I have been using this product for over six months and have found that the storage capacity compared to cost is amazing. The drive is easy to install as it fits into the laptops existing drive bay. Samsung also offers free drive transfer and management software on their site free of charge. Being an SSD there are no moving parts so is completely silent in use. This unit meets the industry’s leading standards of reliability. It withstands tasks from everyday computing to 4K/8K video processing. For the price and branded name of Samsung, and the peace of mind of a five-year warranty, this product is an absolute bargain.

After 18 months, I've got 258 bad sectors. I got up today, thought something was awry with my PC. I was going to clone the Samsung to another branded SSD, and my computer started printing AAAAAA all over the screen. That was when I knew something was crazy. I did manage to get it cloned, although, it took forever, thanks to the bad sectors. After I got done cloning, I left the Samsung 870-EVO in place, and did the surface test. I could not believe my eyes. I probably would have left 3 stars, but I cannot, for the life of me, figure out, how to send this into Samsung for warranty replacement. I has warranty until 2026, but how do I go about getting in to Samsung for replacement. I'm sure I need an RMA number. Any help would be great.

Never put one of these in a mac pro as a boot drive. It will boot fine but will not boot from a restart The EVO 860 has no such issues on the mac pro. The 870 EVO does work in macbook pro's without issue.

I have only had this drive a short time. But it was just an upgrade to a larger drive of same make and model. Simple to clone with my software and is happily doing its job silently and efficiently with no reported problems. I used easeUS partition master to clone the drive if you were curious about that

I have bought the 500GB and the 1TB versions of this drive recently, both to speed up elderly ailing laptops. The migrate software from Samsung makes copying your apps, data and OS across from your old drive to the new one easy (if not fast) but you will need a USB 2.5" SATA drive caddy to temporarily add your new drive externally to do the copying. Note that there seem to be two versions of Samsungs data migration software on their site and I had problems getting the one that is bundled with other software to see my new drive and copy to it but I found another stand alone version that worked fine. So then its just a quick drive swap and reboot fast and silently! It's brought my two old machines back to life, well worth the price.

Was about to replace my slow 13 year old PC when a colleague suggested installing a SSD - so I gave it a go. Works IT guy recommended Samsung as their s/w simplifies installation. It did - installation straightforward. Results very good - system now boots up in about 30 secs, whereas it took about 2 mins before. Programs much quicker to open. My system had 2 discs - one for OS (now the SSD) and a 2TB one for data (unchanged). I now find it's performance acceptable and don't need to replace it for another few years.

Cannot rate this SSD disk highly enough. Swapped out my old 1TB HDD disk for a 500GB SSD (didn't need all the space). My 5 year old Toshiba laptop used to take 10-15 minutes to load and even then it seemed to use 100% disk for a very long time afterwards. After a very simple disk mirror using an interface cable, I re-booted the laptop and it now takes a 5-8 seconds to load to a ready state and it's just waiting for me to work! Fantastic ! I'd recommend to anyone struggling with a slow laptop.

Recently replaced my THIRD faulty regular Hard Drive with this SSD Internal Hard Drive. I cloned my original drive, all went very smoothly, and I certainly like the increase in start up time, only around 25 seconds, much improvement on up to two minutes with the old drives. So far, I am very happy with my purchase, and have given only 4 stars for the reason that it must prove to be reliable over more time to deserve a maximum 5. I would recommend this if it keeps going as it is now.

Incompréhensible ! Mon objectif était de pouvoir non seulement transporter les dossiers et fichiers de mon ordinateur, mais aussi de pouvoir y accéder par la connectivité de mon téléphone (un SAMSUNG Note 11). Et ça ne marche pas ! Et il n'y a aucune aide expliquant ce qu'il faut faire... En plus titrer l'avis en 10 caractères ne laisse pas beaucoup de nuances. Je voulais écrire "à compléter" ou "espérait mieux" il ne reste que "NUL" qui résume en moins de 10 caractères...

My 8yr Laptop was sluggish and I did a lot of research regarding SSD as my current HDD unable to keep up with all the Windows Updates (Win10). There are cheaper versions on the market and I only chose the Samsung version as it was available locally and to see if there was any improvement in my Laptop. The answer being YES!! Only 4 stars as durability I can not confirm. Time will tell. One thing you will notice is how light the SSD is. You would think the box is empty.

First time of using SSD, it really impressed me, the performance is incredible fast, it takes the laptop to a different level, after installed the new hard drive, usually takes about just over a minutes to get into the desktop and ready, now it takes less than 10 seconds, I swear that is the truth. If anyone wants a upgrade to an old computer, a new SSD hard drive its a must. Samsung it’s a reliable brand, like it the first time.

I bought this to replace my Intel Pro 2500 and to be honest I haven't seen any real difference in boot time between this drive and my old Intel one in relation to Windows 11. But saying that, I have seen an improvement in relation to file downloads over the internet. Also an improvement in file transfers between other drives. So to be practically honest, I would suggest if you have the money to invest a better drive than this one!

My hard drive failed on me out of the blue, all I had to do was unplug it and plug this one with the same cables and I was ready to go, took 2 mins. My computer went from 10 mins boot time to 30 seconds, I'd been meaning to upgrade my windows onto a ssd for a while but I was too lazy so I'm glad my hard drive finally made me do it, 100% reccomend, not only booting is faster but my entire pc, loading programmes etc.

My 2013 iMac was starting to show its age. Already maxed out the ram to 32GB but was still lacking in the performance you would expect, more so following recent updates to OS. Last resort was to remove the old mechanic hard drive and see if an SSD would improved things! And boy have they! It’s breathed new life into my iMac. Boot times have gone from around 5 minutes to around 20 seconds, and I’m not exaggerating!

May I simply say, this drive is often incompatible with many controllers, UNLESS YOU DISABLE Native Command Queuing, which then cripples the performance of this and additional drives. I have been using Samsung SSD drives for quite some time. Prior to that, had experience with Seagate and inland. Overall, the migration always takes time and sometimes is painful. And when you have reliability or speed issues, it means you have to purchase another product and migrate again. After trying Samsung, with its decent speed and reliable drives, I will not experiment with another vendor.

I've bought three of these. The first was to expand the SSD on my Asus ROG G750 from 250 to 500Gb. Was so impressed with the performance that decided to upgrade the HD's on another Asus and an HP DV7 both around 12 years old. It was transformative. I was going to junk the older laptops as were becoming so slow, It's given them a new lease of life and saved me over a thousand pounds in process.

Added to my ageing (10 year old) 2nd gen. Core i5 laptop as a replacement for a traditional HDD and I didn't expect quite the performance improvement that I have got. Turns out my bottlenecks were never CPU or network after all. Easy enough to fit if you're confident opening up your old machine and installing an operating system from scratch (or migrating from the old disk to this one).

Brilliant work around to speed up an old laptop. Used to wait ages to do anything on it with old style disk, now almost as fast as my new one. Easy to transfer the whole of the old drive to new with the downloadable program and used a "you tube" video to find out how to open the laptop and replace the drive. My wife loves it and has given an old laptop a brilliant future.

I bought this to replace a mechanical drive in a laptop that is eight years old, the difference is night and day. I purchased this to use to move files from one laptop to another. It doesn’t come with any wires and a magnify glass is needed to read the information provided. Am achizitionat 2 SSD-uri pentru a face un upgrade la un Lenovo Y50-70 si un Acer Travel Mate. Sunt foarte multumit de produs. This drive is not fully compatible with AMD 600,700,800 and 900 series chipsets SATA Controller (the whole range, i.e. SB710,750,790,SB800,860,890,SB900, 950 etc....) There are many SATA controllers SAMSUNG will not work with. Do your research online before you buy, they are the one of the most incompatible drive out there, despite what they claim! Basically SAMSUNG and INTEL seem to be hand in glove, leaving the rest of us with crippled drives due to disabling one of the best features of AHCI, or not noticing the problem and having a drive full of data errors with NCQ on. If you install it using AHCI mode on BIOS it gives constant 'CRC error rate increase' (I had 166 in 3 hours, others may get more or less but always increases a bit every hour), unless you DISABLE NCQ IN THE REGISTRY. (Changing drivers to Windows default makes no difference). NO WARNING ABOUT THS ON THE PRODUCT PAGE, AMD USERS READ THIS AND BEWARE OF ALL SAMSUNG DRIVES This has to be done because CRC errors can easily result in corrupted data. By disabling NCQ it is much slower as NCQ allows multiple queued read and writes. Also any other drives using NCQ on your system will then perform slower. With NCQ off, a mechanical drive it will actually wear out quicker also.

Basically you can trust it to work and be great quality. Speed increases against normal spinning HD's is obvious. And it's 7mm thin so will fit in the latest places. 500gb is plenty for anyone not crunching video. Excellent

On motherboard worked fine, with usb boot managed to install os on it. When used with second caddy wasn recognised. The ssd is good and has 5 years waranty cost more then pny ssd( first option) but i think it s worth it.

Dead in 3 months with low usage. Samsung Magician scan showed almost 50% corrupted. The next day it made a whirring and loud click sound and no longer works. No computer recognizes it exists when hooked up.

I usually get samsung drives, and was not disappointed with this one for a relative's pc. Just works, plug and play. Remember to get a drive bay adapter and cables if needed.
