After several weeks of actively using the Tumble Dryer Series 9 AI Home 9KG, I can now give a fairly objective assessment of its qualities. This is an advanced, high-tech appliance with genuinely strong advantages — but also a number of shortcomings that become especially noticeable in a product positioned as premium-level. Pros 1. Design and appearance The first thing that stands out is the modern and aesthetically appealing design. The machine looks expensive, minimalist, and fits perfectly into an interior with contemporary appliances. The black and metallic accents, clean lines, and well-designed control panel all create a feeling of thoughtfulness and technological sophistication. 2. Intelligent features and convenient controls AI Home and the built-in intelligent algorithms really do work. The dryer automatically selects a program based on the weight and type of fabric and, in most cases, does so correctly. The controls are well thought out too: touch buttons, a clear interface, and the option to control the dryer from a smartphone — everything is top-notch. 3. Drying quality After a cycle, clothes come out genuinely soft, even, and without over-drying — which is important when you have delicate fabrics at home. Clothing retains its shape, doesn’t shrink, and feels “store-fresh.” 4. Long-lasting pleasant scent One of the most pleasant and unexpected advantages is the smell. After drying, clothes retain a fresh scent for up to a week — something rarely seen even in more expensive competing models. This feeling of “freshness” really adds comfort. 5. Quiet operation Despite the power and drum volume, the appliance operates quietly and doesn’t create discomfort, even at night or with the door closed in a nearby room. 6. Internal drum lighting The drum lighting, although provided by a single small lamp, turned out to be genuinely useful in everyday use. It gives enough light to clearly see the contents and avoid forgetting small items. The lighting isn’t perfect and could be more even, but the feature is still helpful and undeniably increases convenience. Cons And this is where things become surprising — especially considering the price. 1. Overpriced The price is truly excessive. This isn’t just “expensive” — it’s a level of pricing comparable to ultra-premium appliances, where you expect: • a metal body, • maximum power, • uncompromising build quality, • top-tier materials, • minimum drying time. Unfortunately, the price does not match the level of execution you actually get. 2. Plastic body — completely unacceptable for this class of appliance This is the most critical drawback. Despite the model being positioned as premium, the majority of the body is made of ordinary plastic. And this is immediately noticeable — both visually and by touch. The plastic creates the feeling of “regular household equipment,” not a device in this price category. In the premium segment, plastic is essentially taboo. For this kind of money, the body should be metal — or at least made of high-grade composite materials. Because of the plastic, the sense of premium quality drops sharply, and doubts arise about durability and resistance to wear. 3. Insufficient heat pump power → long cycles The drying quality is good, yes. But it takes too long. Some programs last significantly longer than you would expect from an appliance priced nearly like a small car. The heat pump is noticeably underpowered — you end up waiting longer than you should. Combined with the high cost, this creates a feeling of imbalance: you pay for premium, but the performance is standard. 4. Increased electricity consumption due to long cycles The longer the cycle, the higher the total energy use. The technology itself is energy-efficient, but ultra-long programs negate some of that benefit. 5. Excessively frequent drum cleaning reminders This is an additional drawback that becomes apparent during use. The system requires running the Drum Clean+ program every 10 cycles — sometimes even if the previous drying cycle was interrupted and not completed. For comparison, the Series 9 washing machine recommends a drum clean every 40 cycles, which is logical and convenient. Here, however, the frequency is clearly excessive — maintenance becomes intrusive and irritating. For premium-class appliances, such frequent servicing feels unbalanced and inconvenient. What needs improvement in future models 1. Completely abandon plastic. Premium appliances should have a metal body — for both aesthetics and durability. 2. Increase the heat pump power. The dryer works well, but far too slowly. 3. Reduce cycle duration by at least 20–30%. 4. Adjust pricing or raise the level of materials and functionality accordingly. 5. Reconsider the frequency of mandatory maintenance programs. Conclusion The Tumble Dryer Series 9 AI Home 9KG is a genuinely advanced, smart, and convenient dryer. It dries clothes well, makes them soft, keeps a pleasant scent, and features an attractive design. However, despite its technological advantages, the model has several serious drawbacks that are hard to ignore in the premium segment: • an unjustifiably high price not reflected in the materials or performance, • a plastic body completely inappropriate for this class of appliance, • long drying times caused by insufficient heat pump power, • increased energy consumption due to overly long programs, • overly frequent drum-cleaning requirements that interfere with normal operation. If Samsung addresses these issues — strengthens the heat pump, revises the body materials, optimizes cycle duration, and adjusts the maintenance frequency — the next model could truly become the best in its class. For now, it remains an interesting, technologically advanced, and convenient appliance, but one that does not fully justify its high price.

Another super product from Samsung, which is an upgrade from my Series 9. Design and colour are fabulous, with excellent new features, upgraded performance and technology. To add to this energy savings.

AI dry is a great feature, which will automatically reduce the time as per the dryness of clothes

Great machine, really quiet, much faster than our old heat pump drier, no more tangled sheets.
