I bought on Ebay a seemingly genuine looking but cheaper flash drive of this specification. On opening the packaging the flash drive had a black USB2 connector instead of the blue USB3 connector. The print on the item was much larger and in different places than on the original Samsung drive I also own. The genuine USB3 flash drive works very well. I did not test the USB2 version, but I returned it for a full refund.

I was transferring media and it was so inconsistent with transfer rates. When it completed many of the times were corrupted and missing. Never had this issue with any other drives. I returned the drive.

Its getting hot when using. After using 3 months my flash drive began dissapearing from the device manager. And now its telling me that the device is write protected. I cannot use it anymore. Do not recommend at all.

I just bought this drive since the price/gb was quite attractive. Upon receipt, I transferred about 140 gb of data from my Lenovo L380 SSD to the new flash drive. Oh, boy, the write speeds are so inconsistent - started at 50-60 MB/sec and dropped down to 1MB/sec, after about an hour and half and the drive was getting hot. I think read/write speed slows down significantly when the drive gets hot. I am not happy.....

It worked well for only 1 month, today the recording speed was 60 mb/s, and then it dropped to 4 mb/s. Formatting the flash drive to the exFAT and NTFS file systems did not help. Speed remains low. Poor quality product.

I don't know why there are bad reviews on the USB, but I been using this USB more than 2-3 years and never had an issue. Most of parts I liked about this USB is the unbreakable material, speed of transfering files and opening USB, and it never got overheated. Depending on computer, but in my case it took me 10 second to open the USB on PC or sometimes it's less than 10 seconds.

I took this to shambhala and swam with it on my neck for a week then played a show with in Seattle a week later, basically indestructible. I have worn in for a necklace for almost 2 years, its just works as advertised.

I've used this device for over a year. I used it pretty hard when I first got it. It was a drive for a Windows 10 IoT install on a Raspberry Pi 4 for almost 2 months. The drive still writes data at around 230 MB/s and reads at almost 380 MB/s consistently. On USB 2, it starts at around 300 MB/s but slows down to 6.7 MB/s and stays there for the rest of the transfer. This is a solid USB drive. Best one I've used so far.

it stopped workiing after 7 months. had slow writing speeds of less than 40 mb/s in a windows laptop where its reading speeds only reached a max of about 200 mb/s. heated up by 10°c of room temperature within the first 15-20 minutes of being plugged in to a usb 3.0 port. what a waste of money.

thought i had a good brand in samsung, but after 2 months usage, the bar plus usb flash drive failed and would not be recognized by my computers. very disappointed. the information on how to obtain warranty on the 5 year warranty policy of this item is obscure or hidden somewhere, but not on the product package and nowhere i could find on the website.

Use the command prompt to clear attributes. a. Launch a command prompt using the Windows and R keys, typing "cmd" and tap OK. b. Type "Diskpart" and confirm. c. Type "List disk". d. Validate with the Enter key to obtain the list of disks present. e. Look for the number of the USB key by locating to its capacity. f. Select the key by typing "Select disk X" and validate. g. To remove the read-only attribute, type "Attributes disk clear readonly" and validate. h. Type "Attributes disk", then validate to check the result of the operation. i. Type "Exit" and confirm to quit the program. j. Once you exit, re-plug your USB flash drive to check if the write protection error is resolved. 2. Edit the registry. a. Open the Start menu. b. Big disappointment. The read speed is OK, but the write speed is unbelievably poor. I get 260 MB/sec read speed. Writing is less than 60 MB/sec. Snoooooooooooze. Don't buy this product. The advertising "Up to 300MB/s Data Transfer Speed" is grossly misleading.

I was amazed at how small, but mighty it is. This is my new number 1 flash drive, I mainly store my movies, videos and pictures on mine. I put most all of my movies, pictures and other short videos on it and it's still not 1/2 full. The cherry on top is its water, shock, and even x-ray proof.

This is a great flash drive. The design allows for pocket carry. The transfer speeds are extremely fast. I purchased 20 total of these drives for restoring baseline images via acronis. The 3.1 speeds are drastically greater than the 3.0. Also, if considering purchasing the 648Gb, the speeds between the two are drastically in favor of the 128Gb version. Invest the few extra dollars in the 128Gb version for the significantly upgraded transfer speeds.
