Had this less than a year and the freezer and ice machine hav stopped working 3 times. First due to the heatwave and us not properly keeping air vents clear but now, with all precautions sorted it is still breaking down. This third time, after hearing loud motor noises and receiving error codes and spending 45 minutes on the phone to book an engineer call out, the next available date for an engineer is 10 days away. Our food is currently melting and we have to wait 10 days to get someone to look at it. This is the worst appliance I have ever bought. In addition, there is no flexibility in storage. No shelf is adjustable. Everything is fixed and there is loads of wasted space. The door in both the fridge and freezer can store very little with loads of space above things. The best thing that could happen is receiving a refund on this crappy fridge so that we can buy another make of fridge. But I doubt we will be that lucky. Oh, and the crushed ice is hardly crushed at all. Full of regret

I would not recommend buying this product. After only three years of use, it has started making a loud noise, and Samsung has told me that it is out of warranty, despite the product having been registered. I paid almost £2,000 for this appliance, so I expected much better quality and durability. Unfortunately, I feel that this was not money well spent. The way this issue has been handled has also been very disappointing. After this experience, I will think twice before purchasing Samsung products again and, unfortunately, I will be looking at other brands in the future. Very disappointed with both the product and the customer service.

I bought this fridge freezer as were relatively happy with an older Samsung model we had (despite the fact that it only lasted us the bare 10 years). I bought the model as I knew it would fit but I have been quite disappointed with the design. Water filter is now incorporated in the supply line at back of fridge (rather than inside) and you have to pull fridge out to change the filter. Consequently smaller amount of water is chilled. Handles are a really poor design and the kids regularly catch their fingers. Design and layout is quite poor. All in, we are considering replacing this fridge freezer even though its not broke!

A great well built machine. Love the ice-maker. Non-plumbed in version so easy to install - just plug in and fill the internal tank with water. Buying Samsung again because the last one lasted 17 years.

This is the 2nd Samsung fridge freezer we’ve bought. The last one was over 10 years old and brilliant but sadly got a gas leak. So we replaced it with its newer model and it’s far better… more economical, seems more space and easier to clean. We love Samsung products and the long guarantee is a bonus. Quality products.

This was to replace a Samsung American style fridge we had for 19 years. It had an amazing amount of space inside both the fridge and freezer, the doors and drawers and shelves are all great. The ice and water dispenser in the new machine are not as good as the old one, the pipe for the cold water is badly designed. The lip for drops or spills on the water dispenser is less deep than my previous model, so changes have been done and it has become a retro step... This one is much more energy efficient and it maintains a cool temp throughout the fridge. I have added it to my smart features so hopefully that will be a bonus.

On the plus side, it's a lovely stainless steel colour, has loads of storage space and is virtually silent in operation. However, there are a number of design flaws which mean I can't recommend it. The water dispenser has no light, so you often splash water everywhere if you don't have the glass in the right spot. And the ice comes out a different hole, so that can go on the floor. The drip tray is basically non existent, so do not buy this if you have an expensive wooden floor. Another serious design failure is the bottom fridge door doesn't come out unless you fully open the door, which means the door will get scratched every time you forget to do so.

Not enough drawers. Compartments hard to access as drawers don’t fully open. The ice making unit despatches ice in bursts and ends up falling on the floor. There is no drip catching tray under the water dispensing unit and the water tends to spill out down the front of the fridge and onto the floor, my wood floor is already showing signs of water damage.

Not enough storage drawers. Ice delivery is too severe, it delivers ice in a burst. Too many cubes at once. The water filter is inaccessible. Whist there is much to like about this unit there is also a lot of shortcomings.

My old samsung American style plumbed in fridge freezer lasted 16 years, so it was always going to be the case that I would be purchasing another samsung, This one though being the same exterior size is a lot bigger inside than my old one, I've only had this a couple of days but have noticed it uses half of thr electricity of my last fridge/freezer, the only problem i have encountered is the samsung filter supplied leaked, it must be faulty because i put my old one back on and no leak, but apart from that it's seems a good buy.

The freezer has been broken for almost two months, also ice dispenser has been broken for almost two months. Samsung has sent engineers 5x to fix it and failed every single time resulting in my food going to waste three times. The latest repair resulted in fridge side also not working. The last phone call to Samsung that lasted 1h 3mins resulted in … nothing they can do but they’ve created an email reference and someone will contact me. I have a toddler and no fridge or freezer. This is unbelievable from Samsung.

Beautiful looking piece of cooling technology. Huge capacity of the fridge and freezer. It makes a great impression outside and inside. Energy class C. Quiet operation. Very wide open doors. Separate cooling system for the fridge and freezer. Poor and imprecise instructions. I had to squeeze the fridge through a 70 cm gap, so I had to unscrew the door. Quite an easy operation but not described in detail in the instructions. Simple water and filter connection. Slight problems with pulling out the polystyrene from under the fridge. Ultimately, a very well-made fridge, looks good inside and outside. Well-chilled and tasty water and ice. I definitely recommend it! I love it!

Bought to replace a 20 year old Samsung fridge freezer. It was a challenge to find a similar replacement for our last model to fit the required space. We almost managed it. A different set up on the top meant we are having to redo our wine rack which affected how far it went back, but otherwise about the same. Still getting used to the hidden handles and the plastic containers which are more likely to become damaged than our last ones, especially the bottom ones with flaps on. Plenty of room inside. Nice and quiet with good energy rating of C. Not sure about water and ice dispenser as it seems a bit messy coming out. Seems like a good value buy as we didn’t want a very high tech model but wanted a plumbed in model.

After 15 years with our previous Samsung which did have non plumbed water, we are so pleased with this model, non plumbed water and ice. We cannot believe the improved space especially in the fridge section. The freezer section is also bigger than our old one despite having the ice maker in there. The cooling is fantastic. We are still trying to organise the fridge section, there is so much room. The design is very sleek and feels solid and reliable. We are extremely pleased at the moment with this fridge/freezer.

We've wanted an American style fridge freezer for a while and this really doesn't disappoint. The fridge capacity is huge, the filtered water and ice were a real selling point and are constantly used. The fridge temperature is consistent from top to bottom and the appliance looks fantastic in our kitchen. Due to the size we did have to take the doors off of the unit and our back door off to get it in the house but instructions were clear and it was well worth the hassle. All covered by a 5 year warranty too.

After 2.5 years the electrics in the freezer door broke and the ice machine/water dispenser would not work. This would be fine but the door flap is continuously opening and closing making crazy amounts of noise. Repair quoted at £550, half the price of the unit. A machine costing over £1000 should have longer than 2.5 years worth of life. Poor quality from Samsung

Similar to my previous Samsung fridge/freezer, appears to have far more internal storage space in the fridge and freezer. It lacks a wine rack even when there is facility to fit one in the grooves below the top shelf. Customer Service and Expert Chat deny one is available but according to reviews it may be available on espares? I would recommend to a friend if a wine rack was available. Build quality is cheaper than my last one. Lacks physical operating instructions.

We purchased this to replace our current American style fridge freezer the Samsung has a bigger capacity, more compartments, from what I can tell the cooling is much better it's one of only a few that are C rated for energy and as you'd expect from Samsung has modern technology built in, all in all this has exceeded our expectations.

This new fridge freezer replaces a previous American Samsung FF which has given many years of excellent service. So far we are extremely pleased with it. Very quiet and seems to hold slightly more than the previous one. One issue is that the ice/crushed ice feature seems happier with a wider glass as some ice usually ends on the floor. However maybe practice with this will help!

Fabulous upgrade from my 15 year old Samsung side by side. The old one was suffering from ice buildup behind the cover and becoming noisy and inefficient ( ~2kWh/day ). This RS8000 is much more economical, using between 500 and 900wh/day, averaging 600wh/day so not quite 1/3 of the consumption and is much much quieter. Capacity is great, there's a lot more space in the same sized box though it's quite regimented and not as flexible in layout. Lots more space in the doors for bottles and jars. As some have said already, the 'black' version is actually dark grey and only on the doors. The sides are still stainless but I don't mind, it still looks great. Downsides. There's no flexibility to move the shelves around, you get what your given. Fine by me, it's admittedly slightly more awkward to organise inside but 3 weeks in and it's still annoying my wife ( any my daughter who doesn't like the LED lighting inside!) My bugbear is that the salad drawer won't open properly unless the fridge door is fully swung back, else it hits the edge of the door, denting it! Samsung, take an angle off the salad drawer or make the handle narrower, thanks :D Overall, really happy with the purchase and the guys who delivered it ( remember if you're unpacking yourself there is polystyrene underneath as well and it's heavy! ) Bough on interest free over 3 years, covering 1/3 of the payment in power savings, should pay for itself in ten years.

Replaced my old one after just over 10 years of use and not worth repairing. The new one is great, same size, but more room inside, good layout, faster water dispensing and a pit more room so I can now get a pint glass under easily. Bought black finish this time (silver/grey last time) and it looks lovely. Not shiny and doesn’t tend to show fingerprints.

Our previous Samsung fridge was finally replaced after 13 years of loyal service. Unfortunately we couldn't stop the ice buildup in the freezer so it was time to go for a new one. We paid for delivery, installation and removal of the old American fridge freezer and packaging. This was well worth the money and everything went smoothly. I was apprehensive about getting a new appliance as the old one was so good for so long. Initial impressions of the new fridge/freezer are: 1) Definitely has a premium feel and really happy with the black finish on the door. It feels more refined than the old one, not cheaper. 2) Really like the hidden handles which makes the front door a lot cleaner and modern. 3) The fridge and freezer have noticeably more space for storage. Others have complained about the lack of shelf flexibility but I don't see an issue. The fridge storage is deeper with significantly more space in the door shelves. The ice machine is now positioned in such a way that you have additional shelf space in the freezer. 4) I like the metal finish at the back of both the fridge and freezer. I also like the metal edge to the shelves which adds a premium feel. 5) The Samsung App is handy to check the temperature and turn off the ice maker. 6) The appliance is significantly more energy efficient compared to other models (C rating) and makes minimal noice. 7) The ice dispenser if better with good cubes and a metal part to crush the ice which seems effective. It's quieter and the ice dispenses much better. Our old one was very unpredictable. What could be better? 1) We do miss the LED light at the water dispenser. 2) There was separate ice and water dispensers on the old fridge. It's not a dealbreaker but it's just a bit fiddly compared to the old one. We have already got used to it. One thing to note: The ice is now proper cubes and not the old half moon shape. This made it easier for the old ice cubes to get into the kids water bottles for school. We need to crush the ice now which isn't a big deal. Overall this is an excellent appliance and feels like an upgrade from the old one. A light on the water/ice dispenser would be the icing on the cake. When you factor in inflation this broadly cost the same as what we paid for our last one 13 years ago (£1000). Time will tell if it can be as reliable but we have registered for the 5 year warranty through Samsung UK.

Great size overall with lots of shelves and door storage to keep everything in view and organised in the fridge side. I would just like to have the addition of some clear baskets in the freezer side. The frozen items have got to be really neatly stacked, which is not always possible due to item size and packaging. If not they just slide out. The addition of some kind of draw or drop down flap would solve this problem. Otherwise I am loving all of its features!

I purchased this fridge online on Friday and it arrived the next day as promised by the online retailer Marks Electrics. Having had an LG brand for the last 20 years and being very pleased with it I was a little nervous about choosing a different brand. However, this fridge freezer is very pleasing on the eye and has more room than my LG had. I’m very pleased with it so far. It is very quiet, the ice doesn’t start working until the freezer is at the right temperature, it can take several hours so don’t worry it will produce ice. I read the reviews before purchasing and will join the many others who have recommended it.

Much more space inside the same volume as my 18 years old American Style fridge this is replacing. Other features: Very quiet and the C energy rating is one of the best on the market for fridges in 2024. Hardly any complaints. Small inconveniences include: the ice compartment is very small compared with the old fridge and other modern ice-makers, including from Samsung. More lights inside, other than the small ceiling LED strip, would increase the appeal and convenience. The smart things / wifi connectivity makes it look modern but it's a gimmick, not much to control other than what's on the panel inside the fridge. The AI feature regarding smart cooling has no feedback to the user so it's impossible to say if it does anything at all. Some charts or any feedback at all would make it meaningful. The Samsung Ireland website never worked for registering any products. I had a hard time availing of the 5 years warranty advertised.

First impressions count and this Fridge/Freezer does not disappoint. It looks stunning in our chosen finish - Black Stainless Steel. The interior is spacious and well designed with just the right number of shelves, drawers and door bins, all very easily removed for cleaning when necessary. The controls for all functions are on a touch panel inside the Fridge section so as not to detract from the clean lines of the exterior. The controls are logical and simple to use. In addition to those interior controls the unit has Wi-Fi so all controls can be accessed on your device through the Smart Things app. Samsung have thought of everything! The Water Dispenser and Ice Making facilities blend unobtrusively into the front of the Freezer door and both work faultlessly delivering chilled drinking water and perfect ice, either cubed or crushed. The whole unit runs very quietly and appears to be quite economical to run, as advertised. I can't fault this unit in any way whatsoever and believe Samsung have excelled themselves in designing and making the perfect Fridge/Freezer. Well done Samsung!

My twenty year old Samsung american fridge freezer was better the water filter was in the fridge not behind it and the fridge door had a flap big enough for milk and butter at a slightly increased temperature

I like that you can see everything when you open the doors. It is very quiet when operating. The only thing I would say is that the ice takes a long time to form. Also very good that the water filter does not need renewing

Am so disappointed, wanted a black fridge so brought the Black Series 8, but what I’ve got is a grey fridge with black doors, this was not on the spec, wish I had seen the reviews before now as it’s mentioned in them! Customer service just says the fridges and doors vary in colour!

This fridge freezer is very spacious. Loads of room on all the shelves to store small and large items. I also love the design of the wine rack. Also the compartments on the door and very deep, quite spacious and of excellent design. It runs very silently. The colour suits our kitchen due to other appliances being of the same material.
