Noisey in the extreme. Samsaung say this exctractor runs ok on 125mm duct. We installed it on 125mm duct. It only runs at one speed - fast / booster and is incredibly noisey. First engineer visit ordered a new motor and main circuit board. Second engineer arrived with these parts but refused to fit them as he said it shouldnt be on 125mm duct, and that if it were on 150mm duct it would run on all 4 speeds. The extracor is being returned. NOTICE - there are 8 reviews here on this extractor, SEVEN of them give ONE STAR!

DO NOT BUY this item! This item is being mis-sold by Samsung. It is NOT ‘Near Silent’ or quiet. If you are using internal circulation then this will be VERY loud with no difference in volume between lowest and highest setting. Even the Samsung expert that came out to ‘fix’ the item could not believe the volume and only found out this is how it is ‘meant to work’ after 30 minutes on a call with the technical team. A formal complaint will be going to Samsung and Trading Standards as there is nothing on this page or the manual to say that this is how it should work.

This hood has been a disappointing purchase. It requires a 150mm straight pipe to function properly, but this crucial detail is not mentioned anywhere prior to purchase. For a product costing over £400, it performs poorly with standard ducting. The noise level is extremely high, with the fan running at full blast even on the lowest setting. A Samsung engineer confirmed that many customers face the same issue, and unfortunately, there is no fix available. Despite the manual stating support for 120mm and 125mm pipes, Samsung support has declined responsibility, leaving us with an unsatisfactory and frustrating experience.

LOUD,LOUD, LOUD. Loud on setting 1, loud on setting 2 and loud on setting 3. No perceivable difference between them. Samsung engineer says it is performing according to spec and therefor there is nothing they can do yet Samsung use misleading words like “A near-silent Power Ventilation System” and “quickly and quietly”. I’d say drowns out conversation and can suck the atmosphere out of a room. Also apparently Samsung consider the ugly internal recirculation venting grids on the flue A FEATURE that you MUST HAVE even if venting externally. A feature that gives a clear view of the ugly plastic venting pipe and wall inside. For the sake of two additional screw holes on the inner (upper) flue, the upper flue could be installed the other way up so these would not be visible, as done with others hoods. Pic included and yes those scratches are from the install team. Expensively priced and definitely NOT worth the money.

This description is really misleading. We've just bought all new Samsung appliances to discover the hood is not compatible with our hob or oven. One of the settings doesn't work at all and the Bluetooth function is useless. Instructions are also not worth the paper they are written on.

The suction power is for sure amazing but this cooker hood is exceptionally loud, you can't hold a conversation in the same room when this thing is on. Aim for a cooker hood with a decible rating of 60 or below on lowest setting. Samsung should have an option to program the power of the fan on each setting via the smart things app.

This extractor is extremely loud, it’s installed in an open plan kitchen and I struggle to hold a conversation when it’s turned on. There’s 3 modes with no difference between them although Samsung says this is as expected. It makes the item borderline unusable

I like how the hood looks but like many other reviews said when the hood is in operation it is fairly loud , also i do find it very strange that for a product that it is sold in the uk the hood is supplied with either the cable without the plug be connected directly into the wall wiring or as if connected it using the European plug and therefore I had to purchase an adaptor in order to be able to connect the hood to a uk plug. Considering the we are in the uk a uk plug should have been provided

Through school (and university) I must have misunderstood the definition of quiet. It is not. Far from it. Do not buy because returning it is difficult and around the same cost as posting it back to South Korea in person. Avoid.
