Young Hoon Eom is the President and CEO of Samsung Electronics North America, responsible for driving growth in the region and ensuring that Samsung Electronics’ innovations continue to shape and lead North American markets.
Prior to joining the North American executive team in 2017, Young Hoon Eom was the President and CEO of Samsung Electronics Europe for three years, leading a team of 14,000 employees across 17 European markets. Other past roles include Senior Executive President of Sales and Marketing in Samsung Electronics’ Digital Appliances Business where he was responsible for worldwide sales and marketing strategy.
Young-Hoon Eom has held a number of senior strategic and commercial roles for Samsung Electronics in a career that spans more than 30 years. His first European appointment was in 1990 where he worked for six years at Samsung Electronics Germany.
In 2010 he was a leader of North America’s Consumer Business Division, helping to enhance Samsung Electronics’ brand through the delivery of a range of ground-breaking products.
He is a proven leader and expert marketer, having joined Samsung Electronics’ Global Marketing Operations in 2000. During this time he has achieved significant success in terms of business growth and brand development.
Young-Hoon Eom holds an MBA from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and a Bachelor’s degree in metal engineering from Korea University.

Young Sohn is president and chief strategy officer for Samsung Electronics, and Chairman of the Board, Harman International. He leads development and strategy for global innovation, investment and new business creation. Young led the $8 billion acquisition of Harman International Industries.
Prior to joining Samsung Electronics, Young served as CEO of Oak Technologies, Agilent Semiconductor (now Avago) and Inphi Corporation. Under his leadership as CEO and board member, he took PLX Technologies, Synnex Technologies and Inphi public. He also has served on the Boards of ARM, Synnex Corporation and Cymer, Inc.
He serves on the MIT Sloan School North America Board, is a senior advisor to the private equity firm Silver Lake Partners, is a member of the board of directors at Cadence, is a board member of the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA), and is an advisor for the University of California Innovation Council. Young also was a senior advisor for the MIT Media Lab’s One Laptop per Child.
Young holds a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and MS from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

As President at Samsung Electronics and Samsung NEXT, David Eun leads innovation efforts to develop advanced software and services through compelling startups around the world. David also oversees SmartThings, a leading Internet of Things platform for the connected home. Prior to joining Samsung, David served as President of AOL Media and Studios and as Global Head of Content Partnerships at Google. Before Google, he worked at Time Warner and NBC Entertainment, where he had a variety of roles developing new digital businesses. David is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School.
