Mode

Touch Mode to choose the methods by which your phone's location is tracked. "High accuracy" uses GPS, Wi-Fi and your mobile networks to estimate your location. "High accuracy" will drain your battery faster than the less power-intensive options below it, which use fewer tracking methods and are consequently less accurate.

 

Google location settings

Touch Google location settings to enable or disable location reporting in your Google account. You can touch "Location Reporting" and then touch the switch to enable or disable location reporting (this feature allows a Google app, such as Google Now and Google Maps, to store and use your location data).

You can touch "Location history" to enable or disable Google from keeping a history of your phone's locations. Such a history is useful for certain apps: for example Google Now can use your location history to help it inform you of traffic on your commute. If you tap the "DELETE LOCATION HISTORY" button at the bottom you can delete past location entries from your account.

 

My places

 

My places lets your device recognise your location to provide relevant information and services and make using some apps, such as Google Maps, easier. Add places such as Home, Work and Car using Maps Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to recognise your location. For example, set your Home location using Maps to search for your location. Or define your Car location by selecting your car from the paired Bluetooth devices.
