This phone was excellent quality for the cost. It may seem a cheap device however in comparison to my samsung s20+ device this phone has excellent battery which lasts lomger than my other device. Charging is quick and although it only comes with the wire it is still compatible with other plugs. The display is good quality and storage too. Offers almost like for like compared with the S range that samsung offer. It has front and rear camera and plenty of other perks that the other samsung phones offer. It has a slightly larger and bulkier phone. Easy to use and set up doesnt take too long and you can transfer from previous devices with ease. Definately recommend who needs to spend a fortune on a android or apple device. This phone has plenty of benefits and qualities. Most of all cost effective on the ever tightening wallets. No problems with connectivity to wifi or bluetooth and sound quality is great.

Bought to replace a 3-year old budget Motorola phone that died, It's not notably faster than the previous phone and the battery life and charging times are much the same. Cloud-based installation of apps that were on the old phone was simple, but left me with duplicated apps where there is a Samsung version pre-installed. Overall, it's an adequate phone I neither recommend it, nor suggest avoiding it.

I’ve had this about a month. My last phone was an Apple so I’ve had to readjust to using Android again but I’ve got more storage and a brand new phone that works and it’s been relatively problem-free as Samsung make it easy to transfer.

Samsung is one of the better budget phones. I used to use Motorola, but they are now heavily influenced by Google. Google wants its finger in in every app..including your phone calls & texts. I find that unacceptable. Samsung is marginally better..& the phone does have some nice features..but like Google, Samsung also tries to dominate everything..even the games you play. I try to remove all of its influence from the phone, but it still dominates, sends me countless unwanted notices that I cannot stop, etc & badgers you in a way that it morally shouldn't. Such is the times we live in.

Internal Support Team

We understand that it can be disappointing when certain accessories, such as the charging plug, are no longer included in the box. Samsung made this change to help reduce electronic waste and support better recycling habits, as many customers already have compatible chargers from previous devices. Your new Galaxy A17 can be safely charged using an existing Samsung USB-C charger with the included cable, or you can purchase a new compatible charger if needed. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts, and your feedback will be passed on to the relevant teams to help Samsung continue improving the overall experience for our customers.

I got this phone to replace one that broke after 6 months, the usb C port is pathetically weak, and when you contact Samsung they won't honor the warranty, so I paid for a repair and it went again, now they don't want to know, I've had Samsung phones for many years but now they are made to fail, thats why I bought another A17 its cheap enough to just bin while I save up for a better phone, when it works its a really good phone but more fragile than an egg shell, so buyer beware.

Internal Support Team

Hi John. Sorry to hear you faced issues with the charging port. This certainly isn't the experience we would expect from such a high quality device. Samsung honour the warranty of our devices in all cases where it is applicable. If the warranty is void, in cases of physical damage for example, all repairs will be chargeable, this is because it isn't possible for our engineers to provide repairs to a specific area of the device, so it must be returned to a warrantable condition when any repair is carried out. If you do need any support with your phone, you can contact Samsung Support Teams here: https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/contact/

I bought this phone for my husband who has always refused to have a smart phone till now. The phone is a great choice for beginners, quite large for ‘older users’ to handle easily and very adaptive where needed (eg text size and view type etc.) We did struggle with the contacts disappearing a few times but this has now been sorted. Can’t really comment on the battery as the phone isn’t being drained by using the internet yet.
