How do I move applications on my Galaxy Tab S3 to a MicroSD card?

Last Update Date : Apr 09. 2018

MicroSD Card

You can save room on your device by moving Android applications to your MicroSD card (not included). The ability to move applications to the MicroSD card is not supported by all applications.

Note: Screens and settings available may vary depending on your Canadian wireless service provider and your software version.

Move an App to your MicroSD Card

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps Apps.

2. Touch Settings Settings.

3. Touch Applications.

4. Swipe through the available apps. Then, touch the application you want to move.

6. Touch CHANGE.

Note: The ability to move applications to the microSD card is not supported by all applications. In those instances, the CHANGE option will be unavailable.

7. Touch SD card.

8. Touch MOVE to move the app to the MicroSD card.

Note: As mentioned on the screen, the transfer take a few moments (few seconds to a few minutes) and the app cannot be used during this process.

Important: Samsung does not prevent an application from being moved to an SD card. It is at the sole discretion of the developer of the app whether or not the possibility will be offered. Having an application on an SD card has a negative effect on its performance (it affects the speed of data transfer). If the developer feels that the negative effects outweigh having an SD card storage option, he/she may decide not to offer this option.

Change the Default Storage Location for the Pictures Taken with your Device when you use the Camera

By default, photos and videos are stored on your device's internal memory. If you have installed a MicroSD card in your device, the device will ask if you want to save photos to the MicroSD card the next time you open the Camera app. You can also change the storage location at any time.

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps Apps.

2. Touch Camera Camera.

3. Touch the Settings icon.

SD Card 7

4. Swipe through the available options. Then, touch Storage location.

5. Touch SD card. The next pictures taken with the Camera will be saved to your MicroSD card, until you change the setting again.
