Great connectivity options via Bluetooth, HDMI, Optic and AVI. I use a wifi smart TV sio Bluetooth is reserved for optional media sources but optic is definitely used and appreciated. Most of the audio controls are verbal so no on screen menus but I bought this for it's simplicity. Built in bass with surround is an added plus to any flat screen and I find it thrilling to expeience.

Don't expect much from the woofer, it's basically useless - 0 is terrible, 6 is a crime to call it 'deep and rich bass'. I was expecting more with the built in woofer. Build quality feels very light and cheap (lower quality materials used perhaps), audio also sounds like it's coming from a tin can. USB port isn't even straight/aligned and feels loose. It gets loud and volume has to be set high to hear voices but the weird thing is that some dialogue is louder than others (for example different characters voices in the same scene in Netflix or Prime). It was meant to replace a 7 yr old Bose solo soundbar which had deeper / better sound but it's being returned and I'll save my money.

For the price point I think the samsung soundbar is fine. It looks good and takes up much less space than multiple speakers and a reciever. I wanted to connect it through digital but tv does not support it. I use it through arch hdmi and it works fine. Bluetooth works great from my phone too. The sound is clear but does not get as loud as I thought it would even at full volume. Bass is ok not great. But it is better than the tv speakers and looks nice. Remote is easy to use also.

I am also enjoying the much better sound with sporting events. It is much better sound that come through the soundbar than using the TV speaker with network and cable channels. Just went real easy with using the cable that comes with the soundbar. Connect the cable from the soundbar to the back of my Samsung smart TV.

I also love the tonal quality of the treble and bass. I'm using it in a studio/music room where I'll practice but also invite other musicians over for "jamming" sessions. Easy enough to connect up, and it just sits there working. Haven't had to mess with it at all. What I don't like however is that it wont sit in FRONT of my QN1EF tv set. Samsung should have put slots in the bottom of the sound bar to enable it to sit OVER the legs of my TV that stick out in front. It currently has to sit behind the TV. Bit annoying that.

This is paired with a Samsung 32" Q8F TV. Set up was quick and easy. The smaller size allows flexibility in placement, appreciated in a smaller room. It drastically improves the audio, which is a weakness in nearly all current flat screen TVs. The thin profile limits the performance of the internal speakers.

We cannot tell the difference between tv sound and this sound bar. The voices are not clear and the sound is not good at all. We thought we’d be blown away by it, instead we are extremely disappointed. We have tried different connections and nothing seems to help. I wish we never got this.

DRC lets you apply dynamic range control to Dolby Digital tracks. While many other reviews of this product state how easily it connects to their TV, I have literally spent hours trying to so with no success using Bluetooth and an eARC cable with no success. Plus, finding a manual for this product online is nigh unto impossible! VERY DISAPPOINTING!!

The HW-B400F offers three ways to connect to your TV: HDMI ARC, digital optical, or Bluetooth. HDMI ARC (recommended): Connect an HDMI cable from your TV’s HDMI ARC port to the soundbar’s HDMI OUT (TV-ARC) port. Turn both devices on and set the soundbar source to D.IN. “TV ARC” will appear on the display and audio will play through the soundbar. Optical: Connect an optical cable from the TV’s OPTICAL OUT to the soundbar’s DIGITAL AUDIO IN (OPTICAL). Set the soundbar to D.IN and change the TV speaker output to External Speakers. You can optimize your audio performance to your liking by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your soundbar remote and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing SURROUND SOUND or STANDARD. By pressing the TONE CONTROL button, you can adjust the volume of the treble or bass sound. Press the button to select TREBLE or BASS and then adjust the volume between -6~+6 by using the Up/Down buttons. Press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the sound occasionally dropping from your soundbar. You may first want to check the cable connection of the soundbar to the TV or external device to ensure it is secure and properly connected to the correct port. In addition to checking the connections of the soundbar, please make sure your soundbar is using the latest firmware version. Updating the firmware on your soundbar gives you all the benefits of the latest improvements. You can update your firmware by using a USB device. You may also want to initialize your soundbar by pressing the - and + (volume) buttons on the top of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. “INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset. Please know, this will reset all settings on the soundbar back to default; any sound adjustments will need to be performed again. Should you continue to experience audio dropouts, and are connected wirelessly, please use the included cable to connect the soundbar to the TV. Using a wired connection instead of wireless often eliminates the issue entirely and improves the user experience. I hope these tips help you enjoy your new product.
