How to calibrate your TV screen with SmartThings

Use the following video to find out how to calibrate your TV screen with SmartThings

Please note:

  • Professional Mode is not available on all TV models
  • This calibration is only applied to Movie Mode and not to other picture modes

On your TV, go to:

  • Settings
  • All Settings
  • Picture
  • Expert Settings
  • Smart Calibration
  • Scan the QR code on the screen to register the TV on SmartThings
  • Follow the steps to register your TV on SmartThings

 

Once it is registered, go to:

  • Devices
  • Select the TV
  • Smart calibration

 

You have two options to carry out the calibration

  • Basic mode

Simple calibration. This will take around 30 seconds

 

  • Professional mode

Intensive calibration. This will take around 4-8 minutes

 

In Professional mode

  • Activate HDR
  • Next
  • Mount your smartphone on a tripod
  • Place the rear camera 1-3 cm from TV
  • Darken the room before starting calibration
  • I’m Ready
  • Use the square on the TV to adjust the position of the camera
  • Start
  • Do not move the smartphone during the calibration
  • The process measures and adjusts the RGB spectrum, white balance, gamma, colour, greyscale linearity to ensure optimal picture quality
  • Once it is complete, a calibration report will appear
  • Next
  • Select Apply to Calibrated to set the correction
  • Done
