How to change the sound settings on my dishwasher

Your Samsung dishwasher’s sound settings can be changed to suit your preferences. The alert sounds can be turned on or off.

You can use the following steps to manage the sound settings on your DW50R40* dishwasher model:

AUTO or Normal cycle button. AUTO or Normal cycle button.
Lower rack only or Half load button. Lower rack only or Half load button.
AUTO or Normal cycle button. AUTO or Normal cycle button.
1 Turn the dishwasher on, and then press and hold the AUTO or Normal cycle button for 5 seconds. The display will show “0:00” when you enter the setting mode
2 Press the Lower rack only (models DW5*R407*BB and DW5*R406*BB) or Half load (models DW5*R405*BB and DW5*R404*BB) button to select the sound setting menu. The display will show the current setting (the default setting is U1)
3 Press the AUTO (models DW5*R407*BB and DW5*R406*BB) or Normal (models DW5*R405*BB and DW5*R404*BB) cycle button to change the setting

You can use the following steps to manage the sound settings on your DW6*M* dishwasher model:

Please note: Model DW60M5042F* does not have a sound setting mode.

Express or Program button. Express or Program button.
Half load button. Half load button.
Program button. Program button.
1 Turn the dishwasher on, and then press and hold the Express or Program button for 5 seconds. The display will show “0:00” when you enter the setting mode
2 Press the Half load button to select the sound setting menu
3 Press the Program button to change the setting

You can use the following steps to manage the sound settings on your DW6*R70 or DW60A80* dishwasher model:

Auto Cycle button. Auto Cycle button.
Lower rack only button. Lower rack only button.
Auto Cycle button. Auto Cycle button.
1 Turn on your dishwasher and press and hold the Auto Cycle button for at least 5 seconds. The screen will display “0:00” to indicate you are in the Setup mode
2 Press the Lower rack only button to select the sound setting menu. The display will show the current setting (the default setting is U1)
3 Press the AUTO Cycle button to change the setting

For all models except DW60BB89* models:

Hygiene Plus and Delay Start buttons. Hygiene Plus and Delay Start buttons.
Hygiene Plus button. Hygiene Plus button.
Delay Start button. Delay Start button.
1 Press the Hygiene Plus and Delay Start buttons simultaneously for at least 3 seconds
2 Press Hygiene Plus until “U0” or “U1” appears on the screen
3 Press Delay Start to change the sound setting. You can turn the sound function on (U1) or off (U0)
Power, Hygiene Plus and Delay Start buttons.
4 Press the Power button or the Hygiene Plus and Delay Start buttons simultaneously to save the new setting

For DW60BB89* models:

Settings button. Settings button.
Left and Right buttons. Left and Right buttons.
Start button. Start button.
1 Turn on the dishwasher and then press the Settings button
2 Navigate to the Sound option using the Left and Right buttons
3 Press the Start button to enter the submenu
Left or Right buttons. Left or Right buttons.
Start button. Start button.
4 Use the Left or Right buttons to change the Sound setting. You can turn the sound function on (U1) or off (U0)
5 Press the Start button to save the new setting
