How to troubleshoot when Bluetooth headset audio is unstable

By connecting a Bluetooth headset to your device, you can listen to music or make calls. If audio is unstable while using a Bluetooth headset, it may be due to a faulty connection between your device and headset, the surrounding environment or the Bluetooth cache. Follow the guide below to troubleshoot your Bluetooth headset audio issue.

The surrounding environment may affect Bluetooth connection. Abrupt movement or distance between the devices may interfere with the connection as well. Connection might also be interrupted if you’re in a crowded area, or if you’re using metallic stickers or a protective cover near the antenna of your device.

  • Keep both your Galaxy device and Bluetooth headset close to you, and make sure there’s nothing in between them.
  • The connection may be unstable if the device is in your pocket or your bag, so keep the device close to your headset.
  • Move away from crowded areas or a spot with frequent Wi-Fi usage.
  • Keep away from bare cables, microwave ovens, and wireless speakers, or turn off such gadgets if you must be near them.
  • When streaming music online, the connection status may affect the sound quality. In this case, try downloading music to play.

Note:

  • If the Bluetooth headset keeps disconnecting, please visit the nearest service centre to have your device properly checked.
  • Device screenshots and menus may vary depending on the device model and software version.
