How to adjust Brightness settings

Last modified : Nov 13. 2018

Is the display on your phone or tablet too dark? If you're having trouble seeing the display clearly, or the brightness is not high enough - see the step-by-step guide to the Display settings of your device.

The easiest way to quickly adjust the brightness of your device is in the quick panel. Simply swipe from the top of the screen straight down, and no matter what kind of phone you have; the brightness slider should be right there at your finger tips. If you can't see the brightness slider like in the image below; the step-by-step guide will show you how to access the full Brightness controls in the Display settings.

Swipe down to quick panel to quickly adjust brightness slider

The step-by-step guides below are organised by operating system so it doesn't matter what type of Samsung mobile or tablet you have. You can check our page on What version of Android is my device running? if you're not sure - but the steps below are pretty similar no matter where you find the Display settings.

It can be tricky to navigate to the settings if the brightness is so low you can't see the screen! If that's the case, make sure you try the steps below in a poorly lit room.
