Washing Machine Does Not Fill Up or Drain

Troubleshooting Guide
Note: This is a general guide, as designs and functions can differ depending on the model of your washing machine. Please refer to your user manual to check the design and functions specific to your washing machine.
When the washing machine does not work, check that the door is tightly closed. The washing machine should be plugged in and powered on. Ensure the water source valve is completely connected and turned on.
Make sure your water hose is connected properly, and that cold and hot water hoses are connected to their respective valves. Ensure that there are no kinks or bends as that can cause blockages.
Samsung recommends a standpipe 60-90cm or 90-100cm* high. The drain hose must be connected through the hose clip to the standpipe, and the standpipe must fully cover the drain hose. For more information, the full installation instructions are available in your User Manual.
*The standpipe specifications mentioned here are only applicable to front load washers and pump-type top load models.
Over the Edge of a Wash Basin
The drain hose must be placed between 60 cm and 90 cm (*) above from the floor.
To keep the spout of the drain hose bent, use the supplied plastic hose guide (A).
Secure the guide to the wall using a hook to ensure stable drainage.
In a Drain Pipe
The drain pipe should be between 60cm and 90cm high (*). It is advisable to use a 65cm high vertical pipe.
To ensure the drain hose stays in position, use the plastic hose guide provided (see image).
To prevent the siphoning of water flow during drainage, make sure to insert the drain hose 15cm into the drain pipe.
To prevent the drain hose from moving around, secure the hose guide to the wall.
Drain standpipe requirements:
- Minimum diameter of 5cm
- Minimum carry-away capacity of 60L per minute
If the water pressure is too low, it can cause the water valve to not close properly, and cause the drum to take longer to fill.
The recommended water pressures can vary depending on the washing machine model, please check this by referring to your User Manual
Water supply and draining issues sometimes occur due to build-up and blockages, so it is recommended to clean the filters of the washing machine.
There are two types of filters on the product: (1) the mesh filter of the water hose; and (2) the pump filter on the bottom of the washing machine.
Occasionally a 4C error code can occur, indicating your detergent drawer is blocked. It is recommended to clean the detergent drawer frequently to avoid build-up and potential blockages.
