Using Link Sharing

Link Sharing is a file sharing app that is able to conveniently upload large files, high resolution pictures, videos & documents saved on your Samsung Galaxy device or Samsung PC to Samsung Cloud for a period of time, create links to those files and then easily send links to others.

You can easily transfer files up to 5 GB which will be stored in your Samsung Cloud service for 3 days and then will be automatically be deleted. Follow the below guide to learn how to use Link Share on your Galaxy device. If you would like to Stop Sharing MMS via Link Sharing click here.

Please Note: This guide is designed for Australian variant Galaxy devices, if you have an international device and require further support click here to get in touch with your Samsung subsidiary. Screenshots were captured from a Galaxy S20+ operating on Android OS Version 10.0 (Q), settings and steps may vary depending on your Galaxy device and software version.

Sharing Files

Step 1. Head into the My Files app

Step 2. Long press the file you would like to send then select Share

Step 3. Tap on Quick Share

Step 4. Choose between Copy link, Share link using an app or Share using a QR Code

Step 5. Tap on the app you would like to share the link to

Step 6. Proceed to follow the in-app instructions to share the link to your preferred contact then tap on Send

Please Note: The unique Link Sharing code will expire in 10 minutes so make sure the code has been received by your friend/family and downloaded within the given timeframe.

Receiving Files

Step 1. On the receiving device launch the app the link was shared through

Step 2. Tap on the link to load your web browser

Step 3. Select Download to download the file to your Galaxy device

Step 4. Once downloaded you will be able to open and view directly from your Galaxy device

Please Note: The downloaded files will be placed into your Downloads folder in your Internal Storage of your device.

Sharing Files from your PC
1 Ensure you have downloaded Link Sharing to your compatible PC. Click here to download Link Sharing to your PC.
Install Link Sharing app
2 Read through and agree the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy then tap on NEXT.

3 Set your PC name the tap on OK

4 Now its time to verify your identity, type in your mobile number then tap on OK

5 Enter in the verifcation code on PC into your mobile device

6 Type in the code from your PC into your mobile device then tap on Done

7 Once you have setup Link Sharing on your PC, click on SHARE to start sharing files
Click on share
8 Drag and drop files you would like to share and choose how you want to share the link - either Send to contacts, Create link or Create code. When you areready to share the files click on SHARE

9 On the receiving device click on the link to start downloading shared files
Click on Link
10 Tap on DOWNLOAD to start downloading the files onto your internal storage, once complete select Go to Downloads
Click on Download
