TIM BAXTER

President and Chief Executive Officer
Samsung Electronics North America

As President and CEO of Samsung Electronics North America, Tim Baxter is responsible for the continued growth and success of Samsung’s $30 billion+ consumer and enterprise businesses across Samsung Electronics America and Samsung Electronics Canada. Tim oversees the strategic vision for these two businesses and leads the sales, marketing, and operations teams within Consumer Electronics, Mobile, Home Appliance, Customer Care, and Services and New Business.
Tim is an industry veteran with more than 30 years of sales, marketing, and leadership experience in consumer electronics, IT, and mobile. He joined Samsung in 2006 as Executive Vice President of sales and marketing for the consumer electronics division of Samsung Electronics America and held various senior leadership roles including, President, COO and CEO of Samsung Electronics America before being appointed to President and CEO of Samsung Electronics North America in July 2017.
Prior to joining Samsung, Tim spent 10 years at Sony Corporation of America, where he rose to become Senior Vice President of strategic marketing. He also spent 13 years at AT&T and Lucent Technologies leading marketing, product management, and sales for various categories in their residential phone businesses.
Tim lives in New Jersey with his wife and their three children. He graduated from Roger Williams University with a Bachelor of Science in marketing and is currently on the Board of Trustees. He holds an honorary degree from Roger Williams University and honorary doctorate from South Carolina State University. Tim also serves on the Board of Directors for the CTIA and Junior Achievement USA.

YOUNG HOON EOM

Young Hoon Eom is the Deputy Head of Samsung Electronics North America, responsible for driving growth in the region and ensuring that Samsung Electronics’ innovations continue to shape and lead North American markets.
Prior to joining the North American executive team in 2017, Young Hoon Eom was the President and CEO of Samsung Electronics Europe for three years, leading a team of 14,000 employees across 17 European markets. Other past roles include Senior Executive President of Sales and Marketing in Samsung Electronics’ Digital Appliances Business where he was responsible for worldwide sales and marketing strategy.
Young-Hoon Eom has held a number of senior strategic and commercial roles for Samsung Electronics in a career that spans more than 30 years. His first European appointment was in 1990 where he worked for six years at Samsung Electronics Germany.
In 2010 he was a leader of North America’s Consumer Business Division, helping to enhance Samsung Electronics’ brand through the delivery of a range of ground-breaking products.
He is a proven leader and expert marketer, having joined Samsung Electronics’ Global Marketing Operations in 2000. During this time he has achieved significant success in terms of business growth and brand development.
Young-Hoon Eom holds an MBA from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and a Bachelor’s degree in metal engineering from Korea University.

Young Sohn is president and chief strategy officer for Samsung Electronics, and Chairman of the Board, Harman International. He leads development and strategy for global innovation, investment and new business creation. Young led the $8 billion acquisition of Harman International Industries.
Prior to joining Samsung Electronics, Young served as CEO of Oak Technologies, Agilent Semiconductor (now Avago) and Inphi Corporation. Under his leadership as CEO and board member, he took PLX Technologies, Synnex Technologies and Inphi public. He also has served on the Boards of ARM, Synnex Corporation and Cymer, Inc.
He serves on the MIT Sloan School North America Board, is a senior advisor to the private equity firm Silver Lake Partners, is a member of the board of directors at Cadence, is a board member of the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA), and is an advisor for the University of California Innovation Council. Young also was a senior advisor for the MIT Media Lab’s One Laptop per Child.
Young holds a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and MS from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

 

DAVID EUN

As President at Samsung Electronics and Samsung NEXT, David Eun leads innovation efforts to develop advanced software and services through compelling startups around the world. David also oversees SmartThings, a leading Internet of Things platform for the connected home. Prior to joining Samsung, David served as President of AOL Media and Studios and as Global Head of Content Partnerships at Google. Before Google, he worked at Time Warner and NBC Entertainment, where he had a variety of roles developing new digital businesses. David is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School.
