Received monitor a day late, but I don't mind about that. There is slight damage to the top left of the monitor during delivery, which doesn't effect the screen itself so it is visible. Even though there is a film protecting the monitor, it was slightly lifted in the damaged corner. I'm also having a problem when the screen has been off for a while, and turn it back on it shows white noise all over the screen when using game mode (Freesync Premium). Turning off game mode makes the screen flicker every few seconds, only way to fix both properly is turn off power from the plug and power back on again, which is quite annoying. I may return this monitor because of that, I expect perfect condition of the monitor, especially at this price, hopefully the replacements works properly. I have contacted support about my issue, if they can't resolve the issues, then it will have to be returned, which is unfortunate, because it is an otherwise great monitor. I will be buying a replacement, as I really do like the monitor and may simply have received a faulty one. Usage wise, it supports 175Hz at 10bit colour, unlike Alienware which only supports up to 144Hz with 10bit colour and 175Hz with 8bit. Had to buy my own HDMI 2.1 cable because of them using HDMI micro. However they do at least provide DP 1.4 to DP mini cable, but it is very short for my use, so I have to buy another. HDMI 2.1 is also supported means you can use highest refresh rate and colours with that too if that was your choice. I use my PS5 with this monitor as well, obviously full wide-screen is not supported as PS5 is limited to 16:9 aspect ratio, but it still gives you the equivalent of 27in 1440p monitor, so I am happy with that. As long as you know what to expect that's fine. Also supports high refresh rate, however VRR only works at 1080p or 2160p (4K). The monitor also comes with TV features and streaming features, which is a nice addition, but it's not something I need or use, I haven't really set that part of the monitor up, so I can't really comment on how good that part is. Like I said, performance is great on this monitor, great for games and movies, picture quality of QD OLED is amazing and 175Hz is good enough for competitive games as well.

As a monitor this really nice, gives everything you'd expect from an OLED panel. the design is minimal and quite sleek. but i do not like the silver colour as at night, when gaming, you can see the outline of the monitor, it should of been black. The UI and TV apps aren't great, they feel slow to load and use. it just needs to be snappier. YOU CANT simply change the input source from the remote, it takes you to the home screen then you have to scroll left off the home then scroll down to the menu, then scroll across to connected devices and all this done quite sluggishly, just give me a button on the remote. I don't need a Disney button or a Netflix button, just a simple input source switch. But as a monitor it is really nice and has truly transformed my gaming experience, it just feels like Samsung have tacked on their TV apps and not given it much thought.

Massive coil whine as another customer stated. I would of gave this 5 stars tbh but the coil whine is a killer for me. I have sensitive hearing as it is and get major headache sitting in front of the display for any period of time. I really love the display itself though. Amazing picture quality in SDR and HDR content. Super fast response time, 0 motion blur. This is my first OLED monitor and am so disappointed that such a flaw could pass QA. A replacement is on its way but have little faith that I will win coil whine lottery. A refund will be in order if this is the case that there is a bad batch in circulation

Great picture sluggish software,if you have it in the same room as a Samsung TV, its a nightmare as both remote controls operate both devices. I would love to disable the smart features as they just get in the way. Why would you need smart features when your connected to a pc? Seems like Samsung just put there software of a TV on there. 12 bit colour at 175hz is available via hdmi. Using the smart features Netflix dosent display in a 21.9 format. I was looking forward to those black bars to disappear shown on a 16.9 TV when watching certain movies. But I get black bars top and also to the side. Abl isn't as strong as certain oled displays. Overall decent display that needs software updates.

As an update to my previous review (can't edit it for some reason) I managed to fix the white noise issue by updating the firmware through WiFi connection of the monitor that issue was fixed. However I do still have small niggling issues like the monitor waking up from sleep by itself. The way to fix that is to change power saving settings from on to off, or off to on (4 hours) a bit annoying but it works. Hopefully this is also fixed at some point through a firmware update. Screen quality itself is still amazing, playing games, watching movies is second to none experience.

The person above me named Dazko is bad :( he didn't actually put any research into this monitor because if he did, he would know that PS5 does not support ultra-wide P.S I received my model, and it was amazing with the oled I 100% recommend this product

I would argue that this is the most pleasant looking ultrawide OLED. After a few months of use, I have found the following problems that have made me wish I considered a different brand for ultrawide OLED needs. 1. The designers opted for an eARC HDMI port. Sounds great right? Well, it's not. All Windows PC's that utilize either NVidia and AMD GPU's don't output Dolby Atmos to displayport connections. It only works with HDMI. The best solution would have been for this monitor to use audio "Passthrough" from PC to monitor then to soundbar. However, this can't be done because Samsung only has a displayport and HDMI port. The correct solution would have been to have two HDMI 2.1 ports with one of them being eARC so you could get Dolby Atmos passthrough from your PC and use eArc for your Atmos sound system. 2. They used Micro HDMI instead of normal HDMI. You are going to need to pay extra money for HDMI 2.1 cable that is long enough. You can find HDMI 2.1 cables cheaply at places like BB, Walmart, Target, etc. Guess how many brick and mortar retailers carry "Micro HDMI 2.1" cables? Zero. I live in big city and HDMI 2.0 is the fastest HDMI cable available locally at BB, so I had to order a cable online. 3. The Tizen OS is garbage. In practice, it seems like it could be useful. The problems is that all the streaming services like Disney+, Youtube and Amazon Prime don't recognize the monitor as a TV monitor, but rather a computer monitor. So you end up getting a great 3440x1440 resolution but all the apps will only output 1080p streaming. This results in *ALL* Tizen services having garbage/pixelated streaming services. 4. In addition to #3, all Tizen OS streaming services don't crop. This results in not only having a horrible looking 1080p streaming video, but if it's 21:9 originally, it plays as 16:9 with giant black bars. 5. I've had this monitor for three firmware updates and Samsung hasn't addressed issue where displayport on PC will not wake up monitor. You have to physically turn it on with button on monitor or Samsung remote. I didn't know these things going in. The general consensus with Samsung monitors is that there is a huge disconnect between those who build the monitors and those who program their firmware. In both cases, it seems like they are done by people who don't play games and enjoy content nor do they appear to beta test their own firmware solutions. I can no longer return it, so I plan on just using it for a year or two until something better comes out.

This monitor is awesome. Fanstastic build quality, amazing picture, so good to play games on. It actually does work with the PS5, the people who're saying it doesn't are simply wrong. I have a reddit post in oled gaming about this monitor, I plugged it into my PS5 and it does work. It actually put the PS5 settings to 1440p and it stretched the picture so it filled the whole screen with black bars. I displayed picture and video evidence of this working in the post about the monitor. Overall the monitor is a fantastic overall build quality, it looks amazing. picture really pops with amazing blacks, lots of nits for brightness and games look out of this world. With HDMI 2.1 and an adaptor I'm able to play to select 12bit 175hz in the Nvidia control panel. This monitor is a beast!

Having almost nothing to complain about except for one thing. Whites are almost yellow. Please Samsung you got to fix this. Using Cool profile isn't the answer. Maybe if you add colour temperature over white balance like LG will fix this problem.

Great looking monitor. Love the design except the silver edges/frame around the monitor, black could have been so much better! Great picture quality but... the software is very poor. Slow and unintuitive navigation. Switching between the PC mode and others is painful. Shame that this monitor is a "smart" and more importantly, with not too well executed software. Unfortunately, I had to return the monitor as it was very annoying to navigate it, change to "eco" etc etc

Having owned this monitor for 6 months, and it was purchased direct from Samsung, will think i can review with honesty, the image quality on the monitor is great, clear and clean, with no issues to report while gaming. However this is where to good news ends, The monitor stand looks nice, but the support is not there, the screen is not very planted. i have only used the Mini DP port, i have tried the USB-C to laptop, but it refused to work, Plug into a different monitor, and no problems. So this failure was Samsung based. But for me the biggest annoyance is the power down to sleep, it never wakes up on its own, and i have yet to find a way to do it. Personally I would not recommend this monitor, on a side note. I tried to return my monitor 31 days after purchase, but Samsung refused to take it back. I explained i had been away when it was delivered, and provided proof..

I've been using this monitor for around a week now, and decided to write a review to help some people out. First off, the build quality of this monitor is insane. It's really a force to be reckoned with, looks absolutely stunning in my office! It has nice lighting at the back which is excellent for gaming and working at night. The speakers are a 7/10 for me - I'd say get a soundbar if you're looking for that 360 degree audio with bass and better tone. It is fitted with smart audio tracking which is quite noticeable actually when you play games. Videos and movies sound more than fine though. The remote is easy to use and navigate - finished in a nice white colour with rubber buttons. The display is OLED, so you can expect your eyes to hurt a bit which is why after 6pm, I turn on eye saver mode which really helps you focus and not squint too much. It's perfectly fine during daytime though, but brightness can be adjusted to your liking of course. I'm a uni student and got this for productivity purposes which connects to my M1 Macbook Pro as an extra display. It easily fits three tabs which for me are primarily Excel, C++, Python, Bloomberg, Lectures etc. The curved display is very sleek and sort of hugs you, which is nice when you're multitasking. So to sum up, the pros are: - Great build quality - Compact stand and perfect for desks with not a lot of depth (19cm depth) - Good speakers - Great for productivity and gaming - Amazing OLED display - Very small bezels - Works a treat once you connect everything... I mean, for the price you pay this is the least you'd expect! Now, it doesn't deserve 5 stars and I'll explain why. For a 4 figure sum, I expect the smart features to work flawlessly. Maybe it's just because it requires a software update of some sort... I don't really know. But you're honestly better off watching movies on Netflix, Prime etc. on a web browser when connected to your PC/Laptop. This is a shame as the smart features would be quite cool if they were responsive enough. They work like I'm navigating a Samsung Galaxy S5. This brings me to my next point. Netflix, Prime and other platforms don't necessarily support 21:9 aspect ratio video streaming. Some of the newer films actually do support it so you can watch new series/movies with the beautiful 21:9 and it works perfectly. But your older movies will have two black bars squishing the 16:9 picture. I hope that developers start to support 21:9 viewing, but this isn't a huge issue with me, as again, this is primarily a gaming monitor which is flawless when connected to a game. So if you're getting this as a "TV", don't! My next point isn't really a bad thing, but if you want to connect your monitor to a Macbook, make sure to purchase a USB-C to USB-C cable. Otherwise, you'll be stuck with a 16:9 home screen with two black bars at all times. It's very responsive when connected as I have advised. Mini DP 1.4 to HDMI (the monitor actually comes with it) works perfectly when connected to PC only. Can't speak for XBOX and PS4/5 as I have neither. The natural white colour on the OLED is a little bit yellow too. I'm sure developers will get onto that but again, not a big deal for me as it's crisp enough for me to be productive and play games. For productivity, this monitor is the daddy! But if budget is an issue, look at cheaper monitors because you'd get the same experience on a cheaper ultrawide from LG/HP. So the cons are: - Expired smart TV experience - Meh for TV and Movie streaming unless you get a Chrome extension which actually works in 2022 lol, or you find a newer movie which supports 21:9 - USB-C to USB-C only for Macbooks if you want 21:9 - White colour off a little bit - A little bit too much money... Thus, I've given a 4/5. Great monitor overall, but pricey! Highly recommend for those who want a compact but large monitor, for PC gamers, and those who need multiple tabs open at once (music producers, programmers, uni students, traders).

Absolutely horrible support... Cannot get a single straight answer. For example, this monitor has issues with Free Sunc as it does not support Free Sync Premium *Pro*, yet it has been rumoured to come out with a software update that they don't have a timeline on. Also, Picture by Picture support seems more than lacklustre. Save a few pounds, and go with the Alienware one... Not to mention that their support and features and warranty is seemingly ten times better even though it has the same panel.

Peak Brightness has been disabled in game mode when HDR is not enabled in the latest firmware, every other firmware before 1504 it was fine. USB-C connection to my laptop drops after monitor goes into sleep, needs a reboot. DP doesn't always wake either on sleep. HDMI now only works as of latest update without issues.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on your Odyssey OLED. We're sorry to learn you've encountered issues since updating your firmware. We understand the importance of reliable performance, and we're committed to resolving any issues you're encountering. It is our understanding that you were previously able to amend Peak Brightness when HDR wasn't active. We can confirm that Peak Brightness is only available when an HDR signal is being received by the monitor. The previous versions of firmware incorrectly allowed this feature to be used when receiving an SDR signal, and the update was a corrective action. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. As for the issue you've faced with Sleep Mode, we recommend checking for any pending updates, as these are regularly released to improve the stability and function of your monitor. You can do this by heading to Settings > Support > Software Update > Update Now. Screen is good. But the software is so bloated and hard to use. I have two computers connected to this monitor, and auto switch often not working, and manually switch need to take multiple steps to navigate through confusing and sluggish user interface. The system is so confused, sluggish and bloated because it designed for a TV not a monitor. And there is no way to get rid of those bloatware and useless features.

Incredible picture and enhanced 4k gaming experience. I've set this up with a RTX4090 gaming rig and the graphics are phenomenal, 175hz,4k ultra settings and I'm blown away. Couldn’t connect to my PS5, got a micro HDMI adapter for my HDMI cable and yet it didn’t work! Again I had to buy a direct cable which support micro HDMI and a normal HDMI and finally mange to make it work after an hour long call with Samsung. If anyone can’t connect simple trick is turn off the monitor and unplug everything and then hold down the power button for 15 sec’s and it did the trick. Now, let’s talk about the build in Samsung interface, it’s shocking how Samsung hub is soo laggy!!! It’s soo hard to navigate. Also, there’s no direct button or option to change the source of your display, you have to navigate all the way in setting and then you select your pc or ps5. I can’t believe they didn’t added a single button to switch between different source quickly. If you are buying this monitor for PS5 then I DO NOT RECOMMEND!! The display looks terrible when it’s connected to PS5. The only reason I gave 2 star is because the product looks aesthetically pleasing. They really build a good looking monitor, loved it! But only they could have put some simple features which are must needed could have made it a better monitor. This monitor is not for me! I would prefer Samsung Odyssey G8 4k 240hz monitor over this! Actually I’m buying that monitor and returning this one. Overall it’s okay!

I've been on the ultrawide train for a while, and trust me, once you're used to ultrawides it's difficult to stomach 16:9 screens anymore, they just feel cramped. And this is very much standard issue ultrawide, 34" and capped at only 1440p, I do wish monitor manufacturers would bump up to 5120 x 2160, it's been long enough. That aside, there are some things which make this display stand out. First off, it's QD-OLED. As an owner of a few W-OLED TVs the difference is aparent right away, QD OLED really does deliver a more saturated image, honestly too saturated out of the box. Of course you get those perfect OLED blacks as well, and thankfully this is a glossy screen so there's no fuzzy matte coating there to ruin your day and wash everything out. Peak brightness however is honestly quite poor. Samsung's QD-OLED TVs can surpass 1000 nits, but these monitors are capped at 400nits. There is a mode where it can theoretically hit 1000 nits on a tiny, tiny window, but this darkens the screen in normal use so I wouldn't recommend it. Because of this HDR performance is only okay-ish in a dark room, but non existent in a light room. Other things of note, there's no G-Sync. It does have FreeSync and after updating the firmware (a process which involved using a USB stick (as the wi-fi updates never work) and hours spent in Reddit forums trying to persuade it to actually update) I got it to work as a G-Sync compatible screen. (out of the box the G-Sync compatability was horribly broken and a juddery mess) And it works, mostly anyway. Compared to real G-Sync Ultimate it has a smaller VRR range and there are some wobbles and stutters from time to time, but it's acceptable for the most part. Please Samsung, real G-Sync next tim, stop pinching pennies. The refresh is 175hz which is okay, albeit a touch dated. I always prefer to keep it divisible by 60 to avoid issues with frame pacing on video, so 240hz would have been much better. Still, it's not a deal breaker. Tthis is also a good lookng display physically, if you ignore the bizarre looking back then you're left with a clean metal leg and minimalist surround. Also of note for reasons I doubt even Samsung understand it uses mini Display port and mini HDMI. One final gripe, the software in this thing is ripped straight from a smart TV, as is the remote control. It makes zero sense for a monitor and is 100% super laggy bloatware covered in adverts. The remote is also one of the flimsiest and cheapest feeling remotes I've ever come across, and whilst is has those tacky sponsored advert buttons for Netflix etc it doesn't have an input switch button. Just bizarre. This is a honestly a mixed bag. The picture quality is fine if dim, but the negatives are impossible to ignore. Hopefully a V2 will come along at some point which ditches the smart TV OS and remote, has real G-Sync, and can deliver more impactful HDR.

Samsung UK Reviews Team

Thank you for your feedback, as we're sure that other customers will find the details that you've included in it very useful. It's great to see that your G85SB Odyssey is proving to be a worthy ultra-wide gaming monitor when compared next to previous models that you've experienced. The 175hz refresh rate and 0.03ms GTG response time means that it will easily keep up with even the most graphically intense AAA games, to keep you one step ahead of your competition at all times. The FreeSync also helps towards this, but we're pleased to see that you have been unable to apply G-Sync as well, for even more robust connectivity. The combination of the OLED and the Neo Quantum Processor will deliver the whitest whites, the deepest blacks, and a near infinite colour palette, so that you can view everything exactly as the developers intended. We know that not everyone customer wants the same thing, which is why we've also packed it with plenty of options in the settings so that everyone can have it set up to suit their personal tastes. The glossy finish helps ensure that there is no distraction from any of this quality. We are happy to take on board your comment regarding the lack of nits, so we can keep on giving customers everything that they'd want. We're also happy to take on board you comment about the software, and the remote. The interface is just as compatible as everything else, so that it can be set up for how everyone would want it. While we would be unable to alter the remote at this stage, your suggestions will help us make the necessary improvements. ^DB at Samsung Support
