The tumble is only a week old so I can't comment on the reliability. However, it is much faster than I was expecting, having read reviews that heat pump tumble dryers can take a long time to dry. It's also much quieter than our old (traditional heat) tumble dryer. The automatic sensors are also good, with the clothes coming out just dry, so clearly saving further energy versus our old dryer where we would regularly leave it on for longer than needed (or sometimes not long enough and they'd still be wet!). Clothes come out softer compared to the old dryer too. It's a big beast, but so far so good. Love the merry tune it plays when it has finished, too!

I'm really pleased with this tumble dryer for a busy family of 4 (who tumbles most of our laundry). The programs work well for different types of laundry and can be customised to some extent. The clothes come out dry but not crispy or overly static. I feel like the energy usage is good (although I've not calculated it). I've successfully dried shoes using the internal drying rack. We intended to plumb the machine so it drains itself but haven't done so yet. Emptying the water container is not as onerous as I feared though and is actually strangely satisfying! Would love to buy the corresponding washing machine now.

Samsung DV90BB5245ABS1 9kg heat pump tumble dryer. Replaced a 6 year old B rated vented dryer with this model, running costs are less than a 3rd of the price. 8KG load cycle takes around 90 minutes and costs 16p. The time displayed at the start of the cycle is 2hrs 50 mins but the sensor adjusts the time when it detects the load is dry. We do an average of 10 loads per week, this dryer will pay fotr itself in under 4 years. Easy to setup and monitor from the app and apply custom cycles should yo wish. 5 year warranty gives peace of mind. Looks great and the light inside the drum is very useful.

This machine is only fit for scrap, when you have finished doing your washing you would be better filling the bathtub and filling it with cold water and leaving that for 6 hours and it will come out dryer than that unless pile of junk they call a dryer, customer service is absolutely disgusting, my next step court.

I was a little undecided by other reviews regarding the dryer such as noisy , excessive drying times , not drying completely . All of these complaints are unfounded from my experience . Sometimes I hardly realise that the dryer is on ( so much for noisy ) . Everything comes out dry as long as you choose the right cycle and almost always finishes drying well before the estimated time . I think I've used it 8 or 9 times this week and it's cost about £1.25 in electricity . This will prove cheaper than buying and running a condenser dryer over it's lifetime

This dryer was great to start with, but after a few loads I noticed the drum started to smell unpleasant. I took the cover off to check the heat exchanger and it was completely wet with wet fluff stuck to it and this was well before the recommended cleaning of 25 uses. After cleaning it the smell remained and the heat exchanger wet. I had a look online and this seems to be a known issue, so returned the dryer.

Who knew washing could be so much ‘fun’? When paired with the Smart Things app, you have complete control of the machine via your phone. This means that no matter where you are you can see when your washing will be ready and when you need to be back to the machine to do the unloading etc. great features also include the Ai setting which figures out the weight and type of clothing (apparently) so that you just chuck your stuff in there and it auto dispenses the correct amounts of washing fluid for your wash. I'm highly satisfied with this tumble dryer, perfect for our family of five who frequently uses it for most of our laundry. The various programs effectively cater to different fabric types. It's easy to use and the settings allow good customisation. It dries clothes without causing them too dry. It's energy efficient too. We've got a matching Series 6+ washing machine too and both look aesthetically great side by side in our utility room.

Has exceeded my expectations. I came from a washer/dryer and the difference in time and dryness is like night and day! The integration with SmartThings is awesome. I get notified when washing machine (got a matching one) is done so I can load the tumble dryer. Then when all is complete it alerts me on my phone AND television! You can also set your programs from the phone. Just a tech-geeks dream :) Hope it lasts the distance.
