Samsung computer RAM and SSD hard drives are the only brand that I will use with all of my laptops. Having said that, the Samsung 990 Pro SSD will not physically fit in the 2 - Gen III M.2 SSD hard drive slots in the HP EliteBook 17G6 Mobile Workstation due to size constraints. I just tried last night, so I went with the 990 Pro (no heatsink) X 4TB in both M.2 slots with a 4TB EVO SSD drive in the SATA open bay.

The Samsung 990 pro 1TB ssd is perfect for the PS5. I had to upgrade my storage due to modern PS5 games are now on average 80-100GB per game. The installation is very easy. However PlayStation has instructions if you are still unsure how to install. Once I installed the ssd i was prompted to format the ssd and it was that simple to start using. (You can change what games are on the ssd via the console). The ssd itself is fantastic and with the included heatsink it hopefully will last. The speeds are correct for use with the PS5 so don’t worry about performance compatibility. So far all my PS5 games on the ssd run exactly as intended with no issues.

This drive is a piece of junk and Samsung's support for them is even worse. I bought 2 of them for my Alienware R15 system. One for the boot drive and one for the gaming drive. Randomly one or the other drive would just disappear completely from the system until I fully powered it down. If the boot drive disappeared the computer would completely crash. If the gaming drive disappeared I would get booted out of whatever game I was playing. Samsung did attempt to replace the drive after numerous calls, and emails and finally a email to corporate. But it seems that didn't solve the issue. Ended up purchasing a different brand gaming NVME drive and have been rock solid since.

I bought the SSD for PS5 gaming console/system for additional memory space for gaming. At first, I was contemplating with the compatibility. This is the fastest snappiest SSD I have ever used! The little red light on the device also feeds my inner edge lord. I have found that the Samsung magician app is also very helpful for diagnostics and drive info. DO NOT USE BITLOCKER WITH THIS. The drive supports hardware encryption which is faster, more secure, but a HUUUUUUUUUUUGE pain to set up once you start using the drive. So don't do as I did and have to reimage your machine. Set up encryption before doing anything else.

Works great! I've never had a problem with any Samsung product. From phones to SD cards to SSD's. You get what you pay for, most of the time. I'm not sure that I needed the heatsink on a 4.0 but the next gen 5.0 is going to need then for sure. If you can afford the 2TB get it! Even if you don't think you'll need it. It has an extra gig of DRAM, and for day to day use you will notice all those 500 meg to over 2 gig file transfers you do are almost instantaneous..

Have used this installed onto my PS5, but I’m really looking forward to pairing an 8TB SSD with these reading & writing speeds instead! I have no complaints from using this for additional capacity collecting video games cache data. Every game loads files/data symmetrically, fairly symmetrically when playing respectively online, and correctly every time. No other brand’s do I trust to house memory with Sony: Samsung does it right & better every time!

I needed more storage on my Playstation 5, so I spent a couple days comparing devices. And after those couple of days, I picked the Samsung 990 w/ Heatsink 2 TB. It was my first time installing anything like this but it was very easy to install the memory card. Playstation 5 recognize it upon start-up. I love this memory card. Reads and writes just as fast as the Playstation 5 hard drive. Definitely worth the money.

The best product for increasing PS5 drive / storage space. Easy to install (slide open PS5 cover and attach using the one Phillips screw already in the PS5 expansion slot). Switch on PS5, format drive. Goto settings to set drive as primary or secondary drive to save too. Now new drive saves / plays games direct. New drive is faster so loading times for games saved on new drive will be quicker than PS5 drive.

I have one in my Asus ROG without the heatsink and one with the heatsink in my PS5. They're read and write times are extremely fast, my ROG came with a very capable SSD but the 990 pro blows it out of the water with no other SSD coming close to its capabilities. The one in my PS5 is unmatched when it comes in gameplay, storage, and how fast data writes to it. Easily the best SSD on the market right now

Bought it when I updated to Windows 11. 4 TB was probably excessive but wanted to have the largest capacity possible. Gen 4 is pretty snappy and works well with Samsung Magician. Issues regarding SSD health seems to be resolved since the last firmware update. Was worried about temps so got the heatsink version and glad I did cause temps have ranged from 25 to highest around high 40s low 50s.

It was great until it outright crashed and messed up my whole PC. had it installed for about a year and never had any problems. One day I played a game for about 2 hours and then walked away. When I came back my computer was on bios because my boot device was not listed. It just died out of nowhere, and no I did not have heat issues. No part of my PC ever went over 35 degrees celsius.

I Brought the 2tb version for asus rog G14. I had gor the 4060 base variant only had 512 gigs of storage... wanted to upgrade anf this was the best choice. Comparing to crucial the samsung one gives me higher speed rates.( Brought it also for comparison) the Heatskin is the major deal and also the offer currently running is a better deal to grab over the market.

The drive randomly disappears from system (BIOS). Been sent in once and firmware updated, drive wiped. Worked for 3 week and repeated the same issue. A few hard reboots and the drive showed up again. Wouldn't trust this as a main drive for an operating system with any size TB as it appears it's an issue that Samsung thinks is fixed with it's latest firmware.

Worked wonderfully in my PS5...for 3 months. Was playing fine and then put the system. Went to start the PS5 two days later and it told me there was a system software crash and the drive wasn't detected. Replaced it with an older smaller drive and tested in my PC. Drive is dead.
