Why 100% Color Volume Will Change Your View
Color volume is a way of describing how a TV can render color and create a range of tones based on luminance-a measure of light-levels. Depending on the luminance, colors can look different and give objects on the screen more or less of a 3D feel. The color volume determines the specific colors you see on your TV, so the higher the color volume, the greater the range of vivid, authentic color. Because Samsung QLED TV is a TV verified to express 100% color volume, it can display a vast range of graphic, lifelike colors, even on a super bright HDR screen.* -

What you need to know when you’re mounting a TV
There are three main factors to think about when preparing to mount your TV: location, eye level, and viewing distance. Taking these measurements and ideas into consideration is very important for an optimal TV experience. You know the old saying, measure twice, cut once? Here it’s measure twice, drill once! For location, it’s not just room. You likely have an idea of which room to put it in, but which wall is important too. Determine which area would best suit your décor and keep the room comfortable. A wall not directly facing the window is also good too, to reduce potential glare (although QLED TVs have Ultra Black technology built in to help reflect glare too!) And regarding eye level height, you’ll need to get the measuring tape ready! Depending on your height and whether you’re on the couch or in bed, the eye level measurement is going to be different. Finally, viewing distance. If you read our <b><a href="/global/tv/blog/how-to-choose-your-ideal-tv-a-tv-buying-guide-for-2017.html" target="_blank">TV buying guide</a></b>, you’re already a pro on viewing distance and you know that the viewing distance is also important to ensure that you get the highest-quality images on-screen. The recommended distance is 1.5–2.5x the diagonal screen measurement for UHD (1080p) TVs, and 1–1.5x that measurement for QLED (4K) TVs. Once you know where you’re mounting the TV, you may need to move some furniture slightly for the ideal view. Luckily, 2017 Samsung TVs provides colorful, crisp, and detailed picture quality at many angles, so everyone in the house can enjoy it. Plus, the No-Gap Wall Mount allows you to make some adjustments after mounting for comfort, too. -

What is 4K TV and How It’s Here to Get the Party Started
You know what, that’s a great question! 4K refers to the resolution of a TV, and 4K is an even higher resolution than 1080p TVs, providing crisp, quality images on screen. This is especially evident when paired with HDR, which enhances the contrast on screen to make the details in brightest white and deepest black areas shine through. So 4K and HDR are a power combination that we’ve added to the lifelike color of Quantum dots to get 100% color volume and take picture quality to the next level.* And when QLED TV is in your home, it’s going to be the life of the party—whether that’s a viewing party for the big game, a movie premiere night, an all-day video game fest, or an all-night pajama party. 4K and HDR together make your Samsung QLED TV a centerpiece that’s sure to entertain your guests.† -

Evolution of the Smart Remote Control
TV remote controls have been around for almost as long as TVs themselves. If you have any relatives that were abreast of the leading TV tech in the 1950s they may just remember the first (but finicky) wired TV remotes that would trip your pets or kids up. And then there were the remotes that worked fine as long as you pointed them at the sensor correctly. As times changed, more and more TV connectable devices came to prominence. Your grandparents may never have had the need nor the want to connect a new device to their then ‘new-fangled’ TV but you or one of your tech-savvy friends have certainly hooked up at least one such device to a television you have known. Presently, with a few twists and turns along the TV tech road, we have a new standard: One Remote Control and Auto Detection. In a nutshell, One Remote Control and Auto Detection make watching your favorite shows on your Samsung smart TV easy and we’re sure that once you’ve experienced it for yourself you’ll be wondering how you ever lived without it. -

And yes, this is another such post. But as you’ve guessed from the title, we’re not going to give you a list of top ten unique gift ideas. We’re suggesting you get that loved one a big screen TV. Preferably, a big screen TV from the Samsung 2016 TV lineup. Especially since the more premium sets, the SUHD TV line to be more exact, all come with Quantum dot displays (more about that later), we believe they are some of the best televisions out there, making them the perfect gift. Wait. A TV? A big screen TV. That’s a gift? That’s one of the most unimaginative gifts you could get someone. We hear you. Bear with us just a bit. There are so many reasons why we think that a big screen TV (the SUHD TV from the Samsung 2016 TV lineup is one particular model that comes to mind) would make an incredible present -- for anyone. The SUHD TV has a Quantum dot display that makes virtually anything and everything you see on the screen come to life. It’s extremely easy to use (easier than most smart TVs you’re probably used to). And it’s beautiful, from any angle, making it quite possibly one of the best televisions out there. But don’t just take our word for it. <blockquote>"Baby I thought this would be just perfect for you. Ever the trendsetter, always ahead of the curve. 360 degrees of simplicity, the Samsung SUHD TV."Paul, husband of Lauren</blockquote> Take for example, Paul and Lauren. They’re celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary. Paul gives Lauren a big screen TV, an SUHD TV from the Samsung 2016 TV lineup, because it appears he also agrees it’s one of the best televisions available today. See for yourself in the following video why a big screen TV with a Quantum dot display, and from the Samsung 2016 TV lineup no less, makes one of the best gifts ever. -

Five Reasons Why the Curved TV is the New Flat
Life isn’t always a walk in the park. Sometimes it’s standing in the middle of a raging storm. Other times it’s taking to the skies and feeling the bracing wind on your cheeks. When viewed on a curved TV, it couldn’t be more so. -
TV Buying Guide 2016
Most people planning to purchase a new TV, first investigate screen size. The full immersion of viewing a large, high resolution TV is an alluring addition for any living room. But there are many things to consider to ensure you get the best viewing experience. According to a third-party 4K TV review, advancing technology is creating a shift in the optimal viewing distance.2 Older technology was meant to be viewed from a greater distance so that your eyes couldn’t detect the scan lines. However today, if you sit too far, you will miss some of the high definition detail. Sit too close, and your eyes begin to separate the pixels. The better the pixel quality, the closer you can sit to a larger screen. Full HD can be enjoyed from a closer viewing distance than HD, and UHD can be viewed without sacrificing detail even closer to the screen. -
Evolution of the TV
Watching TV is one of life’s simple pleasures. Your favorite movie paired with your favorite snack. It’s a time-honored way to wind down at the end of the week. Having a group of friends over to watch the big game on that ultra slim TV hanging on the wall. That’s another good reason to turn on the TV. And today, with the Ultra HD TV such as our very own Samsung SUHD TV, watching movies and TV shows at home has never been this good: The Quantum dot display breathes life into what you see on the TV screen. But life wasn’t always like this. Clearly, we’ve come a long way since the days of black and white, as well as the early days of color TV. -
Why Are Quantum Dot Displays So Good?
Quantum dots are nano-sized crystals made of semiconductor materials. A nanometer (nm) is one billionth of a meter, which means these extra-small particles are smaller than 1/10,000 of a single strand of human hair.* -
Why SUHD TV
When deciding on a new TV, assessing how smart a TV is also important among many other factors. From that perspective, SUHD TV’s level of smartness actually lives up to its claim. SUHD TV offers super easy connectivity to other devices and services allowing you to instantly connect and access content from different sources, all from a single Smart Hub. <blockquote>“Easy connectivity to other devices”</blockquote> Previously, you had to connect to a streaming app, wait for it to launch and figure out what to view. But with SUHD TV’s Smart Hub, you can simply highlight, say, Amazon, and fresh content from Amazon will appear instantly in your UI. See something you like? There’s no extra navigation, you can play it immediately from there. Navigating all your devices and the content on a TV cannot be easier with SUHD TV. -
