Washing machine energy saving tips
Samsung continually strives to make all its washing machines more energy efficient, but there are still plenty of ways to save when it comes to your laundry. Follow our tips below to help save energy on your wash, and find out what to look for when choosing an energy efficient washing machine.
1. If the appliance has AI energy mode enable this function and use AI cycle to help save power.
2. Washing clothes on the shortest cycle, or quick wash, means using less water, heated at a lower temperature, and a shorter spin cycle, all saving energy. This cycle over time, causes less damage to your clothes, helping them stay good for longer.
3. Use a cooler 30°C cycle when possible. Only particularly dirty clothes, stains or underwear need warmer temperature cycles.
4. Soaking heavily soiled items before washing reduces wash time needed. Rub stains with household soap to avoid repeat washes for heavily engrained stains.
5. Wait until you have a full load before doing a wash to avoid unnecessary heating and water waste. You can always pick quick wash mode in an emergency, if you’re running out of socks.
6. If you mainly do low temperature washes, running a hot wash occasionally will remove bacteria and prevent odour build up in your machine.
Choosing an energy-efficient washing machine, tumble dryer or washer-dryer
If your machine is an older model, it may be making your energy bills unnecessarily high. All Samsung washing machines are equipped with an A-G energy rating, making it easier for you to choose the right machine for you. Customised wash cycle options can further help you choose the most energy efficient options for your needs.
