kitchen or utility room. There are so many features. Of course, it has the usual cycles that you would expect for cottons and synthetics. But it also has special cycles for bedding and my personal favourite - Air Wash, which is perfect for refreshing clothes that have only been worn for a short amount of time and don't warrant a full on wash & dry. It has a wonderful digital display and it is easy to see how much water is in the tank, meaning use and maintenance are easy. Another great feature is the Smart technology it uses. I can control the dryer from my mobile phone; no more wondering how long the cycle has left to complete as I can switch it on and check the timing from my phone. The 9kg capacity is brilliant, especially when drying towels. I have even trusted this tumble dryer on some of my most delicate items. I am not necessarilly recommening you do this as it goes against the instructions provided with the machine, but I successfully dried silk tops with sequins; the machine cared for them very well indeed. Yes, it is expensive but I think it's a fantastic dryer that feels like it will last for many, many years. And with the A+++ energy efficiency rating, what's not to like?

Ok first off I received this tumble dryer from Samsung for product testing purposes. Now my household has many Samsung products they have all been great. So onto this dryer. Quite simply a marvel of a dryer and finally one that matches the load weight as our washing machine. With a busy household that is a must. but also the fact that you can control the machine via the Smart things app and more so if you have a Samsung smart phone, Bixby integrates this app and is so simple but also a time saver telling you when the load has been completed. The dryer is easy to connect to the home wifi network and with all the settings on the app can mean ease of control of the machine. It also has a "recipe" guide to select the best programs for the items you may have. The operation is very quiet and with the clothing we have put in have come out perfect but did find the towels, if put on the highest setting, a little too dry. But that is a trial and error no matter what you use. In time you will find the perfect settings. Now while this has many programmes to use, I found two to stand out that as a 2A 2C family certainly is useful. The Air Wash Uses warm air to refresh items that may have been stored in the wardrobe or perhaps, as in my case, a shirt that could be refreshed. This is great feature and certainly one to use for a winter morning. The Optimal Dry feature uses sensors to measure moisture levels, which then adjusts the drying time and having had this on our other machine, it certainly works and for us they have improved this with loads being saving around 30 minutes on our normal loads. Quite simply one of the best dryers we have had and cannot see any reason why we would go elsewhere.

Firstly Samsung have not cut back on style. It is sleek and modern looking. The 9kg is a real bonus though you may still want to put 1/2 loads if time is a concern. Though it can detect if some items have tried and therefore you can take those out before the cycle ends. The A+++ energy rating is great though possibly it isn't as fast as the Zanussi I used to have I think it is gentler and seems to generate less lint. The water collector at the top is a good feature as is the light. I wish the water level was a little clearer though my old device had none so still a bonus. I wasn't convinced about the Smart element initially but being told to my phone it is "ready" is great. I mainly used mix option which meant the non cotton items which dry quicker could be extracted 3/4 through the cycle. I liked the favourite option too which makes life easier for the less technical user. It is actually very easy to use. The lint double filter will no doubt increase the life span of the drier. It did make it candyfloss like and on occasions stubborn to remove. Be good to have a scraper tool to assist there. The warm air clean was good for those clothes which have been sitting in drawers for a season and much quicker than washing. There was a silent dry but to be fair the device was extremely quiet. The extra hour means I might not use that often. I did try some sodden clothes it did struggle to dry them on one cycle. I did use the bedding feature but not sure what it did different. They did come out fresh. I hadn't considered drying trainers but the rack option is a great bonus. Overall I do recommend this product. The price bracket is a little steep but combined with the washer not only look fab but do have really useful extras.
