I bought this almost 3 years ago from Curry's PC World and from day 1 it is just too slow to respond to anything, let it be playing/pausing/rewinding/fast-forwarding a DVD, a film on Amazon Prime, a YouTube, etc. It is just too slow! If you don't mind waiting all day for it to pick up then go ahead and buy it. I decided to write a review now because I am just sick of it and every time it is too slow I tell myself that I need to write a review ... there we go! Other than that and out of fairness, it seems to have a few good features and it is still working 3 years down the line.

I have had this a while now and hate it! Only thing i use it for is to watch netflix because i have given up trying to use it for anything else! Internet browser is rubbish and takes forever to search for anything using the remote! Tried to connect my phone for my photos and music using the smart view app which asks for a pin that the dvd player is SUPPOSED to give you. Gave up with it now, its a basic dvd player with the plus that i can use netflix on it. Absolute rubbish! Wont buy samsung technology again.

I wanted to replace my defunct DVD player & discovered that these new gadgets can do so much more! Although the BBC i-Player occasionally freezes I'm pleased to be able to catch up with the good shows that are on whilst I'm at work. Also love that I can access Youtube & play favourite music videos on the TV & just do my work on my laptop rather than trying to do both at once. It's a bit slow to load & looking things up by typing in words takes a bit of time but otherwise a really great gadget.

Yet another BluRay that started out great and failed at exactly one month out of warranty! As time went by it loaded slower and slower. Complete failure on all apps except disc at 13 months.

Best DVD / Blu-Ray player I've ever bought. So easy to setup and it plays AVI (xvid) and MKV files.
You do get iPlayer, iTV Hub, Channel 4 and Channel 5 catch up TV on it though, as well as Netflix, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Amazon Prime, a web browser and plenty of other apps (although they're not that good but I guess it depends on personal preference).
My only setback is that it won't run any Sky apps as Samsung use their own OS on this player which isn't android compatible.

Excellent set up, literally plug, update and start watching. I have a very weak internet connection in my house despite the use of boosters to help me out. Thankful this smart little DVD picked up my connection straight away and I've been watching on demand tv through all the apps ever since. It even has a live fitness instructor app so I can get back in to my yoga routine. Definitely worth every penny. It's the best one I researched out of all the different ones on the market! Enjoy!

This is the second one purchased for our house. Fantastic and does so much for a much lower price than other players. Wifi is excellent and apps are easy to use. Amazon Netflix I player and loads more. Will probably ask you to update when you first plug it in just let it do it no problems here. Plays most discs blue ray, DVD, divx etc. plus loads of other features. Spent a lot of time looking at what other makes and models do. Their updated model doesn't do half of what this one does.

I've read some great reviews and the price is great for what u get. There's a good range of apps and picture and sound quality are great.
However... The apps for my liking were very unresponsive when typing. Taking what felt like forever to type email addresses and passwords in.
Also, I think it might of been a fault with my model but the disk drive was very loud. Almost drowning out the sound from the speakers. This for me made me return it and I went for th lg model instead.

I bought this as iplayer had stopped working on my Sony blu ray player. I have a Sony TV but bought Samsung as was recommended by friends. It was just what I wanted. Internet access to web based apps such as TED, Netflix etc and also all the catch up TV. Does have wifi but I use a cable to router.
Very easy to set up virtually plug and go. Adding apps I needed to follow instructions though but straight forward enough.
All this AND a blu ray payer too! Can't recommend enough.

I'm more than happy with this Samsung player. It was easy to set up, has an array of features including Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, all of the catch up TV apps, and many more. The picture quality is very good, and I find it really easy to navigate the home menu. Sound quality is fine, though could be slightly better in my opinion.
I love the design and the simplicity of the remote control, and all in all am very pleased I made this purchase. I would definitely recommend.

We have now got two of these, one in lounge, one in bedroom, same setup, different size televisions. We have them both connected to the Samsung sound base. Hence the sound is really good. The sound when it came through the tv on startup did sound ok. We already had cinema systems but they have been replaced. This smart player is really well worth having, our tvs are already smart as well. Ordered in the morning, delivered the same day in the evening. Well done.

Brilliant, no spaghetti wires.....only two cables, power and connection from TV to sound bar. It looks good, streamlined AND slimline fit beneath your TV. If you have a Samsung TV it will auto sound connect to it. It has a great sound and various sound functions eg music, voice and sports. You can go boom or soft in sound with woofer level increase/decrease and the surround sound from the stand with the built in sub woofer is very good. Great sound and value.

Would have expected Bluetooth connectivity these days for audio output. Not happy with optical out only if you don't want the TV on when just playing music on usb or cd. Don't like the way it keeps and displays, on switching on, the previous things played, even when those are things have been disconnected and therefore wouldn't play even if selected- it should only give a list of what is actually available to be selected for playing.

If you want a BluRay player that includes digital TV and isn't too expensive then this is for you. We've got kids and with the best will in the world they are not gentle with electronics so this is perfect as they can watch their BluRays and DVDs but if it gets broken it's not a big deal. Having YouTube, Netflix and the terrestrial on-demand services is a bonus. The menus are not that intuitive and the TV remote only works with Samsung TVs.

I bought mine in Nov 2015. It came with BBC iPlayer, ITV player & 4OD. Latest firmware update swapped ITV Player for Amazon. This is really annoying, I guess I'll have to see if I can downgrade to the previous version to get it back.
I don't think firmware updates should remove features without warning. Especially if like me you bought the device for the service that is being deleted
Otherwise, its OK but a bit slow and missing Demand 5

View video and photos and listen to music files stored on different devices (cloud OneDrive ,PC and mobiles). I used "TV Assist" for my iPhone from the app store.
Internet apps and Catch-up services such as BBC IPlayer work fine.
Light plastic but seems strong enough. Limited outputs but HDMI and optical are fine for my needs.

I love that it has all the main apps that I mainly use to watch tv such as Netflix , itv player , 4od and 5 star . With this dvd player , you can never get bored as there is so much to watch and even if you don't want to watch tv , you can put your cds in to listen to music or watch your favourite dvds .

Good alrounder but instructions could be better plus clarity over sound connection with a soundbar definitly needs improvement as it did not work for us hence had to route it via the TV then soundbar.
Using it with a 4K TV hence why we bought this specific model.
Good picture and worked so far on both DVDs and BlueRays.
Did not buy it for 3D hence cannot comment on that.

This Blu-Ray player does it's job really well,and the addition of the wifi allows you to watch 'catch up' services etc on this unit too.
All in all a good buy,i would have given it 5 stars if I could have the clock showing on the lcd display,but you can't as there isn't one.Other than this the player is very good.

Able to connect and share with lots of devices. Phones (iphone, samsung, Sony) with PC , tablets and cloud (OneDrive). Even can view photos directly from my canon 6d camera.
Have the HDMI connected to the TV and optical cable to my sound system and cable connection to sky broadband router. All setup easily.

The big plus is that this turns your TV into a smart tv. My daughter wanted smart features on her otherwise perfectly good TV and this was a way of doing it for very little extra cost as she needed a DVD player.As it is WIFI you can connect to the internet without access in the room it is being used in. Samsung is a very reliable brand too

Bought this because my old DVD player stopped playing music CD's and newer DVD's. This machine plays everything perfectly, even slideshows I have created on my computer. Picture and sound quality are both excellent. I can't comment on Blu-Ray quality, because as yet I don't have any Blu-Ray discs. Would definitely recommend this product.

Setting up was easy and picture/sound quality is excellent. Having 'on demand' TV apps built in (including ITV player) is very useful. One small niggle: when connected to my home network and playing albums stored on my PC, all tracks are played in alphabetical order instead of track number order, and it seems this cannot be amended.

I bought this to connect to a “non smart” Samsung TV. Now I have catch up TV that wasn’t possible before. And it gets all the catch up channels like BBC iPlayer, ITV, All 4 and My5, not to mention Netflix, YouTube, Amazon, etc. It also upscales DVDs to dramatically improve the picture. Had this player about six months and find generally good but it will not always play bluray discs it will load but once you push play the screen says it is not supported, have looked on the web and this seems to be a general problem which Samsung has not sorted out todate.

It connects to the internet easily. It could do with a keyboard to make it easier to enter the information.
It doesn't have android apps which is a bit frustrating. But it does have the popular ones.

Easy to set up and use, but I would have preferred the controls to be on the front panel instead on the top.

This was brought as a Christmas present as it advertised that one of its features was 4kUHD. However, the recipient was disappointed to find that this does not play or seem to upscale to 4k as advertised. Item returned.

I purchased this Blu-ray player last December. For the money this player has proven itself highly capable when watching Blu-ray discs in both 2D & 3D providing, crisp, sharp pictures. Sound is good and connectivity is excellent as are the on demand features.

For the price, this DVD player is excellent, especially as it's 3D. Loads of smart features and connects easily to my Android phone. Just just downloaded the Smartview app, connect to the DVD player, and look at pictures or videos straight from your phone.

Excellent replacement for my old player . Small and easy to use . I had a problem with one of my Blu-ray disks which was one of a box set of 2 .It played on my old player . Also a couple of my AVCHD home made disks were rejected but others played o.k.

I would thoroughly recommend this product if you don't have a Smart TV. It will convert your LED TV into a Smart one. As long as you have an internet connection you can use this unit anywhere in your home through the built in WI-FI.
