It's a good phone that gets the job done the performance is pretty solid, but it doesn't have a long battery life so you'll probably be charging it every day if you don't want it to run out whilst out and about. The camera is ok but it isn't as good as it could be.

I find my new Samsung Galaxy A55 5G phone a wonderful addition to my life, the photos are very sharp despite having a shaking hand and they're pin sharp. I tend to find the reception a lot better than my older phone which is a great bonus as I love to travel.

Every year I say I’m gonna get an iPhone but then the Samsung comes out and blows my mind with the camera how fast it is the apps you can download onto it the APK support It’s something you do not get on an iPhone the ability to install apps that are not from the App Store so you can download your favourite football streaming sites and movie sites unlike on the iPhone. Galaxy A55 is a new phone with new features. However I experienced sounds problems in the first week and went to return it to the samsung store but they said I cannot return it. When making or returning calls, the other party cannot gear me. Regarding pictures, when I the a picture at night there is a white light in the picture which is annoying and unable to rectify it. In selfie, I cannot have good pictures either. I bought this phone for camera features but not enjoying it. I preferred my old Samsung phone which lasted 7 years and it had better picture selfie with larger background /large angle with me in the middle and /or more people could fit in my selfie.

I transferred everything from my old Samsung to the A55 with no problems. I set the fingerprint and facial recognition and then had to leave it as Christmas shopping was needed to be finished. Came back and the phone asked for a pin to open it. I never set a pin so went online to find the default pin and got 2 alternatives. They didn't work. My old pin and every other pin didn't work. Rang Samsung who were great and sent me details of how to do a factory reset. I had to be able to get into the phone to do that! I took it to the retailer I bought it from and they suggested something else, which didn't work. They offered a swap or refund, so I got a Google pixel instead. It works....

Since I bought this Samsung Galaxy A55 258GB nearly £500 in Argos Shop few months ago two things I don't like are the Glass is NOT clear because it's like a bit of white cloud everywhere on the Glass and when I zoomed up a little to make the picture big to film far the picture was a bit blur.

This phone is driving me crazy. It keeps telling me there is moisture in the USB. There is not !!! I have tried many hacks and was surprised to see 500 comments complaining about this. The only way it will operate is to turn off fast charging . Then go to USB settings and clear cache . The phone was bought on 31/08/24 so has been working for only three months I off which has been total problems . I am not a big user average 30 mins / day. RT .This is terrible. I went to Currys for a replacement and It has to go back to you for up to 28days . It is ridiculous !! I wish I had nevr bought it.

II have been using this phone for over a month and it has not disappointed me. I like everything about this device. The price is good. The performance and the battery is also good for this price price range. Cameras are also good. However, sometimes they can get a little bit soft. Not bad but not excellent for this price range. You can get better cameras for cheaper price. I would rate cameras 8 out of 10. Overall I like this phone and I recommend it if cameras are not your top priority. I would rate rhis phone overall 9 out of 10.

I have the A55 and my wife the A54. We frequently have issues connecting to WiFi in the US and abroad. What is strange is that one phone may connect to a network and the other not. Resets, new SIM Cards, etc.have not resolved the issues. This sometimes challenging when needing to navigate using Google Maps.

The phone should have got a 5/5, as there's a lot to love about it. But, there are some issues I observed. Dark mode works on selected app, even when I force dark mode in developers option. I also observe that the "Force dark mode" button in developers option toggles off by itself once I restart the phone. Secondly, calls via WhatsApp only ring out, but do not display once the phone is locked. To view the caller, I'll have to first unlock the phone. Lastly, the USB icon keeps displaying "connected/disconnected hours after the phone has been disconnected from the charger.

Good phone just not great! Phone has already froze whilst playing YouTube video. Screen is not that responsive and I've had to tap a few times to click on something quite simple. 12MP camera is okay but just be aware the 50MP camera you can not zoom in (phone does not allow you). Bought this phone for the bigger storage capacity and lower price than S series now I know why. Otherwise it's a good looking phone for the price. The bezel is thick but you get use to it and becomes noticeable.

I bought the 256GB variant at the sale price recently because I thought was such a bargain and I am blown away by the buttery smooth transitions and fantastic screen. Battery life also incredible. This is apparently a 'mid range' phone? You don't need anymore phone than this and with up to 4 years of updates to come it is future proof. I added a 512GB SD Card and this is my goto device for social media, music and YouTube. Photos so far have been excellent. Well done Samsung you've smashed this one out the park. Have you made it too good though 😉.....!

Up to now I had Galaxy Notes, but I was not prepared to spend over £1k to have a stylus. The A55 is a perfectly good machine at an affordable price (£400). Great battery life and storage. It has everything I need, but I do miss the stylus. I use the phone as a tool. I don't use social media. I'm not bothered about whizzie cameras. If I want to take good pictures I have a decent camera. I use the phone camera occasionally for convenience. I do use a lot of apps. Calculators, currency exchange, converters, financial, translators, atomic clock, news channels etc None of the descriptions below apply to me.

For a 70 year old man and incurable "news junkie," the Samsung Galaxy A55 is a great match. I wanted and got a display nearly 7 inches acrossl and the 5,000 mah battery is perfect, after my previous phone battery started to misbehave. Sure, the A55 doesn't have the performance of Samsung's prestigious S series, but my needs are modest. Here's hoping I'll still be using my phone in 2030!

Am so disappointed with this phone I upgraded or should I say downgraded from a samsung galaxy A70 , this new samsung galaxy A55 has been freezing and lagging constantly , tried everything from rebooting and making sure I had the newest system software update , works ok sometimes but others not so much ... it just feels off , the screen isn't as colorful as my old phone and the camera isn't the best , really wish I had just kept my old samsung A70 , I have hearing loss in both ears and thought with it being a new phone the speakers would be better but somehow they seem worse and so does the loud speaker , really unhappy and have tried samsung support but they don't seem interested !

The A55 does the job and looks and feels great but don't expect too much from it. It does everything you need it to so but it isn't the quickest mid-budget on the market and I wish I had done a little more research before buying it. In all honesty if you can spend that little extra then the S23FE would be a better bet. The Camera is a bit rubbish especially the 12mp Zoom which really does not give great images at all. Save your money and get something else.

I am very disappointed in the Battery life of this model i have had Samsung Mobiles for many years and when new the battery life on previous models has always been better than the A55 although it is advertised has having a great battery Life and that as well has having an sd Card facility was one of the reasons i chose this phone so yes disappointed

I upgraded from a three year old Samsung A52 but am somewhat disappointed with no noticeable improvement in performance, camera or battery life. I do have issues with poor 5G connectivity compared to the A52. The A55 is slightly bigger all round than the A52 and not as easy to operate one handed without feeling like I am going to drop it.

I've had Samsung for the past 10+ years. I find them easy to navigate and the camera gets better and better every time I upgrade. Definately recommend if you just want a really decent phone that has great photos and all the other features.

Generally happy but some issues; No Macro option oh the camera. Quite difficut to get close focus, a macro button would select the other option automatically Changing between apps that are already open is really clunky, sideswiping does not work, trying to select the main screen when an app is "minimised" siply opens the app in full screen Two many Samsung apps complicating things main issue was with Calendar. Had to uninstall Samsung calendar . Not the only case with this Happy with waterproffing and sound/screen quality I would recommend Samsung to others but why change Android?

Very good phone as I needed a bigger screen than my previous phone. Once setup, it’s very easy to use with lots of features which I found on YouTube video’s. Battery is lasting very well for a number of days (don’t do gaming), especially as I’m only charging it up to the recommended 80%. Found the transfer of data from a Google pixel a bit of a faff, and not everything was transferred to this A55 including some Apps. The performance is good and I’m enjoying this phone. I would, and have already recommended this phone to other people who don’t want to spend silly money on a phone.

I like the A55 for most things. However I wish it had a notification light on a locked screen to tell me I have a message if I haven't heard it arrive. I had a Motorola before and it always flashed a green light on the locked screen to let me know there was a message waiting.

I bought this phone as my 6 year old Samsung galaxy s9 was starting to show signs of wear and tear including the screen going dark at random times. I've only ever had Samsung phones in the past and the a55 does not disappoint. The camera takes such sharp photos at 50mp front camera and the charge is incredible, don't have to charge the phone for 2 days. Samsung switch was such an easy process, even my phone wallpaper carried over! Lovely big screen too. It did feel slightly heavier than my previous galaxy s9 but wouldn't even notice it now I've had the phone for several weeks.

It's quick with a great camera and screen. Unfortunately the back of the phone doesn't lie flat due to the camera lenses, so it will seemingly throw itself from surfaces without warning. My screen was scratched within a week as a result.

I bought this at the end of last year to replace my A71 which died suddenly, no sickness period, no warning just dead :( As I wanted a replacement, I wanted it to be as good or better than the A71 and in some ways it is, however, for what I need it for, this A55 lets me down as I now have to choose between having a dual SIM or a memory card. I need both a second SIM and a memory card for my day-to-day so this was a complete let down, as not all networks currently offer an e-SIM.

In some aspects, in particular the quality of the display, this phone rivals the much more expensive flagship devices. It has a premium-style build which far surpasses the Galaxy A54, and despite Samsung using their own brand of Exynos processor it runs apps both fast and smoothly. An area where it seems not to match the performance of a flagship is gaming, but given the significantly lower pricetag this is hardly surprising. It's a great phone, and definitely up to the task of day-to-day use while providing good performance. The battery life is more than adequate too.

I like how the screen changes according to the lighting. My daughter tells me that my old phone did the same, but I can't say I noticed it. It's great having a battery that lasts two days rather than having to charge 3 times a day. The screen size is good and all in all I'm very pleased with my purchase.

In here, you will be able to choose to press and hold the Side button to turn your phone off or to keep it as standard, where you swipe down the Quick menu to access the power off button on screen. Its ok, but i find it doesn't get as good a reception as my previous A40. It doesn't get 4g in places where the A40 does which is disappointing.

I am very happy with my phone. The battery is good, The camera is also good. The display and performance is good. I am not very happy with the price of the phone and the service, but what can I do? I am not a tech lover, I am a pensioner but none of the fields best describes me.

Not a lot, every time I unplug the cable I get a message saying moisture detected in USB port. I have tried factory reset and still get the message. Sometimes it is OK after a restart, Sometimes not. I will need to take to a Samsung store for repair after only 4 weeks.

I bought this last year as part of an upgrade package. It performs well and unlike my previous make of mobile it feels much more solid. Connectivity is good ,battery good unless you spend a long time browsing . The camera is excellent & like the display of tge a55

O2: Each April, your monthly subscription charge will increase by the Retail Price Index (RPI) rate published in February of that year plus 3.9%.

If RPI is negative, only the 3.9% will be applied.


Vodafone: During your minimum period, each year, on the 1st of April, your monthly plan charge will increase by £1.80 (£1.00 for Pay monthly Basics plans).

Out of bundle charges will increase each April by the Consumer Price Index rate published in January of that year + 3.9%.
