This is an update to my first review. The machine is performing very well after 11 weeks of use. However, I did have an issue which led me to contacting Samsung Customer Support, and sadly that support was non existent. During an occasion of using 'add garment' to a cotton 40c wash, well into the cycle, I detected no heat to the water whatsoever. After further verification as late into the cycle as possible I later rang the Samsung UK support line and spoke to Raya, but she had little to no product knowledge and despite referring to a colleague, told me the issue would not be escalated. Despite being given the machines model and serial numbers she asked me to go to the machine, switch it on and then turn the selector knob inferring that I had wrongly programmed it - as we know here, there is NO knob, and I told her, 'It is all done by touch screen like your Smart Phone'. So, I later performed a 'product issues' search on my computer and found a response: 'Some users are reporting that this particular machine is not reaching its selected target temperature values'. I later set the machine up to be able to run and monitor the entire wash cycle on every set temperature value, this by overriding the machines door lockout mechanism. As a former, now retired, Mechanical Engineer, this was easy and I could now take temperature measurements with my digital device right through the wash cycles to wash end - drain/rinse cycle, no garments, water only. I measured cold fill and then constantly after 10 min intervals. The 40c (most used temp) rose from 13.1c to 14.9 at wash end. Only 60c cycle proved the heating system actually working; 11.7c, 31,3c ,51.3c, 56,6c, 51,7c, 48,3c wash end-drain/rinse. After overnight deliberation I realised the problem was the AI Energy program which was reducing power consumption by limiting the highest electrical consumer, 'the heating element'. The next day I ran a further test run at 40c after turning off AI Energy and AI patterns, and it was success: temp rose from 11.7c cold infill to 31.6c, 39.7c, 37.4c, 37.8c to wash end-drain/rinse. Why did Samsung Support not know this, this issue was reported in the plural 'User's' having concern. So, Samsung, in future simply advise customers 'that if AI Energy programs are activated on their machines, then it will adversely affect parameters such as target temperatures set'. Now that I have learnt and fine tuned my machine, both it and good old Bixby are working perfectly. Happy Day's.👍

I am absolutely thrilled with my new Samsung Bespoke Series 9 AI Home washing machine — it truly feels like technology from the future. It combines premium design with smart features that make doing laundry incredibly convenient. One of the best features is EcoBubble, which turns detergent into active foam that penetrates fabrics even at low temperatures. Clothes come out perfectly clean, and fabrics remain soft and undamaged. I particularly love the Hygienic Steam mode, which effectively removes bacteria and odors, as well as the automatic detergent dispensing, which adjusts the amount of detergent or gel based on the load size and level of dirt. The SmartThings connection is fantastic — you can start, monitor, and control the wash cycle right from your smartphone, receive notifications, and even get care tips. It runs very quietly when properly installed, the spin is powerful, and the interface is modern and intuitive. You can really feel that this isn’t just a washing machine — it’s a premium device with real intelligence. Recommendations and drawbacks: • The body material is plastic, which is questionable for a premium model. I would recommend using higher-quality materials in future models. • The black glass design looks very stylish, but during the wash, you cannot see the clothes inside the drum at all. I suggest adding internal lighting in future models. • Don’t cut corners on materials and components, especially in premium models — it really makes a difference. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this purchase, but I hope Samsung will take these points into account in future versions.

I must, however, clarify that my Samsung Series 9 WW90T986DSX/S1 (Order #UK221017-45201234, purchased directly from Samsung UK in December 2022) has suffered a bearing failure after just 2 years and 8 months of normal household use — which is not consistent with the durability expected from a premium washing machine sold at this price point (£749). Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (Sections 9, 10 and 19), goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and reasonably durable. A high-end appliance such as this should last substantially longer than 2–3 years before major component failure. This issue is not isolated — there are numerous reports from other Series 8 and 9 owners (including QuickDrive models from 2021–2023) experiencing identical premature bearing failures, which strongly suggests a latent design or manufacturing defect rather than individual misuse. For example, similar cases are discussed on the official Samsung Community Forum and MoneySavingExpert, where multiple customers have reported the same problem. I am therefore raising this as a formal complaint under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and have requested Samsung to offer an appropriate remedy — either a free-of-charge repair, a replacement of equivalent specification, or a fair pro-rata refund — as required by Section 19(3) of the Act. Samsung should also investigate and acknowledge this recurring fault publicly, as customers deserve transparency when a product family appears to share the same mechanical weakness. I hope Samsung will handle this matter responsibly and in good faith.

Washing machine has potential and the cycles are generally good. However, after 2 months of owning, started to hear squeaking noise when washing. Engineers came out and removed the padding which was installed, this did stop the squeaking. However with removing this padding the drum now bangs against the side of the machine with no cushion to prevent this from happening. Be wary when purchasing as we have not been offered a solution, we were offered squeak or bang. Neither of which we are pleased with considering the price we paid. Can provide evidence of both noises if beneficial.

Just stay away from Samsung. Bought from the same series a dryer and I said to buy a washing machine as well. Worse decision. Order UK251018-99919718. Machine started to stop spinning after few days and a loud banging noise started to occur from the drum. For the amount of money that I’ve paid I was expecting more from more. Their customer service solution was to book a collection for the washing machine to be “inspected” and after that a replacement will come between 7-10 working days. So staying without a washing machine for 2 weeks. Worst customer service ever

Bought this as I thought the quality would be up there but it’s the opposite. Build quality is very cheap, lots of plastic and strangely for a premium product, made in China. Cleaning capabilities I’m sure are good, but the machine doesn’t function as expected as I get a horrible loud scratching noise and excessive drum wobble as a lot of others have experienced. Samsung support have refused a replacement as it is now over 30 days since delivery, but hasn’t even been 2 months and is already faulty. Am currently waiting for their “service partner” to come and have a look at it but couldn’t get a suitable appointment for weeks. Stay away and buy something else. Also Samsung please don’t reply with a patronising response with a link on how to reduce noises or tell me to contact your so called “experts” as they are close to helpless maybe spend more time improving your customer service and actually producing a product that works properly.

Don't ever think about buying a Samsung product. The machine use double the water as competitors. I bought the model that was replaced literally a few months after the purchase and broke down after short time. It's been 8 months and 6 visits and the fault returned. Samsung use the worst external engineers and asked us to deal with them when things went pear shape (damaged flooring and devices). There are much better brands you can get without the hassle and I will never make a mistake of getting a Samsung product

Huge disappointment – Defective Series 9 AI Machine! Extremely disappointed with Samsung UK. On January 3rd, 2026, I bought their top-tier Series 9 AI washing machine. My entire home is equipped with Samsung appliances because I always trusted the brand, but this experience has been terrible. ​Within just one month of use, the machine started making strange noises, which recently became a horrific metal-on-metal sound. The Samsung engineer visited today and confirmed that the shock absorbers are failing because they are extremely weak. He even admitted this is highly unusual for a brand-new machine and clearly a factory defect. ​I am deeply unsatisfied that a premium, expensive appliance failed in month one. As a loyal customer who only buys Samsung, I expected far better quality and reliability. Unacceptable for a top-tier price!

I brought this machine on 6 June and it was delivered on 11 june and since i already washed a lot of clothes. The programs are very fast . I used most of the programs like coloured clothes ,AI wash , jackets , etc. i would suggest you to not use AI wash if you have a lit of black clothes that will color your water as the machine will mistaken with soil and will have a longer program. I washet a lot of sheets in one go and the come out so nice not twisted and also looking almost like ironed. Really amazed by this machine. Its worth the price even the fast cicle is absolutely amazing and your clothes are perfect cleaned. After your program is finished and you take your clothes out you can feel the clothes that dint have so much water on thems as i had on the clothes before this one. Seems to be very good. Not sure I've quite levelled it properly yet as when it's starts to ramp up on a spin cycle it judders a little at a specific RPM, but otherwise all good. Decent selection of programs to choose from. Not tested the AI program enough but seems to detect washing type correctly so should adjust energy use accordingly. YouTube, Spotify, etc. is mostly unnecessary but the kids think it's excellent.

Great machine, so many options, but easy to navigate. Love the auto-dispense of detergent, and the integration with smarthings is great. Great results. Cycles a lot quicker than previous machine. So quiet, I haven't even tried the silent mode yet

yes it is all singing, all dancing, but after every wash or spin, no matter the weight, my clothes are very creased. At age 82 I have never had a washing machine where this happened. Dry washing is now a chore.

Who needs AI, in a washing machine, funnily enough its become a helpful tool in optimizing our daily laundry. I didnt think it was of any use what so ever but the smart capability is pretty impressive. I can optimize my use along with my solar generation such that the cost of the washing is free! Not in winter in scotland that's no help what so ever, but in summer when we generate it means everything i would have exported to the grid can be used to first top up my battery and second do my laundry. Bonus. Less bills. Who needs Spotify on your washing machine.... yet to find out why its there but my 3yr old loves it so Who cares. Is it helpful to have a Google search engine on the machine... no ... but who cares its an app that doesn't have to be used. Now let's get to what matters.... programability of settings is great. Really helps optimize care over garments and length of cycle. Performance of the machine is great. As is the drier that matches it. Load size is ideal.. could go large but think this is enough. Opted for separate dryer over my combined unit and im glad... less time wwaiting to do a wash and then a dry. Only downfall is having to change machines to do this but I feel the the time the machines are running is far less. This is a quiet machine, very. Which is great for late night washing. The added bonus of pouring the washing liquid into the machine and allowing the machine to choose how much to use is wonderful. No mor sticky half dissolved packaging pods, and simplicity of not over using liquid. I dont think ide go back to a wase drie if I could help it as the machines seem to work better as individuals. Ofcourse twice the floor space or height if you stack them.well made from Samsung as always. Counter parts are equal im sure but having gone from a direct drive unit from another high end manufacturer that ended up with it shaking the bones from the house and not being able to be fixed to this new machine is great. Design seems spot on.
