What to do when your Samsung Galaxy Watch cannot connect to Wi-Fi

Updated : 21st August, 2026

Your Galaxy Watch can use the same Wi-Fi network as your phone. However, Wi-Fi may not remain active at all times. When your watch is connected to your phone using Bluetooth, the Wi-Fi connection may be turned off or inactive to save battery. If your watch is out of range and cannot connect to Wi-Fi, follow the steps below.

Important: When your watch is connected to your phone via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi is turned off to conserve battery life.

The watch will use Wi-Fi again in the following situations:

  • When the connection between your phone and watch is disconnected.
  • When an app requires Wi-Fi connection.
  • While the watch is charging.
  • When downloading a software update.
  • When a Wi-Fi connection is otherwise required.

To connect to a hidden network, tap Add network, select a security type if required, and enter the network name and passoword. Then Tap Save.

Please note:

  • When your watch is connected to a Galaxy device, Sync Wi-Fi profile allows Wi-Fi networks to be saved on the Galaxy device to sync with the watch. Your watch will then automatically connect to saved Wi-Fi networks. This feature may only be available on certain watch models. Enterprise AP Wi-Fi profiles are not supported.
  • Wi-Fi settings cannot be managed on the Galaxy Fit.

Make sure your Wi-Fi network is working properly.

  • Connect your phone (or another device) to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Check if the device can access the internet.

Troubleshooting: If the device cannot connect or has no internet access, restart the router and try again.

Please note: Some router security settings may prevent your Galaxy Watch from connecting.

If the issue continues, try resetting your Galaxy Watch.

Please note: Back up your data using the Galaxy Wearable app before resetting your watch. Samsung is not responsible for data loss.
