We have been using this hob for just under 12 months now and only a couple of weeks ago noticed that the metal grease filter is falling appart even though the cleaning guidelines have been followed religiously, pieces of the aluminium filter are actually falling off, I contacted Samsung customer care to claim on the "5 year warranty" and was told on numerous occasions and by different members of customer service staff that the filter is a "consumable item" and therefore is not covered under warranty and needs to be replaced once or twice a year, normally this would not be an issue and expected because most filters are of the paper / carbon type and cost very little to replace unfortunately that is not the case with this filter because this filter is metal and costs £300 + to replace. You will find no mention of this on the description on the website or in any manual or paperwork supplied with the item. My complaint was excalated and apparently reviewed by the "senior people" whoever they are and they now say that the filter does not have to be changed once or twice a year but "when needed" but is still a "consumable item" and not covered under warranty that costs £300+ to replace (even the escalations advisor thought that the £300 + included the cast iron grill...it does not), If I had known this "consumable" item is that expensive I would not have bought the item...apparently I have damaged the filter by using and cleaning it (following the guidelines). I think it would be reasonable to include this information so that any potential buyer can make an informed decision, I for one would not have bought this hob with a filter that fails in under 12 months and costs so much to replace. CAVEAT EMPTOR The small claims court awaits !

Fantastic hob, absolutely love cooking on it. I'm a keen cook who for the past 40 odd years has cooked on gas. I was quite apprehensive about an electric hob but I have to say I love it! I love the inbuilt extractor fan , amazing! No smells or steam. Very impressed after using it for the past 3 months.

We recently purchased this induction hob as it looks amazing with its seamless and premium flushed design. However to our disappointment we discovered that the external extraction is not included with this model. Apparently this is the difference between the model ending with VK and UK. We have since tried to purchase this kit but to no avail. Without this, our only option is to return this appliance which will be a real shame as we were hoping to purchase other Samsung appliances for our new kitchen.

item ventilation ducting (which is huge) meant it would not fit into the standard depth kitchen unit resulting in it being unusable. The dimensions for that element are not clearly shown and was only identified when the fitter came to fit as part of a kitchen refurbishment. This was unfortunately a couple of days after the 14 day returns and am now left with a useless item and very out of pocket as I have been told it cannot be returned. Beware that you have sufficient space for this item and don't fall into my trap!

This hob is lovely and modern to look at. Bought this induction hob when getting a new kitchen fitted, switching from gas. Wish I never now as I thought you would be able to have at least 4 pots boiling at one time however had an engineer out and spoke with Samsung tech who say this is how this job works and you can’t have 2 pots boiling on the same side.

Love the way it works. This hub is highly responsive and it's like having gas in fact it's almost more responsive than gas when you turn down the power we went from gas to electric and absolutely love this would highly recommend
