How do I join the One UI Beta Programme?

The Samsung One UI Beta (Pie) is now available in the UK for open network devices.


Device Eligibility 

  • New registrations for the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus devices are now closed. Please note: registrations have closed but it is still available for those customers who are currently on it.
  • Registration for the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus, and Galaxy Note8 is now open. 


We're inviting real users to test our latest operating system, the Samsung One UI.  Samsung One UI brings together many of Android Pie's latest features and stability enhancement but brings it to life in line with Samsung's signature syle and pioneering new technologies.


If you participate in the Beta Programme, you will have an opportunity to experience new features and the latest UX. During the Beta Programme, you can directly send us your feedback and experience about performance, stability and usability through our Samsung Members app. This will help us release improved software.


How can I participate in the Beta Programme?Click to Expand

 The One UI Beta Programme (running Android 9.0 Pie) is now available in the UK.


Registration for the beta program for Galaxy S9 and S9+ devices is now closed (but still available for those customers who are already on it).


Registration for Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus, and Galaxy Note8 devices is now open.


To participate, please download the Samsung Members app from Galaxy Apps or Play Store.


After installation, launch Samsung Members, click the notice, and then tap Registration of One UI Beta Program to submit the application form. 


If you have a Samsung Account and meet all the participation criteria, the entire registration process will be completed. If you do not have a Samsung account, you will need to create one in order to participate.


The software is not the official version and unexpected data loss may occur in certain situations. We strongly recommend users back up their data using Smart Switch before installing Beta software. We also recommend you update all apps to their latest version as errors and malfunctions may occur in the event of compatibility issues.


Once the registration process is completed, you will be able to install the software. You can do this through the settings menu: Settings > Software update > Download updates manually.


Please note that the software update may not be available immediately after registration.








Where can I get help if I encounter an error installing beta software?Click to Expand

The Beta Programme is run by Samsung and is independently conducted without network operators. Samsung Service Centres can support recovery if errors occur during software installation. Give us a call on 0330-726-7864




How can I send feedback to Samsung or ask questions about the Beta Programme?Click to Expand

You can do this under the Beta Feedback section of the Samsung Members app.


You can send performance-related feedback such as errors, malfunctions, and poor performance to Beta Feedback > Send Feedback > Error Reports in the app.  Please send the log within two to three minutes immediately after the problem occurs, and do not remove the process for up to five minutes. This will allow the background log transfer job to complete. 


If you have any UX or UI-related feedback such as new suggestions or usability, please post it under Suggestion in the Beta Community menu.


For beta software installation, registration, and all related queries, please send them through Ask questions under the Beta feedback menu of the Samsung Members app. 


How can I quit the Beta Programme and restore the official software?Click to Expand

You can cancel your participation by going into the Samsung Members app and going to Settings > Galaxy Beta Programme > Deregister.

You can re-install software by using the PC version of Smart Switch. Once the software is re-installed, the device will be reset and all data that was generated during the Beta Program will be erased.


All data which had been backed up before installing the beta software can be recovered, but there may be limitations in recovering data that was created after installing the beta software.

Is there any reward for participating in the Beta Programme?Click to Expand

The Beta Programme is based on user opt-in. Samsung will provide enhanced software and better performing services based on collected feedback from Beta Programme.

Participants may use beta software only for personal, non-commercial purposes, and also are required to follow the activity guidance as set out in the Terms and Conditions.

Do I have to pay to participate in the Beta Programme?Click to Expand

The programme is free of charge but you will need to connect to the internet to install the software and updates. Using your data network to download or update the software may occur a cost. We recommend you download and update software using a Wi-Fi connection.
