The phone I am using is a work phone, and I like it. My personal phone is also a Samsung, so the menu and interface are familiar to me. I did experience some difficulty during the initial setup, as it required transferring information directly from another phone, which I didn’t actually have available. I couldn’t see a “skip” option anywhere, which was a bit confusing. Other than that, I find the phone to be very good. I really like the camera quality — the colours are extremely rich and vibrant. The display is large and easy to use. Overall, I’m very satisfied. Battery good, as is brand new.

I bought this phone on PAYG and was not expecting much as it was cheap (paid £200). First impressions was how up to date the handset is, a large clear display, the camera is the best I have had on a phone. So no more using friends phones to take selfies on a night out. The phone stays connected on both wifi and mobile data. The battery life is really good. I can use it for work all day and not have to recharge. Honestly the best purchase i have made on a phone for a long time. It loads apps up easily and the phone is so easy to navigate.

The phone is very slim - which made it very difficult to hold and us with arthritic fingers, so had to buy a substantial case so I could hold it. As a phone I guess it’s okay - I only bought it because I drowned my previous one - and stayed with a Samsung because I liked my A14 Galaxy. I only use my phone for calls, text messages and Google maps, so I was a bit disappointed that it came with masses of stuff and apps I will never use. Overall, it’s a good phone - the screen is clear and easy to read. The battery life is longer than my previous one. I do wish there was a manual though- I could work through that and get rid of all the stuff I will never use!

Got this today as a replacement for my A25 5g Very pleased with it, if you are not a gamer this is all you need. I was happy to spend more but couldn't quite figure out what I was going to get for three times the cost of this one. You will need an adapter for your wired headphones (USB C to mini stereo socket, I found some folding phones for £3 in a well known cheap shop that didn't deserve to sound any good, but do. The money I saved I'm spending on a genuine real leather case

I love my new Samsung A17. Lots of new features and many old ones upgraded. The camera is much improved and it holds battery power very well, despite the fact that I use it a great deal. My only disappointment- on the A12 I could for voice to text on emails, messages, WhatsApp etc. If that facility exists on the A17 I have not yet discovered it.

Got this phone in an emergency as my main phone decided it was not going to work after getting wet in my pocket when pouring down with rain 😲🌧 So I buy this phone, the phone memory is poor ! Especially if you got alot open as in apps, and if you are on phone alot talking or WhatsApp the battery runs out fast! I have to charge this phone 3 times a day !! OK phone for the occasional user, but if your a heavy users of apps or calls , get a different phone or be prepared to keep charging! Plus it's "C" connection for charging, so had to buy new charger and usb to c connection connectors for laptop as standard USB will not work!

A typical budget phone,battery runs down quick and phone gets quite hot just doing simple tasks. Great camera and display is nice and vivid. Wish i had bought another OPPO phone to be honest, my last one lasted nearly 5 years with no problems and out performed the A17 by a mile, one big problem is cannot have an app open and go to another at same time as the original app closes,which is useless if trying to enter details from an email you recieved to confirm legitamacy. Connectivity not bad but still prefer Oppo,in fact i would'nt be sorry if i lost this phone so i could get another Oppo.

It's the worst phone I've ever used, I bought it for work but I can't use Waze or Google Maps because it freezes, I keep it in the box because it's not accepted for return, I'll probably give it as a gift to someone just to use it for calls because it's no good for anything else, this is the last time I buy something from Samsung.

Thank you Samsung. Fantastic phone in every way. Amazing value for my choice bracket. Only problem that I've had with Samsung phones is the sensitivity of the touch screen itself. In past and occasionally now have to hit it with a sledge hammer to get it to respond to my using it. Could do with a manual to explain new model purchased. I'm beginner and not experienced, self taught with phones. Just a wish that's all. Would gladly pay extra costs myself. Thank you Samsung. I'll always choose you. Five stars 🌟

I have been using the Samsung A17 for a few weeks now and overall I think its a great phone at a great price. The screen size is great for watching TV and scrolling. The battery lasts me all day and even allows me to watch quite a bit of TV before needing to recharge it. The camera I feel is really good for someone who doesn't need anything fancy, whilst they are basic they suit someone for everyday usage and those easy holiday snaps. My last phone was from the S range and I was dubious about getting a phone from the more reasonably priced range, but I honestly dont see a difference.

I was a long term Motorola user, I would guess the last 10 years. The Motorola N30 that I had was starting to show its age, however, at 72vyear old, I wasnt looking forward to switchibg to a new device and struggling to comfortably understand a new type of set up. But my wife made the decision for me and I have no regrets. The Galaxt A17 feels familiar, no great shock when using and navigating around it. Clearly far faster than the motorola (perhaps the age of it was a cobtributing factor), but not taking anything away from Samsung, this phone is a dream. Perfect size without being clumsy, easily understandable menu system. Comfortable in the hand (a bit like the wife), seems reliable, ckear, practicable and supplies all the info I need, (again, just like the wife). Lol. Look, Im no Tech Wizard but I do like value for money and quality. Setup was straightfoward, even for this old codger, The Samsung Galaxy A17 ,though full of the latest tech and wizadry, is practical, understandable and comes with more than enough tech and apps for anyone.

I should say first that my children call me Dr. Samsung! Home is full of Samsung products because I trust Samsung to make beautiful and excellently performing stuff. So, to my new Galaxy A17 5G: it's an upgrade from my previous A14; I like it immediately! It's slim, very fast, very clear screen text and images. The battery is long lasting. It's easy to connect to all the many wifis and other devices we need today. My only criticism concerns the transfer from old phone to this new one. I expected the transfer to be complete, and that all my settings and data would be exactly copied. But not so! I had to spend hours getting everything the way I like it. But, I've done that now. And am happily appreciating A17

At my age a phone basically is just that , a means of contacting my other half or her in an emergency. I upgraded as my other phone was over 5 years old and very slow, The battery life on this handset lasts longer so less time charging, the display is marginally larger than my last one, the speed of the performance is why i upgraded, this is immediate, As for the camera this being another reason i upgraded, its so crisp and the options are for different pictures is off the scale. The transfer of my old phone was really good i just linked both (using my ISP connectivity) together using WIFI and all the files were sent from my old phone across to the new one. overall I'm glad I upgraded, it was about time to do so.

Honestly it was so disappointing. Having had an iPhone for over a decade I finally decided to do the great jump to Android. Samsung was supposed to be easy, reliable and I’d never want to go back. I went through 2 A17 devices in 5 days. They were both faulty. The lag between swapping from app to app was annoying. Who has to wait in 2025 for the phone to catch up and if you moved from one app to one that required to play something it just froze completely and shut itself off. Seriously disappointed in the performance and the phone. I’m back on iPhone

It has a large screen, the camera good and i like the style. However this has to be the slowest phone I've ever owned. It takes almost 2 hours charge, it stutters whilst using apps and the battery doesn't last very long despite not being constantly on it. I'm really disappointed overall.

I can’t compare this to any other Samsung phones as this is my first but first impressions are great with ease of use and set up and the camera is a flip one which is an added extra as it will be very useful for my online channel as none of my past phones have had this so an added bonus while filming. For what I need this phone ticks all the right boxes and I managed to find a case for it which an A16 fitted it like a glove so no waiting around for the shops to get the A17 ones in stock. Great phone definitely recommend and very pleased with my purchase

I like the size, design and the fingerprint button placement. The downside of having all the exterior buttons on the same side of the phone is that it gets fiddly whe you are trying to take a screenshot, I was also disappointed that the phone did not have a screen recording capability. This phone was a gift for my birthday, I am very fond of samsung, my previous phone was a Galaxy s9, which is a great phone all round. I personally prefer the Galaxy S series' over the A series'. But this A17 5g is really good for it's price, a definite value for money, the A17 has a bit of lag occasionally whe you are flipping through apps, but that doesn't put me off it. I also love how easy it is to switch from one samsung phone to another it was effortless.

I think the phone is great (from online impression) but I read a review here that state the session managment reset apps and that kill the multitasking I would say that i was expiriance the same issue on Samsung A14 5G after I update to OneUI 7 so the problem is in the software and will be good to have patch and this issue to be resolved also for A14 5G.

I purchased this phone outright at a cost of £199.00, to discover... - NO charging lead... which needs to be purchased as an optional extra! (unspecified) - the headphone socket cannot be used - without purchasing an adaptor! (unspecified) An insulting example of "selling up." Consequently, I emailed Ms Kirsty Caswell (Senior Customer Services) at the office of Mr Hadrian Baumann, CEO... on 7 December 2025 and AGAIN on 26 February 2026. (Both emails acknowledged.) Still unable to receive emails on this phone except by going to Virgin site, then manoeuvring through their site. Will not load outlook express. Returned to Tesco with the phone, they could not fix. Also tricky to turn off, need to press volume down and on/off button simultaneously.

I think i prefer the old one!! Messages were easier, it keeps on asking about setting one up as a,default. I don't want the choice.. For some reason it seems to be easier to press a coma rather than a space. Adverts seem to be there more too and more difficult to get rid of.

I am pleased with my Samsung A17 overall it seems fair value for the cost. The only downside so far is the connectivity with my Bluetooth hearing aids. The Bluetooth connection seems very flaky and keeps dropping out all the time if my phone is in my trouser pocket whereas my previous Samsung A13 kept the connection much better. I have to put it in a shirt with a breast pocket to ensure a decent connection to listen to audio books. I don't think the Bluetooth connection is very good Many Thanks

I feel that I made an excellent purchase when I bought this phone.The display is really clear to view and responds very effectively to touch requests on the applications contained within the phone. The battery charges really fast and has a really nice charging status indication on the phone notifications. The phone has excellent applications loaded on to it and is excellent to navigate across and is very pleasant to use.I feel the phone is very stable and is made to be very durable.

After my S20 died I needed a replacement and as I only have a Sim only deal, the cost of the A17 was ideal for my budget. The battery seems to last forever as I only tend to need to recharge every 2 or 3 days depending on what I've been doing on it. Was easy to navigate around and set up. Performance is pretty good and has a larger display that that of the S20. Only wished that there was a way to completely disable AI as it's not something I would use or want to use.

I have switched back to Samsung after many years i stopped using Samsung because I didn't not like the TouchWiz interface finding out the Now use one UI I find this Samsung a17 quite easy to use very easy to modify to my own needs one thing I would say that goes against this phone is it's battery and has to be charged quite often during the day the phone also overheats which is frustrating to say the least overall I would say I'd give this phone a solid 8 Out of 10

I had to take my new phone back to store 3 times as it kept shutting down when going on to comparison website apparently there is a new feature on the phone that needs to be deactivated which the staff member wasn't even aware of he had to get the manager to look at it he said I don't understand why this feature is even on the phone very frustrating when I had to return to the store 3 times. Awkward to take a screenshot as both buttons are on one side of the phone

overall this phone is good. One star short as the screenshot function is utterly dreadful!! either pressing power+vol down, or the wizardly hand-wave across the screen are both dreadful. I previously had a Motorola which took screenshot by pressing the toggle screen 3-line-hotkey and then there was a simple button at teh bottom which said SCREENSHOT - please copy that function, it's really simple and reliable and you don't look a twit (or worse) trying to do it.

Good cheap phone. Photos are acceptable, the cameras don't have all the bells and whistles, but then who uses them. The processor is basic, possibly underpowered, so if you're a power user it's not the phone for you. Then again , if you were, you wouldn't be looking at this phone anyway. Likewise the speakers aren't great for audiophiles, but for general use fine. If you just want a cheapish phone that is good at the basics, this isn't a bad choice.

2 weeks in and I'm happy enough. 5G is still patchy in my are but I got the A17 5G. Transferring my Apps and programmes from my Nokia was easy, though logging in to each one again was tedious! Within a week the phone downloaded Android 16, the latest operating system, without issue. A good phone from a recognised maker, though I have everything set up through Google, and it's trying to get me to now use Samsung Wallet and password saver and so on.

Good quality phone with a clear screen and responsive touch screen features. It charges fairly quickly and seems to hold its charge well. Easy to switch between screens. There is no manual with it, you have to dwnload that online and it is 125 pages! It would be good to have an owners guide that covers the basics, but if you are upgrading your phone you would probably find it easy. (I was moving from an older phone so it was more difficult).

My old Samsung A12 was starting to run slow, so I purchased a replacement A17. In the box is the phone, a USB C charger cable (no plug adapter) and a pin to remove the sim tray. I purchased a case separately. Transferring information from one phone to the other with a googke account was relatively straight forward with one or two "hurdles" The sim tray can either take two sim or a sim and expandable storage (micro SD card). The phone is 4g / 5g compatible. The phone has a 50MP and 12MP Camera, 128GB Storage, 4GB Memory and 5000 mAh Battery that lasts the whole day on what is a heavily used phone. The phone runs android 15 with 6 OS upgrades and 6 years of security updates, so, hopefully I'll get some use out of it as with my old Samsung A12. A good phone for the price that is more than capable of handling all my APPs, work and social stuff.

A little disappointed, upgraded from an older Samsung model as handset getting slower and battery strarting to charge longer. Got new 5g version, disappointed in speed, no noticeable difference. Even more disappointed with battery performance, even while on charge, struggles to take charge if phone in use with android auto for example, seems better with a new lead purchased but no improvement on older Samsung handset.

I have been somewhat disappointed by my new phone sadly. Been tempted to revert to my Motorolla. I am finding turning on takes a long time compared with previous phone and as for turning off well a nightmare I can't work it out and have to ask AI to do it. The constant use of arrow back to return to previous page is archaic. Why not a finer swipe so much quicker. Don't like the icons showing numbers indicating what waits in the app. Pointless especially on email where one leaves some unread to read at a later date. Why doesn't the phone order apps automatically in alphabet order? Still struggling after a month with so many issues. WiFi being the worst. The phone does not automatically revert to my home Internet access on returning I have to go to settings to do it every time. Hence at the start a big usage of my SIM data!!!! Not the best will get used to it I suppose.

To order apps in alphabetical order, swipe up to get to your apps > 3 dots in search bar > Sort > Alphabetical order. To have your phone connect to your chosen Wi-Fi automatically, go to Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi > 3 dots > Advanced settings > Manage networks > Choose your network > Toggle on Auto reconnect. Needed a new phone and the Samsung Galaxy a17 wholly fits that need. It's easy to use, loads apps fast, and navigating around it's functions is so simple. The display is clear and easy to customise to ones own preference. It charges quickly enough, although the charging cable could be of a better quality. The microphone and speaker are very clear. Overall, this is a fantastic phone for the price! 10/10

I bought this phone recently having upgraded from a very basic Alcatel model. The difference could not be more pronounced. Not only is the screen larger but the clarity is first class. It has so many features that I have not had before but which are too numerous to list. However, as I get numerous nuisance/scam calls the ability to block the caller's number after the end of each such call is a godsend.

This is my first smart phone, been avoiding getting one because I did only want a 'no fuss' phone. A friend recommended this one to me and I could not be happier. It is a really easy phone to use and I got used to it within a day. The whole experience of changing from a simple phone to this one has been a doddle.. Everything about it is really really good. I was recommended this phone by a friend of mine and cannot fault him.It was very easy to transfer all of the data across to it following easy to follow instructions. The display is of excellent quality as is the camera.So far the phone has performed in a first class manner and the battery has a more than decent lifespan.The device has 5g connection and I am more than happy with my purchase.

This phone does exactly what I need of it without spending too much, I have a tablet for other things, so this is at the right level to complement that. It still provides good performance a decent battery life and nice display. The camera works well and has a number of useful functions. Connectivity in network wifi and Bluetooth is also good but please fix the navigation swipe gestures

Slick thin design and a durable premium build that feels great. The high quality camera with stabilizer makes a huge difference for steady videos, and the crystal clear massive display looks wow! My last phone was a Samsung Galaxy A14, so when purchasing the Samsung Galaxy A17 I knew it was from a reputable company? Plus it works in the same. format as my previous phone, But much better. The display screen is slightly bigger which as you get older is great for the eyes. I am very pleased with this phone and would would recommend not just this phone but Samsung as a company.

I had always used Samsung phones until a couple of years ago. I bought an iphone as my niece was adamant they were better phones. I have to say I disagree 100% with her ! I am totally happy with my new Samsung & will definitely not buy any other brand of phone if I need to replace it in the future. My last Samsung still works after almost 10 years, but didn't have 5g capability

Have been using this for three months and found it very reliable and easy to update. Taking photos is easy and I have happy memories stored. The battery lasts for around a day and a half which is ok but I would have appreciated a longer life. Use for banking is secure with face recognition. Organising display is a breeze. Bluetooth to my watch is not always reliable.

I love the fact that this Samsung Galaxy A17 5G is sightly of the same spec as my last phone. I am also happy with the newly updated features, which I am trying to get used to. The thing I have difficulty with is that I am unable always press on the intended key, due to the tip of the finger I use to type hiting the key beside the key I require to press.

It's got a good battery. Does everything you would expect from a smart phone. Things I don't like is it only has one speaker so music playback isn't that good. Also having the front camera in the middle of the top of the screen isn't good. The Bluetooth isn't that stable either. Disconnects from the car and the Alexa and Bluetooth speaker in the house.

I had the A25 previously but unfortunately, it took a swim when it went overboard on a river dinner cruise. I had to buy this as I needed to be up and running quickly and it was the only one in stock that was anywhere near the spec of my previous. It is perfectly usable, but when I'm used to things working quicker, it has taken some getting used to.

Arrived on time by a nice friendly driver. Bought 2 of these for myself and my wife bit of an upgrade from our previous galaxy. Been very happy with samsung galaxy overall. We are quite basic users as OAP's, and are used to the galaxy, though a lot more can be done with phones, but they are just right for us. They are pretty good value too.

Although this phone is considered to be in the 'budget' range, it's actually very good. Apps work seamlessly, 5G connectivity and the battery lasts well before needing recharging. I'm not a heavily phone reliant person, don't watch movies or game online, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a modern inexpensive phone.

I've used Samsung phones for a while and when my S20 died I needed a replacement and quick. This new A model is a perfect replacement. Bought phone to replace a 3yr phone as the battery life was getting low. New Samsung A17 seems made to a good level of quality. I find it easy to use for my needs as a phone/payment device/camera/music player. The only disappointment is the battery life. It's not much better than my old phone despite changing battery settings.

Nice and comfortable phone to hold in your hand. Love the big screen on the phone for when I'm watching Liverpool Fc. Performance is good. But I do miss my s22. Battery life so far is good, but its only a month being used. Nice and clear display. Camera takes a decent picture. So, all in all no complaints. A big thumbs up 👍

I’ve been using the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G for a little while now and it’s been good so far. It runs smoothly for everyday things like browsing, social media, and calls. The battery lasts well, which I really like. The camera is okay in good lighting but not the best in low light. Overall, I’m happy with it as a budget phone.

I bought this 3 weeks and I'm enjoying using it. Unlike my old phone, network/internet connection is pretty fast. Sound quality is great but just like many Samsung phones, it sometimes become slow and needs to be restarted. My only disappointment was with the delivery; I had to call and follow up before it was delivered.

My husband thinks is a great simple easy to use phone, he always had iPhones but prefers this Samsung a17 now. Much easier to set up and handle. Battery is excellent and so is the camera. Big range of ringtones, except the simple plain old style ringtone is unfortunately not amongst them. For the price a very good buy!

Bought the phone, nice and sturdy, works well, just beware two points, the phone doesn't come with a charging plug, and the phone doesn't have a traditional jack plug you need to buy a after market c fitting plug, or headphones that have a C fitting which doesn't help if you need to charge the phone at the same time..

Just upgraded to Samsung A17. My daughter set it up for me I don't think I could have coped with all the questions, passwords etc. Now it's up and running it's great. Lovely clear screen everything virtually the same as my old clapped out A12 which is what I hoped. Charges very fast and better camera.
