Do I Need To Use A Screen Saver?
Both CRT and LCD monitors are susceptible to burn in. If your monitor displays the same image for long periods of time (25 minutes or more), and the image or portions of the image remain unchanged, it's a good idea to use a screen saver. If, on the other hand, you change the image frequently, or the program or programs you have running change the image frequently, a screen saver probably isn't necessary.
Note: If you leave your monitor running unattended for more than 25 minutes at a time, it is also a good idea to use a screen saver.
