How do I connect my Samsung smartphone to my TV using the MHL 2.0 HDMI adapter?

Your mobile device can connect to your HDTV using the Samsung MHL 2.0 HDTV Adapter.


Where to buy adaptors and HDMI cables:

The adaptor can be purchased separately on the Samsung Experience Store page. The adapter provides you with a standard HDMI adapter; an HDMI cable is not included.


HDMI cables can be bought from almost any electrical retailer.  


The HDTV Adaptor lets you view videos and other media stored on your phone via a compatible HDTV.

How to connect samsung phones to TV via using the MHL 2.0 HDMI adapte instruction.

To connect the HDTV Adaptor to your device, follow these steps:

1 Connect one end of a universal HDMI cable into the HDTV Adaptor.
2 Connect the other end to the HDMI port on your TV. If your TV has multiple HDMI ports, you may use any of the ports. Ensure your TV input settings have the right HDMI port selected. See your TV owner's manual to get more information.

Note: universal HDMI cables are sold separately.

3 Connect your phone charger to a power source and to the HDTV Adaptor.
4 Connect the HDTV Adaptor connector into the Power/Accessory Interface port on your device. This is the same port you normally use to connect your phone charger. The TV screen will instantly display what is on your device Home screen.

If it's not working, it may be down to one of the following reasons:

Please be aware that most digital rights management-protected content cannot be displayed using the HDTV Adaptor.

Please ensure the HDTV is compatible with viewing videos or other media stored on your phone using the HDTV Adaptor.

Refer to your TV owner's manual for correct HDMI settings, and ensure you are using the correct HDMI cable.

Your HDTV may not display an image when connecting the HDTV Adaptor to a desktop dock.
