  • What is a 4k monitor?

A 4K monitor is an ultra-high-definition display with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. It delivers four times the pixel density of a standard HD resolution, resulting in sharper images and enhanced picture quality. Samsung’s 4K monitors are perfect for tasks like office work, video editing, and gaming, thanks to their superior display quality.
  • Definitely! A 4K monitor provides crisp, detailed images and sharp text thanks to the ultra-high display resolution. For professionals this is invaluable for design work, creative projects and multitasking. As many content creators and developers now adopt 4K standards, having a compatible monitor ensures you’re ready for the future. And when it comes to relaxing at the end of a long day, streaming content and playing games on a 4K monitor is a real treat. The vibrant colours, fine details, and immersive visuals create a captivating experience.
  • A 4K monitor, also known as an Ultra High Definition (UHD) monitor, has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. This is four times the pixel count of Full HD (1080p), which is 1920 x 1080 pixels. The term “4K” directly refers to the horizontal resolution, which is approximately 4000 pixels.
  • The best size for a 4K monitor really depends on your personal preference and the space you have available. However, for most people a 27-inch to 34-inch 4K monitor strikes a good balance between size and functionality. A Samsung 27-inch 4K monitor is recommended for its versatility, making it a great all-round choice for productivity tasks, gaming, and entertainment. Larger 4K monitors provide an incredibly immersive experience but require more space so may be better for specialist setups.
  • The easiest way to check if a monitor is 4K is to look for the “Display resolution” under “Display settings”. If the resolution is listed as 3840 x 2160, it’s a 4K monitor. Learn more about how to choose the best monitor resolution for you here.
