Samsung Phone won't Power on

Your phone or tablet may not turn on if you are not charging it properly. But on the other hand, it may not turn off if it's completely frozen. If it's is not responding to you pressing the power button, check out the below guide to get your phone back up and running.

Please Note:  It is important that you are using genuine Samsung approved cables and plugs to charge your Galaxy phone or tablet. Also ensure that you are plugging your phone directly into the wall socket, if you are charging your device via a PC connection there may not be enough power to charge / use your phone at the same time.

1 Check for damage
  • Inspect the cables and the Galaxy phone ports for any corrosion, bent pins or any foreign materials. If you have another Galaxy device try charging the device with the exact cable and plug to ensure that the chargers are working correctly. 
  • If your device can be wirelessly charged, try charging the battery for at least 1 hour. The battery charging indicator may take up to 10 minutes to appear on the screen.
2 Perform a soft reset

Press and hold the Power and Volume Down keys until it restarts. This can take up to 60 seconds. If it enters the Maintenance Boot Mode instead of restarting, use the Volume Up or Down keys to highlight Normal Boot, and then select it by pressing the Home or Bixby key. 3 Remove any accessories

If you have any hard cases or covers on your device that could be potentially covering and pressing on the hard keys, it is recommended to remove them trying to hold down on the Power button. If the case isn't properly fitted on the device or blocking the power button, this may cause issues in turning your phone on or off.
