AI Vision Inside

Enjoy a smart way to manage your food. AI Vision Inside(2) intelligently simplifies your daily food management. Using an internal camera(1), it can identify certain fresh food items when they are put in or taken out and allows you to manage a food list(3) that can also be checked from the SmartThings App(4), while also letting you view images of what is in the door bins. Also it can suggest you relevant recipes and lets you manage 'Use by date' by manually setting the date.

(1) Red light will turn on when camera is working. User's appearance can be captured, but surroundings other than food item will be automatically blurred.
(2) As of March 2024, AI Vision Inside can recognize 33 food items. If the food is not recognisable, it may be listed as unknown item. AI Vision Inside cannot identify or list any food items in the fridge door bins or freezer. It recognises food items based on deep learning models, which may be updated periodically to improve accuracy.
(3) User may need to manually operate the list for accuracy.
(4) The SmartThings App is available on Android and iOS devices. A Wi-Fi connection and a Samsung account are required. You must use a same log-in account between the devices.

The capacity is more than enough for our 4 person family needs. The touch screen interface is very easy to use and has many useful apps and technology bult in. Being able to set cooling temperatures and view contents from our phones is invaluable using the Smart things app. We particularly love the ice bites and cube automated system and the in built beverage centre is a fabulous extra.

Love the added tablet helps with everyday things. Fast cooling and freezing of foods and drinks. Lots more space compared to my other American fridge freezer, compartments set up a lots better for added space. My only gripe is the camara could be of better quality doesn’t take a very clear picture of food going in and out.

Awesome awesome purchase. The spacemax technology enables the storage of groceries in a way that there is no wastage of space. The touch screen is very fast and performs brilliantly. Though the AI for food detection needs a bit of update as it does scan the useby date wrongly. Absolutely loved the beverage center as I always have natural flavoured water either of mint or lemon ready. There is also an option of toggling the freezer to a friege which is a massive advantage. There is nothing which I dont like about my fridge

Challenging to discover how certain camera visuals operate - I think different ‘versions’ have different capabilities and this may be difficult to suss out prior to purchasing - eg can you get a camera view of inside the fridge rather than 2 doors or can you only see a list of products you have added to the fridge? Great having TV and Internet onscreen. Still trying to figure out how to properly synchronise my Google / Microsoft calendars. More YouTube videos would be extremely helpful.

Very spacious fridge with two separate freezers. One of the freezer can have the temperature adjusted to be used as a fridge which can be very useful. Double door with quick access to water and two shelves is very handy too. Automated ice maker is great. The only thing I would change is the top shelf which is very long without any middle support. After loading it with heavy items, the shelf bends. Quite disappointing. It would be much better if the shelf was divided in two like the middle one with the option to move it up or down. The screen is a great entertainment with the selection of music apps preinstalled, weather, youtube, recipes, google..it would be nice if there was a netflix too.

What a fabulous fridge, it's the first " French Style " fridge and it's great. very visible to check what's in there and such a large space to accommodate everything. The drinks compartment is very good too with the option of the auto refill jug and the water dispenser. Love the fact there is the option to change the other half of the freezer back to a fridge if needed! Hubby is still going through all the techno features on the fridge - it's crazy that the AI can work out what you are putting in the fridge and when it needs to be taken out. It will take a bit of time getting used to all the additional features this fridge has - our old Samsung fridge which eventually gave up just before Christmas was 18 years old. I am hoping that this one lasts just as long!

This fridge freezer is totally amazing as it even informs you when products are out of date and asks for them to be removed. Beverage centre really saves time and money as you not have to open the whole fridge, so reduces temperature loss. This product replaced an old Whirlpool American fridge freezer we had for 18 years and we do respect technology has moved on, but this another step further. Brilliant product and service.

All AI functionality for food recognition is a joke. The instructions say to put items in the fridge slowly and one at a time. This is exactly how everyone uses the fridge.... The camera does not recognise barcodes to identify the product. Which would definitely make it easier to collect a database about the products. The tablet, despite being on Android, has strong limitations. It is impossible to install other applications than those enabled by samsung. In my case, only four apps available, which are completely unusable. Probably sponsored... Forget about any kind of fridge exploitation in Home Assistant. You can't control the tablet remotely in any way. There are only 4 available entities. And they could at least add volume and screen control so you can automate the screen. Adding the ability to install the WallPanel app for HA would solve most of the problems.

The new fridge is great but one small design issue is that the water dispenser is very slow, even with good water pressure. The door has to be open along time to get a glass of water, which means all the cold air in the fridge escapes.

The fridge freezer display is great to listen to music and youtube. I like how you can see what is in the fridge from your phone and add family photos. The notes memos are also very useful. I ordered the first iteration of the family hub earlier this year and was happy with it, but unfortunately, a few months later, it developed a fault. The inside view was not working, it would just show an image which was generic, or it would show what was in the fridge from a week ago. The rest of the fridge seemed to work fine, but when you pay over £2.5k for a fridge freezer and is main USP is the view inside, you expect it to work and last more than 6 months. Anyway, fast forward - I now have the second/latest family hub, it is almost exactly the same, but with a few changes. I don't like the fact there is no camera to view inside anymore, but they have cameras to show you what is inside the doors (something the original one didn't have). I much preferred being able to see the inside of the main fridge as an overview, not as a list of images - but I am getting used to it. There are no egg holders or wine rack with this new version. The doors are much better on this version, on the original one, it would swing open wide once opened, which was annoying. Now on the new version, you open it to where you want and it stays put. The actual height of the fridge freezer is exactly the same size as the original, however, they have made changes to the top of the fridge and the plastic lip has been increased at the depth point of the fridge at the top. They have also now covered the top of the front of the fridge with a plastic cover. The AI function is interesting, sometimes it records my head as a food going into the fridge, which amuses me. I was super excited about getting the original one, and it is a very expensive investment so I had high expectations. Fortunately, I received a replacement and that was a smooth process. I do like this new version, but again, just wished we could view the entire main fridge like the original one, and not as a list. I would be good if we could add a doorbell function on here from other brands besides Ring. This fridge does seem a lot colder than the original though - even when on the same setting. I would recommend this fridge overall though. I do like it and hope it lasts for years to come. Our old one which was a single fridge freezer lasted an age and was not a powerhouse of a brand for fridge/freezers. So, Samsung, I really do hope this one you have sent me stands the test of time! I cannot fault their customer service on this occasion with the fridge, the customer service were very prompt. A lot of my kitchen appliances are now Samsung, and we had issues with the washing machine, and the customer service with that was non-existent. We will not be getting another Samsung washing machine once it breaks (had it over 4 years).

It was easy to set up but I think the camera position in the fridge is too low which makes it difficult to see inside the fridge properly and the image is not very clear

Love the beverage centre and the new ice making machine, whcih should avoid any issues like the previous verisons. Hub is worth sticking with, its come on a lot.

Initial Thoughts: After owning this Samsung AI fridge for the last two months, I must say it’s one of our best purchases, and I have no regrets. The design is sleek, and it has loads of space, thanks to the 4-door feature. It truly feels like a game changer in our kitchen. The AI features have been incredibly useful, helping us keep track of our food and maintain it for longer. I love all the extra bits it comes with, from the auto-refill ice trays to the smart AI capabilities. The 4-door feature provides so much space that it’s made organization a breeze. This fridge is a game changer and has been one of the best investments we've made for our home. While I haven't found any significant drawbacks so far, Getting used to all the smart features can take a little time. It was a bit of a letdown to find that I couldn't download apps on the built-in tablet, as I was expecting more customization and flexibility from it. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this purchase. The Samsung AI Refrigerator has exceeded my expectations with its innovative features, smart capabilities, and excellent design. It has truly made our lives easier and has proven to be a worthwhile upgrade for our kitchen.
