What to do if the TV that was registered on the SmartThings app disappears

If the TV or another device that was registered on the SmartThings app disappears and is not visible, there are a few things you can try before registering it again. Follow the guide below as there may be an easy fix.

If you can't find a solution to your issue, contact us at Samsung Support.

Data reception may be slow, or temporary interruptions may occur when loading the app. If the router and the TV are far apart, the communication may not be smooth and registration may fail.

1 Tap Settings on your smartphone.
2 Tap Connections.
3 Set Wi-Fi to on.
4 Tap Data Usage and set Mobile Data to on.

Please note: If more than 10 devices are connected to your router, registration may fail.

If you can't find your TV on the screen even after registration on the SmartThings app is complete, change the location and check the list of all devices.

1 Tap Device on the bottom menu and then tap the name of location.
2 When the pop-up appears, select All devices.
3 Check the list of all devices.
4 If your TV is not on the list, tap the Home icon to change a location.
5 Select another location to find your TV.
6 Check that the device appears on the screen.
7 Select All devices.
8 Find your TV on the list of all registered devices.

Make sure the software on your smartphone and SmartThings app is up to date, and if necessary, update the firmware of your TV as well.

Please note: The SmartThings app is compatible with phones running Android 8.0 or higher, and iOS 12.0 or higher.

How to update the SmartThings app
