I bought this almost 3 years ago from Curry's PC World and from day 1 it is just too slow to respond to anything, let it be playing/pausing/rewinding/fast-forwarding a DVD, a film on Amazon Prime, a YouTube, etc. It is just too slow! If you don't mind waiting all day for it to pick up then go ahead and buy it. I decided to write a review now because I am just sick of it and every time it is too slow I tell myself that I need to write a review ... there we go! Other than that and out of fairness, it seems to have a few good features and it is still working 3 years down the line.

I have had this a while now and hate it! Only thing i use it for is to watch netflix because i have given up trying to use it for anything else! Internet browser is rubbish and takes forever to search for anything using the remote! Tried to connect my phone for my photos and music using the smart view app which asks for a pin that the dvd player is SUPPOSED to give you. Gave up with it now, its a basic dvd player with the plus that i can use netflix on it. Absolute rubbish! Wont buy samsung technology again.

My biggest gripe after one day is that it's ironic that an H-series Blu-Ray disk player hasn't been designed to support a Blue-Tooth keyboard. The latest crop of H-series HDTVs do! How difficult would it have been to include a Blue-Tooth ASIC on the player's motherboard so I could use the Blue-Tooth keyboard that came with my Samsung HDTV. Really? Another possible gripe is possible functionality issues with using the TV remote to control the player. Still trying to get it to work. Hard to believe that it wouldn't between tow Samsung products from the same model year. 3 Stars for features for not including Blu-Tooth for an otherwise internet ready DVD player.

I have always been a big fan of Samsung products, however, this player is poorly designed. The on-board controls are ineffectively placed on top of the player and very difficult to see. A frustrating feature is that the player does not always remember where you leave off when watching a dvd, and requires that you fast-forward to get back to where you were. Finally, my pet peeve is with the controller. As a fairly large man, I am constantly hitting the wrong buttons due to the extremely small size of the controller. All that said, I cannot recommend this model, but still enjoy my other Samsung products, especially the HDTV.

The web browsing feature of this product is just awful. The product was okay otherwise - some issues, but passable - but including a feature that is so awful is reason to avoid this product like the plague. Samsung should learn to not include a feature if it going to create anger with their customers - better to have fewer features than a customer who will never buy a Samsung product again and will tell everyone they can to do the same. I selected this product - and paid more - so I could use the browser and access things like hulu in addition to the apps included. Do NOT make the same mistake.

The BD-H6500 Blu-Ray player was an outstanding addition to my audio and video experience. Besides the very pleasing Blu-Ray experience, this unit easily solved the one problem that I thought I had with my sound system, that is the desire to play Netflix and Pandora from my Smart TV through my sound system rather than through the TV's inadequate speakers. The BD-H6500 provides the Smart capability also and permitted me to get these services directly into my receiver for both synchronized video and audio output. As a matter of fact, I am still exploring the other services provided by this new addition to my entertainment suite. And the price was right so the value is there. Thanks Samsung for a quality product.

Purchased this after a lot of research and deliberation. The price is slightly higher than I wanted to spend, but the reputation of this device combined with the features and performance reviews helped me decide. Out of the box it seemed a bit "flimsy" so I was somewhat surprised when I powered this thing on. Looks like a toy but performs like a tank. Fast, and awesome video/sound quality. The included apps are great and the wireless performance/reliability has been better than expected. At the end of the day, this thing rocks! Don't let the "cheaper" appearance fool you.

Good overall performance and good value. We have it connected to a wired internet connection and the speed of the system seems pretty good. Also boot time is short. My only complaints are that the remote should be bigger so that Samsung can add some easy to find primary buttons like Hub, NetFlex, Play, stop, pause etc. Everything is just too compact. We use this player in our bedroom so it is dark and the remote is difficult to use even though the remote is backlit. I also would like to see the ability to customize the app screen more than Samsung gives the ability for. In short you can't put your favorite apps on the Home screen. You can only move them around on the secondary screen causing extra button presses.

I purchased one because my old player of another brand stopped working and the other brand had very little available on their site. This player had more features than my old one and more features than I needed since I don't have or plan to get a 3 D television, but based on reviews of various others, this appeared to be the best in a reasonable price range. I did have some issues in set up and had to get help, but the reps. We're very nice and were able to resolve the issue. I have another television in a room I use as an office and workout area and have recently discovered some videos I can only view online. Watching them on my computer is t cutting it so I ordered another of these because of the web browser feature.

Love this BD player. I bought a 4K UHD TV a few months before. Got the Samsung Player a few weeks ago. It is an excellent pairing. All of the features are great. Highly recommend it. The only thing I'm not crazy about with it is the remote control. It needs to be tweaked a little to make this player perfect. Only small things like the back light for night use and a few other small things. I haven't bought disks for movies in a while ( usually stream) , but this player and my 4K work together to bring better quality to watching shows and movies than streaming.

I am very happy with this attractive little unit. It's ready for 4k content whenever that becomes available. It supports 3D, whenever I get around to purchasing a 3D tv. The settings menu is easy to navigate, and the remote has all the features you will ever need. I did have a brief struggle matching the color space to my HDTV, but that was easy enough to configure in the settings. I do wish this model had more audio-out options, but a digital audio cable is easy to come by, so I'll have to go that route. Overall performance is excellent, you won't be sorry.

While this one is for playing 3D as well as 2D discs, I wanted one that was similar in style to the player I was replacing, which was a 2d bluray player. Minor issues with that one made it necessary to finally upgrade. So far so good with this new player. Easy to set up. Discs load quickly and apps like Netflix and Hulu come up quickly as well. One minor flaw is with the Recommended Apps. While I can understand you can't remove them, it would be nice to be able to move them into an order different than what they are, as you can under My Apps.

This is the next best thing to having RUKU. Why have two boxes when this will do the same and play Blue Ray disks too! It is fast processing your streaming media. Only two comments I have. 1) if you use a mouse (and I recommend you do) be aware that not all media apps will support use of a mouse. Uou will find you still need to use your remote for some selecting. The mouse does work well for all the Blue Ray selections and for selecting media apps from the menu. 2) I wish, and there may even be a way, to make the font larger in the main menu when selecting apps. My tired old eyes like larger font. That said, if you are using a new plasma or LCD screen you will be fine. I have a old HD rear projection...guess I need a new SAMSUNG TV (LoL)

The Samsung loads a disc faster than anything I've seen and I was drawn to it after watching an online review. It also does wonderful upscaling making my non Blu-ray discs look awesome. Some of the screens for logging into different streaming services have nicer and more intuitive interfaces. However the home screen and the HUB screen are kinda quirky and unpolished and the large transport button on the top is just strange. I was able to plug in the power, network and HDMI cable and start using immediately without opening the manual.

I really should write 2 reviews, one for the blu-ray player and one for the online streaming. Thought I might kill 2 birds with one stone with this one. Wanted both an online video streaming device and a blu-ray. The blu-ray is outstanding and the upscaling is as good as it gets. But the streaming side of this is slow and cumbersome and worked fine on several websites initially, but then it no longer would allow me to make selections on pull-down menus. (like my provider on Watch ESPN rendering that sight, and several others unusable). Frustrating, and the factory reset won't take you back to the original firmware, so if the an upgrade to the firmware caused the issue, apparently it's permanent. Haven't tried the 3D yet, but the reviews are excellent.

So far I have only register this BD on line with Samsung and gone through the setup process. The registering software had a problem recognize the serial number which I checked several times. Also, Creating a password you are not allowed to use 3 consecutive numbers or characters. I used two and kept getting a warning of three continuous characters. I finally changed my whole password and the warning went away. The setup process through the DB was stressful. I thought I was back in the 70's with character based equipment. Slow and cumbersome. It is not an alternate device for the internet unless you like pulling your hair out. I almost fear going in and trying to setup Netflix. This is the extent of my experience with Db-H6500, and, therefore, my rating.

If you watch an adult multimedia item, it will show a nice screenshot on the home page of your DVD player of the last 10 recently played items. This cannot be removed without watching 10 new family-safe media items. This showing of history cannot be changed in settings! The player directs the user to use SmartView app to show media from smartphone on the player but the app will only work for TVs as per developer feedback on app reviews. Therefore, you cannot display from your phone in this manner. You must use Samsung's Cloud service. You cannot use Google Drive (Cloud) data on this player either. OneDrive supposedly links with Samsung but I did not try it. Very disappointed, do not recommend. I would return it if I knew I could get my gift code back...

Clarity of picture automatic sensing of the type of TV and Disk. Automatically switches to the proper display for the disc format and automatic upscaling of DVD output to UHD or 3D on my Samsung JS9000 TV. A wonderful Combination at a reasonable price. I did not need the additional smart mode for APPS as these were already available on my TV, but as a trial I connected it to an older standard HDTV and the apps worked great and it matched the maximum display quality of that TV. A win win regardless of the HDTV you have.

Purchased this one to replace Samsung 3d Blu-ray player that would not play newer movies because of no firmware update. Have to say I was surprised at the ease of setting this one up as compared to the 2010 model. Plays Blu-ray movies flawlessly. It seems to have a better picture than the original. There was 1 hiccup in the setup. The remote refused to work but a quick call to Samsung technical support and a replacement remote is on the way. I am sure alot of you know how to check to see if a remote is broadcasting an infrared signal but I didn't. For those that don't use the camera on your phone and point the remote at it. You will see a light if it is working. Thanks Samsung technical for teaching an old dog new tricks. Just all around good experience with Samsung products.

I wanted to replace my defunct DVD player & discovered that these new gadgets can do so much more! Although the BBC i-Player occasionally freezes I'm pleased to be able to catch up with the good shows that are on whilst I'm at work. Also love that I can access Youtube & play favourite music videos on the TV & just do my work on my laptop rather than trying to do both at once. It's a bit slow to load & looking things up by typing in words takes a bit of time but otherwise a really great gadget.

I was looking for a combination blu-ray and DVD player player that could handle the new version of the you tube web site, have a visual display on the front, a built in wi-fi, and not be too expensive. The 3D model BD-H6500 had everything I was looking for. I do not have a 3D TV but this blu-ray player is ready when I do get a 3D TV. After I got this player hooked up to the internet, I was in for a surprise. Not only can it get the internet sites listed on the packing box, there are more internet sites it can pic up including Facebook, free movie channels, free radio stations worldwide, shopping channels, and the capability to download apps for more internet sites. It is almost like having a blu-ray player and computer in the same machine. I am very happy! I recommend this model for everyone!

I have had the BD-H6500 for a couple of months. Overall, a great machine. It was very easy to set up on my wireless network. I like the apps that come with the player, as well as the additional apps that are available.Operation of the player has been pretty flawless. My biggest gripe is the remote. It is laid out in a way that is inconvenient to use. I do not have a huge hand but the keys that you use frequently are poorly designed. Wrong place on the remote; too small; and too close together

Yet another BluRay that started out great and failed at exactly one month out of warranty! As time went by it loaded slower and slower. Complete failure on all apps except disc at 13 months.

Best DVD / Blu-Ray player I've ever bought. So easy to setup and it plays AVI (xvid) and MKV files. You do get iPlayer, iTV Hub, Channel 4 and Channel 5 catch up TV on it though, as well as Netflix, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Amazon Prime, a web browser and plenty of other apps (although they're not that good but I guess it depends on personal preference). My only setback is that it won't run any Sky apps as Samsung use their own OS on this player which isn't android compatible.

Excellent set up, literally plug, update and start watching. I have a very weak internet connection in my house despite the use of boosters to help me out. Thankful this smart little DVD picked up my connection straight away and I've been watching on demand tv through all the apps ever since. It even has a live fitness instructor app so I can get back in to my yoga routine. Definitely worth every penny. It's the best one I researched out of all the different ones on the market! Enjoy!

This is my first blu-ray player. It and a sound bar replaced a seriously out of date AM/FM audio system, CD juke box, and DVD player. Thus far (less than a month) I have no complaints with the BD-H6500/ZA hardware. However, the User Manual is HORRIBLE, and seems to have been written for users who have gone through several generations of home entertainment systems. As a long retired technical writer, I'll pass along one of the guidelines we used to follow: KISS (keep it simple stupid).

This is the second one purchased for our house. Fantastic and does so much for a much lower price than other players. Wifi is excellent and apps are easy to use. Amazon Netflix I player and loads more. Will probably ask you to update when you first plug it in just let it do it no problems here. Plays most discs blue ray, DVD, divx etc. plus loads of other features. Spent a lot of time looking at what other makes and models do. Their updated model doesn't do half of what this one does.

I've read some great reviews and the price is great for what u get. There's a good range of apps and picture and sound quality are great. However... The apps for my liking were very unresponsive when typing. Taking what felt like forever to type email addresses and passwords in. Also, I think it might of been a fault with my model but the disk drive was very loud. Almost drowning out the sound from the speakers. This for me made me return it and I went for th lg model instead.

I bought this as iplayer had stopped working on my Sony blu ray player. I have a Sony TV but bought Samsung as was recommended by friends. It was just what I wanted. Internet access to web based apps such as TED, Netflix etc and also all the catch up TV. Does have wifi but I use a cable to router. Very easy to set up virtually plug and go. Adding apps I needed to follow instructions though but straight forward enough. All this AND a blu ray payer too! Can't recommend enough.

I'm more than happy with this Samsung player. It was easy to set up, has an array of features including Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, all of the catch up TV apps, and many more. The picture quality is very good, and I find it really easy to navigate the home menu. Sound quality is fine, though could be slightly better in my opinion. I love the design and the simplicity of the remote control, and all in all am very pleased I made this purchase. I would definitely recommend.

I am pleased with my Samsung purchase! I rated 3 stars on design because of the location of the buttons on the player. They are located on top of the player, which for my purposes, is a horrible place for them to be. I cant stack anything on top of it, because the item on top blocks the buttons. And it really limits where I can place it in an entertainment center. If I place it too close to the shelf above it, it makes it complicated to reach the buttons. Yes, I can use the remote; but I am someone that uses the buttons on the machine when I place the disc into the player. That being my only reservation about the player, I would buy another one if it needed to be replaced for some reason. The Netflix app access's the Netflix servers in about half the time my Samsung TV does. That's a nice added bonus to my purchase.

I am very impressed with this Blu-ray player. SI I'm a cheapskate I do believe the price could come down 20%. But that's neither here nor there. Plenty of space for other apps to download as well as a decent selection to choose from. I do think the YouTube app could be more Interactive and user-friendly. Find it difficult to search for videos by typing. Maybe adding a voice recognition to the remote. Free million dollar idea Samsung you better run with it and if you don't cut me 1% of all profits created from that new upgrade at least give the shout out to the man who give you the brilliant idea. LOL actually a very nice Union altogether I have not had the opportunity yet to try a Blu-ray disc but if it is anything like any other Samsung product I have purchased it probably works wonderfully with excellent video quality.

This product is great however, there are a few minor bugs I found within it. First bug is the Compatibility with certain apps. I've had to restart some apps because they wouldn't work with the blue ray player. Second is the sign in process, it took me hour to do so, added to the fact that most of the features don't work without signing in. But overall it is a great product and I am certainly satisfied with it and cannot wait for more great products from Samsung!

We have now got two of these, one in lounge, one in bedroom, same setup, different size televisions. We have them both connected to the Samsung sound base. Hence the sound is really good. The sound when it came through the tv on startup did sound ok. We already had cinema systems but they have been replaced. This smart player is really well worth having, our tvs are already smart as well. Ordered in the morning, delivered the same day in the evening. Well done.

Brilliant, no spaghetti wires.....only two cables, power and connection from TV to sound bar. It looks good, streamlined AND slimline fit beneath your TV. If you have a Samsung TV it will auto sound connect to it. It has a great sound and various sound functions eg music, voice and sports. You can go boom or soft in sound with woofer level increase/decrease and the surround sound from the stand with the built in sub woofer is very good. Great sound and value.

only audio output Would have expected Bluetooth connectivity these days for audio output. Not happy with optical out only if you don't want the TV on when just playing music on usb or cd. Don't like the way it keeps and displays, on switching on, the previous things played, even when those are things have been disconnected and therefore wouldn't play even if selected- it should only give a list of what is actually available to be selected for playing.

Love everything about this player but the browser. Typical poor SAMSUNG functionality. Thought it would be better than our SAMSUNG 4K TV but has the same problems. Doesn't seem to handle flash well, can't stream ESPN, one of the reasons we bought it. Does connect well with TV, great pictures on Blu-ray and standard DVDs. Won't stream videos from our computer via wi-fi, always reconnecting - don't seem to have any wi-fi problems on other devices.

I bought a new Samsung 60inch 4K 3D TV, love it. I had been using another brand Blu-ray player for years with just minor problems. Ordered that same brand for the 4K up converting. Went through 3 of them and never could get it to work right with the Samsung TV. They would hang to the point, I had to unplug the power to even get the disk out. It wasn't the TVs fault. I bought the Samsung BD-H6500 Blu-ray player, hooked it up and not one problem. The setup was amazingly easy. Do yourself a favor if you buy a Samsung, buy a Samsung Blu-ray player. The player and the TV connect automatically and the remote for the Blu-ray player will control your TV, I didn't have to do a thing. Put a 3D disc in and the mode automatically changes to 3D for you. The picture on DVD, Blu-ray and 3D are excellent. The Samsung player was a excellent purchase.

If you want a BluRay player that includes digital TV and isn't too expensive then this is for you. We've got kids and with the best will in the world they are not gentle with electronics so this is perfect as they can watch their BluRays and DVDs but if it gets broken it's not a big deal. Having YouTube, Netflix and the terrestrial on-demand services is a bonus. The menus are not that intuitive and the TV remote only works with Samsung TVs.

I was told that this had the WWE app loaded on it and it was not there. When I tried logging on to their website it was impossible to differentiate between the screen and the type key box. Terrible browser design. I own s5 galaxy and Samsung Galaxy 3 but this one is going back to best buy. after this experience I may not buy the Samsung 4k TV. I wanted to integrate my phone as a advanced remote but at this point I am not going to even try.

I bought mine in Nov 2015. It came with BBC iPlayer, ITV player & 4OD. Latest firmware update swapped ITV Player for Amazon. This is really annoying, I guess I'll have to see if I can downgrade to the previous version to get it back. I don't think firmware updates should remove features without warning. Especially if like me you bought the device for the service that is being deleted Otherwise, its OK but a bit slow and missing Demand 5

I am very pleased with the easy setup and compatible functions with my TV and Samsung Sound bar and that it integrated very easy. The setup only took a few minutes from the time I removed it from the packaging. The only thing I was disappointed about was the fact it did not include the HDMI cable. I did purchase one with gold plated tips and it works well. Overall I would suggest to others it is worth the purchase and the price was great.

The minute I click the power button, it takes over the TV, and is ready to go. I bought it because of the 3D capabilities, and it worked perfectly right from the beginning. It's easy to operate, and I think it was a great buy. I do have reservations with the 3D glasses. They worked great, but it took a moment to realize that there was no real on/off switch--I had to reinsert the little plastic tab that allows the battery to make contact.

I purchased this DVR and I'm sooo glad I did. I put one of my dvds in and could not believe how perfect the picture was. Clearly it was up scaled to a 4k image. It is connected to my 4k Samsung curve tv. Setting this up is as easy as opening a piece of candy. Its smart ready so the apps I have subcriptions to were there and ready for me to log in and use. After an exhausting search for a Blu Ray player that is compatible with the Plex App, I found this one. I originally bought a newer model, but quickly found out that the Samsung smart devices which are Opera based are no longer compatible with Plex. Since most of my home entertainment library is Plex based this Blu Ray player was a perfect fit for my family. I also have a Samsung LCD TV so the device was compatible right out of the box without any configuration on my part. I was a little bit disappointed by how slow the built in internet browser was, but it certainly was not a game changer for me. All of the apps that I have tried so far (Netflix, Plex, Facebook) work very well and I have not had any issues. Although this particular model is more expensive than the newer model, if you are a Plex user I would highly recommend this player!

Runs quietly, start up is about 8 seconds or less, and produces fantastic picture. When paired with my samsung tv with anynet they instantly connected. I replaced a Samsung "Home Theater in a Box" with a component system, using this Samsung BR player. It is, by far, the best BR player I have had. it set up quickly and easily, connects to the Internet efficiently, and plays all CD, DVD and Blu-Ray media flawlessly. Device provides apps, however, you cannot install the apps. Feel free to search and browse for the app you want every time you want to use the app. Bought a recent Blu-Ray (Peter Gabriel - Back to Front), played it on a brand new out of box device, and it skipped at a certain point into the playback all the time. I thought, no way would that happen on a highly rated device with a brand new Blu-Ray disk. The Blu-Ray must be bad. So I got a replacement Blu-Ray. Lo and behold play the new Blu-Ray and it skips in the very same place. Like most other Samsung products the DLNA features are implemented poorly. Most DLNA music players will play songs in the order based on embedded tags within the music files. Not the Samsung DLNA player, it plays them in alphabetical order. So don't even for a moment consider purchasing this for DLNA features they are sure to disappoint.

Hard to review a product that does not work. Received the player as a Christmas gift and looked forward to seeing it,in operation. After trying various HDMI cables and various ports on my A/V amp, the most I saw was a logo. The player immediately went into play mode and then stop. I was never goven an opportunity to enter the set up menu or warch a movie. I cannot think of anything good with this experience and product.

This Samsung blue ray player works great, and at a great price. I'm surprised how quick and responsive it is, compared to the unit I bought from a highly respected company last year (which started overheating and shutting down!). I'm not crazy with the controls on top of the unit, but the overall performance and value far outweigh that, making it a very minor point. I would recommend this to a friend in a heartbeat.

I attempted to have a pc substitute for a Blu-ray player for many years. It worked as an htpc but I was always left wanting a better experience when playing discs. This thing is awesome. It's fast, sleek, and oh so pretty. The smart features work very well, I just haven't played enough with them to figure out customization. It has many options for home theater use. It gets the jobe done but there are a few glitches. 1) A few of my dvd's won't play (and no software updates did not help) 2) Sleek top design on top my look cool but it makes push button usage very confusing 3) would be great iff there was a way to quicken the process of typing in information on apps for search etc. maybe there is a way to piggyback it off my laptop keyboard wirelessly?

I just finished watching a standard DVD using this DVD player that is connected to my new 60" Samsung 4K TV. It handled the blacks very well, and the DVD looked almost as good as a Blu-Ray DVD. I didn't care for the controls being located on top of the player, but since it is so light, I just put it on top of other components. It is a bit pricy, however it performs very well with the upscaling.

Easy setup. Excellent sound and picture quality. View video and photos and listen to music files stored on different devices (cloud OneDrive ,PC and mobiles). I used "TV Assist" for my iPhone from the app store. Internet apps and Catch-up services such as BBC IPlayer work fine. Light plastic but seems strong enough. Limited outputs but HDMI and optical are fine for my needs. Excellent value.

I love my Samsung DVD player because it wasn't hard to set up and it is easy to use . I love that it has all the main apps that I mainly use to watch tv such as Netflix , itv player , 4od and 5 star . With this dvd player , you can never get bored as there is so much to watch and even if you don't want to watch tv , you can put your cds in to listen to music or watch your favourite dvds .

I already had a Blu-Ray player from Samsung that went out. It was a nice unit while it lasted, but it was buggy at times. This unit, however has been great. Nice feature set including the apps. Haven't had a chance to try the web browser functionality yet. It's much faster and more responsive than my previous player. It's been a great unit so far. Will update this review if that changes.

I was shocked how incredibly easy this device is. It was out of the box and operating within minutes. The internet features are fantastic plus it is BluRay and DVD which assists both my collections! My only issue is the remote does not have my TV code, so I have not figured out yet what to do about that. BUT besides that- a perfectly priced high tech device that is sleek and easy.

If you don't never a smart TV this box will give you address to iPlayer, and all the other catch up services, Netflix, Amazon Prime, music and videos steamed from divided across your home network etc. It does so much! Very pleased with it and wish I had bought one years ago.

Good alrounder but instructions could be better plus clarity over sound connection with a soundbar definitly needs improvement as it did not work for us hence had to route it via the TV then soundbar. Using it with a 4K TV hence why we bought this specific model. Good picture and worked so far on both DVDs and BlueRays. Did not buy it for 3D hence cannot comment on that.

The ease of setup was astonishingly quick & easy. We had a Samsung Blu ray player prior to this. When we purchased a new Samsung TV we decided it would be a good idea to buy a newer dvd player as well. The technological advances in the few years since our last Samsung is simply amazing. I use this Blu-ray player and its smart features in a room that has no cable outlet. With my home service I can stream live tv and paid streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, etc) with no added charges on my cable bill. As a Blu-ray player, I buy Samsung because of their reputation of a great picture whether Blu-ray or DVD and the picture is as expected, phenomenal.

The control input is a black disk with black symbols which are impossible to see in other than bright light. A poor operating interface. The remote is cheaply made and the buttons sometimes only work if you press them a couple of times adding more force. Internal contact design and quality is poor. Otherwise it functions reliably and produces a good image.

The menus are out of date, less interactive than Roku, Apple, etc. And they are slow. Otherwise, a good BD and DVD player, though on DVDs the video stops to up scale. So you have to back up to pick up the beginning of a show. The video picture is great after up scaling. This is the only player that I have found which plays CinemaNow movies in DTS 5.1.

Ive always loved the Samsung brand. This Blu-Ray player does it's job really well,and the addition of the wifi allows you to watch 'catch up' services etc on this unit too. All in all a good buy,i would have given it 5 stars if I could have the clock showing on the lcd display,but you can't as there isn't one.Other than this the player is very good.

I can link this to my phone or computer without need of other devices. My children can operate it easily enough on their own without ending up in some menu screen and changing features. It does what it is designed to do and more than what I had expected it to do. I was definitely not let down. So far it has outlasted others like it that I have owned.

So far so GOOD. I upgraded to this model after reading other reviews. When I hooked it up it was easy to get going. Synced well with the T.V. Picture is crisp and clear and I could not be happier with the viewing experience. lots of features I have not used yet but will when the need comes. worth the few extra dollars to get if you are on the fence.

Able to connect and share with lots of devices. Phones (iphone, samsung, Sony) with PC , tablets and cloud (OneDrive). Even can view photos directly from my canon 6d camera. Have the HDMI connected to the TV and optical cable to my sound system and cable connection to sky broadband router. All setup easily. Very pleased with the picture. Excellent.

I love this player. It is easy to set-up and loads blu-ray's quickly. But my favorite are the apps. I can use the Amazon app to watch my favorite shows as well as watch MLB TV games from the comfort of my bed instead of the computer chair. There are even apps to shop, if you want to. Awesome player overall. Would definitely recommend to everyone...

BlueRay works great, but web access is convoluted due to the on screen keyboard. You have to mouse over letters to spell the website and the cursor is not very responsive. And when you finally get to a site, you have to use the same cursor to navigate within the website. Then again, I bought it for the BlueRay.....that is why I rated it highly.

Researched available reasonably-priced upscaling WIFI Blu-ray players to go with my new Samsung 4K UHD 48" Smart TV. The Smart WIFI BD-H6500/ZA was the best. It was easy to set up and easy to use. It has many additional features that I plan to explore over time. It actually came with a very complete user manual which is unusual these days.

The big plus is that this turns your TV into a smart tv. My daughter wanted smart features on her otherwise perfectly good TV and this was a way of doing it for very little extra cost as she needed a DVD player.As it is WIFI you can connect to the internet without access in the room it is being used in. Samsung is a very reliable brand too

I bought his player when I purchased my 65" Samsung 8500 SUHD tv thinking it would not only upscale Blu-Rays to near 4K but also play 4K DVDs when they come out but I've discovered it won't. I've had a few times when it wouldn't recognize my 3D tv and wouldn't play 3D but I just unplug the hdmi cable and plug it back in and it works fine.

Bought this because my old DVD player stopped playing music CD's and newer DVD's. This machine plays everything perfectly, even slideshows I have created on my computer. Picture and sound quality are both excellent. I can't comment on Blu-Ray quality, because as yet I don't have any Blu-Ray discs. Would definitely recommend this product.

This Blu ray player works as expected as Samsung has become a household name in our home. This Blu ray player matched up with our new 2160 Samsung television is gorgeous. Great design and ease of use. I gave it a 4 star because I think that the home screen and the apps page could have been designed with more user personalization. Also, the remote that came with it is missing channel buttons (although the book reports it as having them) so it cannot be used as a universal remote for the player and the tv.

Setting up was easy and picture/sound quality is excellent. Having 'on demand' TV apps built in (including ITV player) is very useful. One small niggle: when connected to my home network and playing albums stored on my PC, all tracks are played in alphabetical order instead of track number order, and it seems this cannot be amended.

It is a pretty user friendly HD Blue Ray player. The picture quality is very clear and watching 3-D movies on it along with the UHD 4K Samsung tv is actually an even better viewing experience than watching 3-D in a movie theater. The visual of the actual player is pretty simple. Very black box, nothing really cool looking about it.

I bought this one because it have lot's of video option and could access to Netflix. Tried the last 3 day to connect to Netflix, and I can't. Got no problem with my internet, my other bluray player, all my device can connect to Netflix, but this one, I can't even confirm my login info, They say it doesn'T exist but it DOES exist.

Bought a new 55" SUHD TV Thanksgiving Night and just had to add a new Blu Ray to it. Easy to set up, and the apps and other features have just blown me away. Haven't had the time to pick up a blu-ray movie yet but can't wait to see what this will do. This set has the upscale 4k on it as well, so this should be very interesting.

This Samsung Blu-Ray Player was super easy to connect to our Samsung LED TV. This Blu-Ray Player with its WiFi capability and built in apps could eliminate the need for cable altogether. The set up wizard was easy to follow and we were watching a movie in only a few minutes after connecting the BD6500 Blu-Ray Player to our TV.

Basic DVD operation. Smart Hub disappointment. Limited in what it can do. GOLF app prominent & cannot delete due to manufacturer. need ability to change apps to my preference not manufacturer. Unable to download Xfinity app in system due to samsung restriction. Only reason I bought DVD in first place. Freezes. Distorted sound.

This dvd player is a SMART dvd player. It has WiFi which is wireless. Watched Netflix on it and no flaws. For the price nothing compares or can compete with the performance. Lastly it is 3D. All the other I tried lagged, or froze using Netflix or you have to have ethernet cord. You need to buy it, you won't regret it!

I bought this to connect to a “non smart” Samsung TV. Now I have catch up TV that wasn’t possible before. And it gets all the catch up channels like BBC iPlayer, ITV, All 4 and My5, not to mention Netflix, YouTube, Amazon, etc. It also upscales DVDs to dramatically improve the picture. When our old TV finally gave up, we got a new 4K TV and this Blu-ray player. We now have a very sharp picture from either the player or the online content we can access through it. I haven't fully set up everything, however, I do like the individualized menus and the storage of apps. The surround sound is great, too!

This player is the perfect upgrade from the 2009 model I purchased with a Samsung 55" 3D LED TV. The setup on this model is very quick and seems more user friendly. The remote is more compact and buttons are easier to work with than the older model. Samsung is the superior product when it comes to TV's and players.

The sound cuts out . this is the second player I tried to use. The first dvd player had the same problem with the sound. The sound cuts out intermittently while watching a show. I returned the first, now the same thing is happening with the second player. I will return the second player also and get my money back.

It's a great BR player lightening fast clicking through the menu's, But for the price I would expect other audio out. It's limited to HDMI/Optical just like most BR players. No legacy audio support, A few RCA jacks wouldn't hurt. I had to replace my soundbar with a new 5.1 system in order to get great sound.
