1.     Block out the heat

Keep shutters or blinds shut during the day. This helps block out the summer sun from the morning onwards

 

2.     Keep your kitchen well ventilated

Open windows and doors to let heat escape

Use your oven during cooler times of the day

Extractor fans help remove heat and cooking fumes

 

3.     Help your fridge run at its best

Avoid opening the fridge door more than you need to

Leave space around, behind and inside the fridge

Let leftovers cool down before storing them

 

4.     Give your tumble dryer a rest

Opt for outdoor drying when you can

Stick to 30ºC or cold washes
