The on-screen keyboard does not appear on the TV

Reset the remote and pair it with the TV.

Depending on which remote you are using, there will be a certain method to resetting it.

 

  • Remove the batteries, and then press Power for eight seconds to reset the remote. Then, reinsert the batteries and try to use the remote again. Check out the user manual if you need help accessing the battery compartment. (If you do not have a Smart Remote, skip re-pairing the remote.)
 
  • If you have a smart remote, press and hold Return and Enter (the center of the navigation pad) for more than 10 seconds. After performing this reset, you will need to pair the remote to the TV again.

 

After resetting the remote, pair it with your TV.

 

  • Stand with the remote close to the TV, and press and hold Return and Play/Pause simultaneously for at least 5 seconds or until a message appears on your TV showing that the remote is connected.

Try searching for something again.

  • Open the Apps store.
 
  • Select the Search icon.

 

If the keyboard appears, you are done.

If not, continue to the next step.

Cold boot the TV.

  • Press and hold the Power button on the TV remote until the TV turns off and back on. (Alternately, you can unplug the TV from power for 2 minutes and plug it back in.)
 
  • When the TV comes back on, try searching for something again using the app store.

 

If the keyboard appears, you are done.

If not, continue to the next step.

Repeat steps 1 and 2.

Reset and pair the remote again, then test it.
