Galaxy Unpacked February 2026: what was announced
No more waiting. No more speculating. On 25 February, Samsung’s first Unpacked flagship event of the year was live streamed around the world from San Francisco. It saw the launch of the latest members of the Galaxy family. Say hello to the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy S26+, Galaxy S26, Galaxy Buds4 Pro and Galaxy Buds4.
What was announced
Samsung announced the launch of its latest flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy S26+ and the Galaxy S26, along with the Galaxy Buds4 Pro and Galaxy Buds4.
All three smartphones launched at Galaxy Unpacked February 2026 come with One UI 8.5. Built to adapt to you, the latest version of One UI helps you to personalise your Galaxy to how you use it.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is the star of the show. Its 6.9” display offers an immersive viewing experience, while the brand-new built-in privacy display will ensure that you’re the only person who can enjoy what’s on your screen. It hides your screen from other people’s view to protect your private information. You can even choose which apps or notifications you want to hide.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Galaxy without a world-beating camera. With its glass camera island, the design flows seamlessly into the device. On the inside, the cameras on the S26 Ultra set a new benchmark for Nightography: wider apertures and noise reduction all help to give you clear, detailed videos even in low-light environments.
The Wide camera has a 47% brighter aperture, opening to F1.4, while the Telephoto camera can open to F2.9, giving you 37% more brightness. In all their glory, the S26 Ultra’s lenses are: 200 MP Wide, 50 MP Telephoto with 5x optical zoom and 10x optical quality zoom, 50 MP Ultra Wide and 12 MP front camera.
It’s also the first Galaxy device to support APV (Advanced Professional Video), a new professional-grade codec designed to provide efficient compression for high-quality production workflows. If you’re a content creator, this means that you’ll get visually lossless video quality, even after repeated editing.
If you want to use your smartphone all day, the S26 Ultra is perfect; its 5,000 mAh battery gives you up to 31 hours of video playback, and with Super Fast Charging 3.0, you can charge it up 75% in just 30 minutes with a 60 W adapter. And if you want performance, its Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy provides fast, smooth, responsive gameplay.
Next up, we have the Galaxy S26+, with its 6.7” AMOLED 2X display. With an Exynos 2,600 processor, it is optimised for gaming and smooth multitasking. Its camera system doesn’t lag behind either, with a 50 MP Wide lens, 12 MP Ultra Wide and 12 MP front camera. It offers 3x optical zoom along with 30x digital zoom. And when night falls, its AI-enhanced noise reduction provides the Nightography that you’re looking for.
Last but by no means least, the Galaxy S26 brings a 6.3” Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and an Exynos 2600 processor. With the same camera lineup as the Galaxy S26+, the S26 can help you elevate every shot you take, providing richer colour and clarity thanks to ProVisual Engine.
But that’s not all we’ve got for you. Presenting the Galaxy Buds4 Pro, our true Hi-Fi Galaxy Buds. An advanced two-way Speaker, along with a dedicated Dual Amp helps them achieve amazing high-fidelity sound across the spectrum, giving you a studio-scale listening system straight into your ears. The Galaxy Buds4 come with a dynamic wide-range speaker to give you rich, full audio. And with their Active Noise Cancelling algorithm, you’ll be fully immersed in sound wherever you are.
Of course, being part of the Galaxy family, the Buds4 Pro and Buds4 come with amazing AI-powered features, including Galaxy AI Interpreter and, on the Buds4 Pro, Voice-Ready AI Agent, which initiate AI agents including Bixby, Google Gemini and Perplexity.
AI features on the Galaxy S26 series
The Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 all come with Galaxy AI built in to give you smarter, more personal experiences for everyday tasks, for everything from taking photos to searching for information to managing your day.
The brand-new Now Nudge intelligently understands what’s on your screen to give you suggestions, including opening your calendar to add an event, or opening your Gallery if someone asks you to send them a photo.
Now Brief keeps your day simple. It tracks your day-to-day, understanding your habits better than ever: it can recommend you playlists for your workouts and send you reminders for important events and any travel bookings you have saved on your device.
Updated Photo Assist now includes prompt-based photo editing so you can enhance your pics with just a few words, while Creative Studio can turn your snaps into stickers.
And Bixby now understands natural-language questions for quick settings changes and web searches.
