I installed this to clone my operating system onto to increase startup speeds. I was not disappointed either. PC boots up in next to no time, and easy installation with Samsung Magician cloning software. Use this as my primary drive, and a 1TB hdd for files, photos, music etc. The 870 is the latest model ssd from Samsung. I Installed an 860 EVO 500gb on laptop aswell and again boot up speeds are amazing.

Bought and installed in a PC at a local charity about 2 weeks ago. Used every day and the user reports there have been no problems and her PC is soooo much faster. (Also so installed an additional 8 GBytes of Ram which also helped the speed.) Samsung's Migration software ran without a hitch and worked first time. Thoroughly recommended.

I brought this about 2 weeks ago and replaced my traditional HDD and let me tell you, it increased the speed by 70%. The only downfall I have is that like all SDD they are expensive for what you get in terms of space. Its either that or painstaking slow speeds. Move on to SSD if you can afford to.

Good price to speed up my aging Del. It works very well making my operating load much faster than my old Hard Drive. However it is not a plug and play - you need to make it a formatted boot drive. Plenty of guides on Youtube. Also a good idea to make a Hiren's BootCD PE as

Change from a HDD to SSD when old drive failed, Great improvement in speed after changing to SSD, wish I had done a long time ago. Boots up a lot quicker, did think it needed more memory before I fitted this HD but no need to now.

I knew that going to an SSD was going to speed things, but it absolutely flies now. Previous Hard Disk was running same version of Ubuntu but started having sector errors. At least 3 times quicker.
