Galaxy Fit : Device layout and functions

The Galaxy Fit is designed to make tracking your activity throughout the day simple and easy, but its important to understand how to correctly use your new watch so you can get the most out of it. This page will cover the device layout and basic controls for both the Galaxy Fit. 
Compatibility: The Galaxy Fit is compatible with Bluetooth-capable smartphones using Android OS 5.0 or later with at least 1.5 GB of RAM, the iPhone 7 and above, iOS 10.0 or later are only compatible with Galaxy Fit.

The Side key is used to power the Galaxy Fit on or off, wake up the screen, restart the device and heading back to your home screen when viewing other apps from the watch.


Powering the Galaxy Fit On & Off

To power off your Galaxy Fit simply press and hold down the side key button and tap the tick icon to confirm the command. When restarting your device hold the Side key for more than 7 seconds, the system will then reboot and continue as normal.

When you turn on the Galaxy Fit for the first time or reset it, on-screen instructions will appear to launch the Galaxy Wearable app on your mobile device. Wearing the Galaxy Fit

1 Open the buckle and place the band around your wrist.
2 Push the band into the upper part of the buckle, insert the pin into the hole, and then push the end of the band into the lower part of the buckle to secure the Galaxy Fit to your wrist.

How do I control the screen?

Controlling the screen is fairly simple with the Galaxy Fit, to wake up the screen simply press the Side key button or you can enable Wake-up gesture. If you choose to enable the Wake-up gesture setting, whenever you raise your arm towards your face the Galaxy screen will light up displaying the time.

To enable this setting, launch the Galaxy Wearable app on your compatible smartphone → tap Home Advanced → toggle on Wake-up Gesture.

Once you have enabled the Wake-up Gesture setting, if the screen isn't being used for a extended period of time the screen will automatically turn off. Alternatively, you can turn off the screen by covering your palm over the face of the watch.

 

When navigating your way through different applications, you swipe from left to right and tap on the screen to select a particular option.

Please Note: 

  • Do not allow the screen to come into contact with other electronic devices. Electrostatic discharges can cause the screen to malfunction.
  • To avoid damaging the screen, do not tap it with anything sharp or apply excessive pressure to it with your fingertips.
  • It is recommended not to use fixed graphics on part or all of the touchscreen for extended periods. Doing so may result in afterimages (screen burn-in) or ghosting.
  • It is recommended to use fingers when you use the touchscreen.

Replacing the straps

1 Detach the band from the Galaxy Fit to replace it with a new one.

  • Keep the Galaxy Fit stable and remove the band. Otherwise, the Galaxy Fit may be damaged during band replacement. 
  • Be sure to pull out the band close to the screen. Pulling the end of the band may damage the band.
2 Insert the new band’s holder into the Galaxy Fit’s notch and push the band until it is fully inserted into the Galaxy Fit.

Band tips and precautions:

  • Ensure you do not bend the band excessively as this may cause damage to the Galaxy Fit. 
  • When measuring your heart rate, it is revommended to wear the Galaxy Fit firmly around your lower arm, just above the wrist.
  • Be cautious when wearing the Galaxy Fit. If you have sensitive skin or fasten the Galaxy Fit too tightly, you may feel some discomfort.
  • Some people may experience discomfort when wearing the Galaxy Fit for prolonged periods.
  • Skin irritation may occur if the strap is exposed to soap, sweat, allergens, or pollutants for long periods.
  • Do not wear the Galaxy Fit too tightly. Make sure to keep the device clean and dry. Though this device has met international safety standards, some people may experience skin irritation if they are allergic to certain substances.
