What is Notification Reminder?

Last modified : Mar 05. 2019

Notification reminder is an accessibility setting that will play a notification sound every 5 minutes. If your phone is playing a ringtone or email sound all the time, but you don't have any new notifications - it might be worth checking that Notification reminder isn't on. Notification reminder is designed to play a sound every  1 to 5 minutes to let you know that there is an Email, SMS or missed phone call that you haven't attended to. It will continue to play a sound until you have 'read' (or clicked on) every email, message or phone notification - it's the number one cause of strange and constant sounds. On the other hand, if you are always forgetting to reply to all of your messages and emails, turning on Notification Reminder is a good way to make sure you've responded to all of your incoming notifications.

To turn Notification Reminder on or off, see the step-by-step guides in the dropdowns below. The guides are divided into Operating Systems so the steps will be as close as possible to your Samsung phone. If you're not sure, you can check what version of the Android Operating System your mobile device is running first.
